Nightingale almost killing Chloe in her interlude was a mere fraction of what she deserves.

Also, I'd argue that making Shuten look like a person who exists and then stripping her naked is almost as creepy as making her a drunk child.
For that second part, now that you put it that way...Yeah, it's creepy. However, the others were taking issue because the insults to Shuten Doji's design could have been taken as insults to the real person.

Localizationing stuff
While I don't hate Shuten Douji, I was majorly disappointed that as an oni she didn't look more badass - basically Asterios is what I was kinda expecting. But no, they turned her into a loli, the least threatening of monsters. :/
Oh well, always a chance we could see better oni designs either in Fate or another TM work.

they could make the whole syncretism stuff much more interesting yet they took one of the worst path possible, so disappointing...
At this point I will assume that this is just one instance of a Nipponwank in a Nippon franchise.

Also, to make it on topic with the thread, I must mention that, tho there are worse servants, I don't like how they portray Francis Drake, mainly because of the genderbent. The genderbend, as always, is ridiculous and the "explanation" for why she was remembered as man is even more so (it seems in TMverse the Brits can't differentiate woman from man). Although the personality does seems very fitting, her design is just too terrible to look past. If they want a booby elder sister Servant to babysit Shinji there are many better choices.
About syncretism, I don't really care about Shinto or Hindu deities
BUT-
The whole Gae Bolg>Gungnir always give me a distaste
then, the whole Skadi=Scathach thing happens
There is also the Japanese rumors about Cu=Odin in the same vein with the above
My distaste pent up into dislike and my dislike pent up into... you get the idea
