Shaft forgot they need to actually have interesting stuff on the screen if they don't want to animate. They grew complacent because of Monogatari.
Last Encore is shorter and has the Nursery Rhyme episodes. DEEN is a two-cour drag with really good music wasted on really bland visuals. I know a lot of people love the Archer vs. Berserker fight, but I really dislike it and cite it as an example of the show's largest problems.
I enjoyed Deen SN way more than Last Encore lol
LE is worse than a chore tho sit through
Hey Deen's FSN Music is pretty good. At least it has that
It's all opinion of course and I have a hefty dose of nostalgia for that one, but I never got the whole "DEEN FINDS A WAY" meme. Like, yes, there are off-model shots and obvious budget-saving techniques in some of the more intensive battles, but the overall image still looked good. Music, artstyle, direction, character designs, all these things were on point. UFO's UBW was technically much better, animation wise, but it came out looking much worse (mostly due to directorial/editing choices; nearly every fight is an exercise in excess and wasted movement, every explosion has a nuclear mushroom behind it, while meanwhile characters talking to each other barely emote at all).
As for Last Encore, much as I loved both Extra and SHAFT, the show has issues. And I didn't even get past episode 3.
shit BL says
Once and always and nevermore.
The only problem i had with Ufo's UBW was the pacing and music, and music is one of the make or break factor for me for many shows. Other than that it's good and much better than Deen's
Enjoyment is subjective anyway
It looked like Higurashi and Jigoku Shoujo and MarMite and Kyo Kara Maou, that is to say every other show Deen did around that time.
As for UfoBW, I'm not gonna crucify people for liking it, but it never clicked with me for a variety of reasons. Zero was Ufo's magnum opus.

Nah ever heard of these terrible movies called KnK ?
Fair, although adaptation-wise I still think they improved by applying the lessons they learned from KnK to Zero.

Second verse same as the first.

What little I've heard of Mahoyo definitely deserves praise, but I can hardly say I have enough to praise the soundtrack as a whole.
Although the man is also apparently esponsible for Motteke! Serafuku, so I'm conflicted on whether to praise or plot revenge on him.

Music is literally one of the most subjective things ever to argue about
Idk why you'd even get mad about someone not liking the same score that you do lol
