Maybe it actually works exactly like Wolverine's regeneration, in that the speed and effectiveness varies wildly from instance to instance based on what's dramatically appropriate at the time.

But there's no implication that Saber didn't have enough to fill it.

Vasavi Shakti is a losing move for Karna since Artoria has Avalon, so we can leave it out for now. In terms of close combat, they have about equal stats, but Karna's absurd defense and ability to set himself on fire gives him an edge. He can fly, but she has a flying horse. I'd say that in close combat he wins, but it'll inevitably come to a beamclash in which the Anti-Fortress Rhongomyniad will probably break through the less-focused Brahmastra Kundala and weaken him enough for a killing blow.

Well my interpretation is that he can offset Rhon with Brahmastra Kundala and tank the residual damage with Kavacha and Kundala

And I think he outclasses her in melee so he has no reason to VS anyway
