Hope they don't skip Merlin's dialogue this time. He's got a conversation with Fujimaru that's pretty defining for his character.

Merlin's probably the dude they've handled the best in the adaptation in terms of getting his character across properly. Along with Gil.

If there's a conversation I don't want them to skip (and I'm hopeful they won't skip it), it's the flashback dialogue between Mashu and Leonidas
someone in the staff prefers Gil not wearing underwear
Man this episode made me really glad I got Ana during NA's last Christmas event. She was super good here, especially that last scene.
Dang, they really skipped the Leonidas flashback
EDIT: Silly me, I was completely wrong. The Leonidas flashback is later, not now.

I felt a bit iffy about the second half until the last few minutes, but boy did the first half succeed in placing what feels like a rock in my gut.

At least they had the Gil / Merlin scene. Shame we have that charisma vacuum of a MC sucking up all the good scenes though.
Full version just released. The second half is pretty great.
Prover might be the best song in this show. I can't believe I didn't like it during the first season 2 PV.
Grave. Rave. Crave. Deprave.
That was Hell you walked through. Ascension Hell, the first level.
Then you marched through Skill Mat Hell and QP Hell, the second and third levels.
Now you approach Bond 15 Hell.
I like the little detail where Fujimaru's hand on Mashu's shoulders is also shaking as he tell her to move forward.
Anyone who knows about sumerian mythology, what's the symbolism or reference for Enkidu and Gil being in the album cover if any?
Other than the obvious "shipping Gil and Enkidu"

the only reference that immediately comes to mind is urshanabi, the ferryman of the gods. he takes gilgamesh to kur to visit utnapishtim but gil fucks up his boat and utnapishtim banishes urshanabi for some reason. he comes to live in uruk afterwards.
really though that's a modern rowboat and I can't see whatever golden gadget A++ noble phantasm gil would use to do the rowing for him so it's just a shipping album cover.
And kinda referencing the non-animu cover i guess

The song is great and i'm not ready if they decide to play it during the more gut punching moments.
