Anyway, even assuming Excalibur is literally forged of hopes and dreams, who says hopes and dreams are magic? If you can make a sword with them, they're solid enough for me.

Fair enough. Though Brynhild can split atoms with her spear and drop a replica of the planet Venus on people at full power, so I think she might be a match for some NNT powerhouses if she cut loose.

There were many names for it. For example, the magical energy in the atmosphere was called Mana. The meaning of Mana was approximately the same as that in the Polynesian culture. Also, Ether was not a form of Magical Energy as it was something else.
