I'm not sure what difference that would make? Her magic resistance didn't have an upper limit or anything so far as we saw, it just negated any attack made of magical energy/ki and let her ignore or destroy barriers.

Then again, it didn't seem to work on magic drugs if she took them and she was under a memory spell for most of the manga so I'm not totally sure of the rules of magic cancel.

The Princess of the Twilight was born with Magic Cancel as an innate anti-magic field. The most extreme example of the Dispulso spell effect, by causing mana to decay and dissipate.

While Asuna is essentially indefeasible by directed offensive spells due to this, magic affecting a fixed space around its target can overpower this defense: the ‘infinite loop’ trap in Kyoto, for example.

So stuff that don't attack her specifically wouldn't trigger Magic Cancel, or at least not at the level Asuna usually uses it at, since it's way stronger when used srsly (like at the end of Magicus)

To be fair, Sefar soloing the gods was mostly do to SMT rules.

She was immune to Fire, Ice, Wind, Elec, Light, Dark, and Almighty; while the gods were all weak to Blunt.

Mhm. That little kid's illusions worked on her as well. I'm just not sure why clearly targeted effects like love potions, memory spells and the canceling spell for the memory spell worked. Maybe it has something to do with how she can choose to allow certain magics to affect her, such as healing spells.

Emil doesn't do too much damage onscreen besides accidentally nuking a city. Also he seems to be legit immortal and appears to have the same puppet skill as touko.
