    Well, the most onscreen action you get is seeing through his eyes when sleeping.
    His backstory is actually quite interesting, but it's left for KT and the Ciel route.

    Read the Manga for glorious Roa action (although there are some canon inconsistencies, like SHIKI surviving 30 Black Keys)

    Oh yes, Manga Roa was pretty awesome. Also they used the superior SHIKI design for most of the manga as well.

    (As I recall, the canon explanation for Roa surviving the Storm of Black Keys was that Roa's body had already been hit by a Black Key the other night when he confronted Shiki, and as he explained, SHIKI's body naturally builds up defenses against anything that hurt it before, which was why Ciel was almost entirely ineffectual the second time around, and why she busted out Seven for the final confrontation.)

    God Hand isn't the only way to get Adaptive Ability (Arcueid herself states that she gains resistance/immunity to any weapon that hits her before), and one Black Key should kill someone whose entire skillset is based around the concept of 'Survives shit'?

    It kills a normal DA 6 times over. And that's a normal one, not one of her petrification/dehydration/incineration ones, and DAs are already pretty much immortal.

    What I wanted to say is that SHIKIs ability was never described as being adaptive in the VN.
