What do you think about some of the Type-Moon fans?

So recently on some discord chat I was being called a "secondary" by a certain user for liking trying to roll for Skadi in FGO. Apparently that user was rather salty due to Shiroumasa not being the anniversary servant. Then I googled this "secondary" thing, apparently it used to applies to the anime only watchers back then. But what does it actually mean and what constitutes of a person being a "secondary" or "primary"?

About TM stuffs I've consumed, I'm an EOP so until today I only read like translated VNs and NA FGO, but in like two months ago, I tried to read fan translations on the internet and people's discussions on FGO story but never actually participating in one. I'm not sure whether I must learn Japanese in order to become "primary" or stuff but back then when UBW anime is out people on anime social media/forum consider me as one of the more knowledgeable user about Fate series. Also what do you think about this kind of fan? Or this hierarchial thing? I mean, I'd like to add my knowledge about Type Moon and it seems that I've missed out a lot for not reading untranslated thing?

Generally I see the term "secondary" in the TM fandom be used to talk about people who just have watched the anime without reading the VNs/LNs/games. Since you said you read the VN, I sure wouldn't call you that. The dude in that discord you were talking about seems to have just been salty about Scathach.

There's no need for people to be rude is my stance here. It's true people should know what they're talking about before talking about it, but I don't think that gives folks the go-ahead to be high and mighty to those less knowledgeable (unless they dismiss and refuse to read the source material, but in my experiences "refusing to read" is not as common as "just haven't read yet"). If, for example, people are asking questions about something that confused them in UBW, I think fans more in the know should do what they can to direct confused people to a place they can find the answer they want; in UBW's case, that'd be the VN.

Well he's been repeatedly swearing on the Scathach=Skadi like calling her a pedo b**ch, etc. It probably linked to her story in the game, but then again while I don't agree with what she did in the story, I'm not sure how ancient civilization of Norse works since some culture seems to actually have an arranged marriage around that age (Mahatma Gandhi for instance, got married at the age of 13).

Thank you for the answer. Back then on general anime forums people asking me on UBW anime and why I think it's not really that good compared to the VN and missing some trivial things and get some of them read the Fate/Stay Night VN. It's the best thing to do I suppose other than acting kind of elitist.

Yeah, but it's also part of the experience. Like the romance subplot in a shounen manga, sure you can skip it and get almost the exact same experience, but you also miss out on something that's a touchstone to the fandom.

Skip the lp and actually play the novel. By reading lp you lose part of the experience that makes vns into its own medium and gain obnoxious notes by the guy that made the lp. Just skip the damn porn, it's not going to melt your brain.

I think voiceovers are a decent tradeoff for porn that doesn't actually do much to advance the plot and that Nasu has steadily backed away from. By the way, Fate has the most porn, right? I know UBW has only one sex scene, and I'm not sure about HF.
