I was gonna vote otherwise considering Kenshin appears to be the most mana intensive Servant, then I remembered she still has the connection to the reservoir ~~plus I am a sadistic prick who gets off on drama~~

Servant Status

We need to conserve Magical Energy as much as possible in case a fight with Servant happened. Assassin is dependant on my and her own very little Magical Energy, while Magellan wanted to save it for whatever she plans to do. Only Kenshin, who linked to the Mana Reservoir and me, has spare energy to waste, but-

"You guys..."

"Director Saber...!"

The air suddenly becomes heavy and awkward, just like what I heard from Nobunaga, I know she is the former Director of the police force. Unlike the Sanzensekai corps which simply an ally, the police force is personally directed by her, there is an emotional bond between them. This will be something troublesome for her, so I contacted her via telepathy to make sure if she is up for the task.

"Kenshin."

"I know."

What I asked to her is cruel, but it would be much crueler if they are slain by anyone other than Kenshin. And Kenshin is a military commander, I know she understood what choice is the most effective, even though it may be hard.

But I also don't want her to hurt her own feeling either. She is my newly contracted Servant, a friend that I just make.

"Do whatever you think necessary to do, we only need to get past here fast, the how is in your hand."

Kenshin was surprised, and she immediately back to her old-cool self that likes to give a gentle smile. "Thank you, I really appreciate your concern, Master."

"Listen-", As I requested, Kenshin immediately try to say something, but they continue to point their gun forward and yell, "Stay there-!"

From that response, she realizes a peaceful talk is not possible. Kenshin went silent as they shakingly hold their gun, but she instead taunts them for some reason.

"Do you realize what the meaning of pointing your gun at me?"

"Wha-? Kenshin!! What are you saying to them!?" The sword Himezuru suddenly shakes Kenshin's hand violently. In sword form, only people that contracted to me can hear her. Since both Magellan and the police didn't even react to her voice.

"SHUT UP! SHUT UP! You are not our boss anymore. You are just a traitor!"

"If I am, then, why you didn't fire those guns?"

"Kenshin! Why do you keep doing something like this?!" Tsuru is worried to Kenshin more than she is angry, it seems this has been Kenshin way to resolve things in the past. I don't really understand what she tries to do either, she only makes the polices more resentful toward her.

"That's-!!! Did what you say about protecting this country is a lie? With that European girl beside you, you are the one that sells out our information to the enemy after all!"

They point their index finger toward Magellan. She paused for a second until she gets what's going on and startled. "Eh? Me...?," her presence only make things worse for Kenshin, and Magellan instinctively back down to our back as if hiding.

"You confirmed that I was the enemy of New Japan, naturally there is no reason for you to hesitate. I believe I have taught that to you guys."

"Please, stop this! Kenshin!" Tsuru continues to plea, but Kenshin decided to ignore her.

"Why?! We trust you with all of our heart! But here you are, bringing destruction to our country!!!"

"No, I did not lie to you guys. Even right now, what I do is what I believe the best choice for Japan."

"WHA-? DID YOUR PERSONAL JUSTICE THAT IMPORTANT?!"

"Yes. As I deem Japan has fallen to the path of evil, I will correct it with my blade, even hurting the nation I try to protect itself in the process."

"Kenshin... stop hurting yourself...!"

Normally, a person may bend their ideal and morality for the sake of their survival or the greater good. But for Kenshin, to be righteous and just is much more important than to survive. A human will not understand, I did not understand. Her mentality is closer to those of a god; it is something seemingly irrational for mere humans like me and these guys.

"WHAT NONSENSE ARE YOU SAYING?! HOW COULD YOU PROTECT SOMETHING BY HURTING THEM?!"

"Then, stop me, if that what you believe to be the correct choice!" She approaches them and points their gun to her head with her own hand.

"---!!!"

At the end of the day, she only understands one way to resolve things: by proving it with her might. If debating didn't work, it will be a contest of will; it that also fails, it will be a contest of might. Perhaps it was born from being alive in an unforgiving era, perhaps she has grown tired trying to end things diplomatically with no success.

She has no choice but to harm, and she doesn't understand how to change once there is a choice.

"But you guys can't. Deep down, you know hurting others for the sake of your own well being aren't right."

"Dammit!!! What should we suppose to do now? The city is in danger, and we can't even stop someone we deemed traitor...!"

"Go away. If you can't even exterminate someone that against your belief, the battlefield is not the place for you. We already have enough corpses lying around. We don't have time to offer a prayer for corpses that died doing nothing."

That's why, at least, she guides them to the better choice. She may forever be trapped in her hypocritical way, but at least she can save others from taking the same path as her. Even if her way to do so may hurt both of them and herself.

She willing to shoulder all the sinful act and painful choice, in hope that it will spare people she cared about from all of those. And if they commit those choices out of desperation, she will kill them to save them from defiling their pride even more.

"But you can protect what you believe in, by continuing on living. You have family waiting for you; you shouldn't hurt them by dying in this battlefield. In exchange, just let me go through to that path of corpses alone."

At long last, they dropped to their knees. With that resolved, we follow Kenshin's lead.

But as we go pass through the police forces, some of them suddenly scream their lung and finally shot their gun.

"TRAITOR!!!"

However, Kenshin deflected the bullets to the shooters, seriously wounding them and knocking them out instantly; some may even be crippled forever.

They already have chosen their path, and Kenshin already makes herself clear that she didn't intend to bend her belief.

"Listen, Master. Sentimentality will not let you achieve your dream in this battlefield. We move forward, continue moving forward, and continue advancing to move forward." Kenshin didn't even look back, perhaps she didn't want to show her face to them, or maybe she was too emotionally hurt to look at people's face.

This is what betraying her own justice for the sake of that justice itself truly means. To achieve the everlasting peace for those she dear, she is willing to hurt those she dear if they stand in her way. A very conflicting and self-destructing path, and for a Heroic Spirit, they will never be able to change from the thorny path they already take.

The others who didn't take a shot gather to their unconscious comrades. They quickly support their unconscious bodies and escort them to somewhere else which I believe to treat their serious wound. They look back and mutter their director nickname, "Director Saber..."

"Kenshin... It's alright, don't blame yourself..." After everything was done, only Tsuru have the courage to say anything to her.

"They are... they are good soldiers-!" Kenshin's body tensed and stutters."If we, if we can end all of this, I will no longer be forced to hurt them any more right!? Master-!!!" I don't see her face, but there are slight wet parts in the asphalt concrete.

I can't say anything, empty words only hurt more. And I notice one thing: this Heroic Spirit already goes unimaginable trials that make her so strong and stiff, she becomes under constant stress and can easily break as a result. So desperate that she desires the Holy Grail and clings her entire hope into a lofty wish. And perhaps, many many others may under the same state as her?

Location: Fuyuki, New Japan

Five minutes have passed since the Upper Belt forces landed on New Japan's territory, and many of them already reached the city. Just like many wars before then, a new and effective way of warring changes how battles being done. In the case of Servants and Noble Phantasms, their superhuman abilities make a battle much faster as a prerequisite for Servants to perform as fast as possible while they can leave damage to enemy equally fast.

Among new war machines that been created as responses for the existence of Servants, the garuda-like hybrids of Phoenix Empire and advanced unmanned robots of SFA has flight capabilities that allow them to reach the city faster than all military units available. Meanwhile, EC has a much more traditional approach toward warfare. They send out tanks and missile transports were sent to many strategic positions or provide back up attacks with their jet planes and warships.

They didn't damage property randomly either, they choose to attack places that may have strategical importance such as tall building and military posts while leaving civilians property unharmed. Though, this is probably pragmatic move from the Tsarina more than anything, as she saw Fuyuki as a potential resource or to set a new base there, doubly to leave a good impression toward others.

As for the soldiers, they show no mercy. Even armed with Nobunaga's manufactured Sandanuchi, they hardly unable to fight against them. The dynamic and fast garuda and iron hard robot proven to be a complete nightmare to fight for a mere human.

Strategically speaking, it would be much more easier to destroy an enemy's heart of military right away, but due to a special Boundary Field, the headquarter looks like a simple forest. Not only that, New Japan's paranoia toward information leaks has proven to be effective, as lack of communication between Upper Belt allied forces make the attack lack of proper coordination.

"Shingen... From what I see of such sudden large scale attack, they know we hide Lestari Elliwyn. They seem didn't know that Fuyuki is the headquarters of New Japan."

Nobunaga and Shingen who leading most of the Sanzensekai, currently on the rush to intercept the Upper Belt forces. They knew that with such enemies full of Servants, the marine garrisons have no hope to win, but they certainly didn't expect to be wiped out in a span of 20 minutes.

However, that doesn't mean it a certain defeat. Unlike the normal soldiers and police, the Sanzensekai corps that can harm Servants are trained for this occasion.

"Yes, normally an attacking force will not bring such outnumbered force, at least by a large margin. Even with Servants on board, there is a high chance for their Mana to be depleted before successfully achieving their objective. But I'm sure they already find out this is our headquarters by now."

With how fast New Japan able to hide and escort their civilians, anyone with some experience can guess Fuyuki is a military headquarters. Since able to escorts civilians in 30 minutes didn't simply require bunkers and facilities next to their homes, but the civilians themselves must be very disciplined as they quickly follow the military's instructions without panicking. That Fuyuki suddenly looks deserted in that small time span is an irrefutable fact.

"But to capture Lestari Elliwyn, they must land to this land. From the look of it, they bring three naval-type Servant in this operation, I'm guessing that's half of their ranks. And ship-type Noble Phantasm is not that dependable in land-based battle, at least compared to ours." Shingen add.

It is not because of overconfidence; the Sengoku warlords are indeed the master of field battle. As almost every clash in that era is happens on land. With Shingen's Military Tactics and Nobunaga's Strategy, they almost guaranteed their victory in a battle between armies on land, but they admittedly inexperienced in naval battle, despite their advanced techs.

"Now, the problem is the Servant and those Noble Phantasm ships. It would be different if Kenshin is still on our side, but now, only you have air superiority."

"There is no meaning to talk what already done. I'll leave the land to you and Oichi. As for me, I'll go straight to their heart. I will destroy their marines and the Tsarina woman."

With that, Nobunaga flies off and split from Shingen's group.

As for Oichi, she is the one that in charge of evacuating the civilians and the rest of Sanzensekai before joining Shingen's group. However, with the recent event, Shingen hasn't fully trust her yet.

"Sir." The veteran that is Shingen's right-hand man, spoke.

"What is it? If you're being anxious, I believe Kenshin already give you the lesson how dangerous a Servant can be."

"No, that's not it. Yesterday... you almost died."

"...?"

"That ninja Servant, who I believe you called as Assassin split your throat so easily. If you didn't think fast to hinder your blood loss with your armor, you probably would die."

Assassin may be too cocky with her ability, but she is the real deal, a ninja among the top ninjas. Even with Mana Reservoir and advanced medical technique, the damage Assassin had done hasn't fully healed yet.

"...!!! You... do you know what you are saying...?!" Shingen suddenly tensed, it seems his last Noble Phantasm is something very serious that he reluctant to use it.

But as they continue moving forwards, he greeted by enemy's Servant with an impactful jumping swing of a pickaxe. Her swing was so forceful that the ground shattered into pieces and violently thrown around.

"Disperse!" Shingen and his army evade the strike. Shingen may on the slow side, but he has an unrivaled intuition.

"Nice horses! We surely have a Rider festival here, eh, New Japan Rider?"

The Servant in question look like a mix between a fairytale princess, savage pirate, and warmongering Viking; there is too much thing going on with her. Twirling and juggling her pickaxe like a toy, she gives a cocky grin toward Shingen. And trailing behind her, tanks and soldiers took a battle position ready to assist her and ravage the city.

"The name Serpentines Rider, nice to meet you!"

"Damn---! Already reach our land, huh?"

"Deputy Prime Minister.... we need to evacuate the civilians first." Says one of Oichi's men in black.

Oichi currently walks passes through the panicking civilians. She doesn't do anything to help them, and there is a limit on how much ordinary citizen can remain sane with such chaotic situations.

But no matter how you look at it, Oichi didn't even raise a single effort to help them at all.

"Madam?"

She finally turns her face to the man in black, but what he gets is a glare of frustration and anger.

"...I give you a full responsibility on evacuating them."

"Huh?"

"Direct the Sanzensekai on my stead, I will not repeat myself twice."

"Wait, what?!"

Since the event at Ryuudou Temple last night, there is a slight change in her demeanor. She suddenly looks tired and stressed out.

What more jarring is that, she is smiling. It gives a weird dissonance that despite she is full of negativity, she also is happy from the alarming situation.

Everyone knows there is something wrong with her, but the dark aura she emitted makes everyone scared to point that out.

Suddenly a flock of garuda can be seen. The number probably five hundred, and riding one of them, there is a warrior in green with dragon lance.

"Phoenix Empire's garudas?! They already reach us here!"

Some of the garudas go straight down to attack them. Some has been shot down, but most able to close their distance using their extreme speed and slain some of the corps. Five of them ignore the bullets and goes straight for Oichi's head.

The garuda instantly slapped by the shadow's giant hand. She doesn't need to use the ability of her Noble Phantasm to defeat them, just simply beat them with sheer strength generated from the size of it is enough.

The Oichi yesterday may be a very careful and patient woman, but today, she can't help but go aggressively after enduring years being passive in a single moment.

"Hooh? A beautiful flower leading an army, different from our barbaric women, you are such a delightful sight to see. But with a Noble Phantasm named after one of the Samsara, you must be going through an ill fate befitting of your tragic beauty." The warrior points his dragon decorated spear forward toward his opponent, challenging her to an honorable duel.

"Well then... let's get this over with..." Oichi smiles, and the world suddenly goes pitch black.

"It's hard for us to coordinate and monitor each other because of New Japan jamming... don't you agree, Smirnoff?"

"Yeah, if we have normal communication, this invasion will be much smoother."

The Tsarina currently observe the fight with her Marksmanship hidden among the aircraft carriers employed by EC. But she didn't really observe Serpentines and Phoenix Empire Lancer's assault, she much more concerned with Armada's Noble Phantasm galleons.

(Those ships haven't moved an inch yet, why they dock in the shore like that? There is a high chance that the enemy can destroy or capture your ships... Confidence in your Noble Phantasm is one thing, but this is...)

Just like New Japan, even the Servant among European Confederation didn't know every single ability of other Servants. She has absolute knowledge of Serpentines ability, and she indeed chooses her to fight alongside her in this operation because of that.

But that's not the case of Armada.

Armada is one of the two Servant hails from Spain coalition, and she boasts her networking ability as she is the one that informs them the location of The Master - Lestari Elliwyn and proposes this operation. She knows Armada has an ability to warp the entire forces to the shore of Fuyuki, that's why they can suddenly appear without notice in the first place.

(Besides, I have not seen Armada yet since the first time we warped from Spain.)

However before she can think much more, her carriers were sunk one by one the same way she did to the submarine battleships before.

And the last one, a barrage of matchlock guns fired toward the ships she currently resides, and she hurriedly goes to the control wheel and touches Smirnoff's hand once again.

"Smirnoff-!!"

"Yes...!" Even now, he didn't understand how her ability works. He might think that the Tsarina only messing with him, not that he minds if that the case.

"I implore to myself: Voyage!!!"

She quickly stirs the wheel so hard it almost breaks. And then, the aircraft carriers suddenly took a 90-degree turn in a span of seconds and evades the barrages.

At the center of the flying matchlock, she looks at someone dressed in black imperial uniform. It is clear this girl is the one responsible from the assault.

"Found you, Tsarina girl." Nobunaga quickly understood that such extreme turn can't be done, except by a Servant. "Now I am here, your little sniper game is done."

"Archer, I assume? Are you coming here to bargain our terms?"

"What a bad taste of a joke, I come to sink every single of you!"

"You must be work really hard for being upset toward interesting investment like those battleships, I assume running a country is your grand dream when you was alive?"

She may be soft spoken and has meekish tone, but the word coming from her mouth is sharp. And she was right, Nobunaga had never run a nation before, she only dreams to do so and fails. But to her, simply becoming the Empress is not a goal, but a path she must go through, that's why she doesn't think highly of such a dream.

"Bastard...!"

"I was spot on? Ahahaha... sorry for that."

No longer has anything to say, she points every Sandanuchi she has and readies to obliterate her to nothing alongside the ship she stands on. In contrast, the Tsarina keep giving her a lance-like penetrating smile.

Nobunaga didn't even hesitate, she fired every Sandanuchi she had toward Tsarina, however-

A 4-meter giant with cybernetics repelled all of the attacks with his giant arm. The arm isn't left unhurt, at least if one counts bruises from repelling Noble Phantasm as damage.

"Saw huge explosions over here, it seems the enemy is quite powerful. Until one of us captures the Master and defeat enemy's Servants, I respect ye' as the head of this operation."

"Thank you sir giant. For someone with such hideous look, you're quite the smart and gentle-man."

"Lady, I may not on yer' level, but I also hold an office for a while."

We still on our way to whatever Magellan planning to do, and Kenshin has calmed down a little.

Magellan stopped running, and she once again gives another hand sign: "Two Servant already reached the land. They currently clashing with Shingen and Oichi."

Shingen and Oichi already clashed with enemy Servant, whom she inform is a Rider and a Lancer. As for Nobunaga, it is clear the huge explosions on enemy ships are her doing.

"Ideally, we can reach her ship in 10 minutes if we take the shortest path to the shore, but clash with Servants is inevitable. But only Kenshin in ideal fighting condition, though I can manage to provide Assassin her needed Mana for short time."

"We can't just cross the bridge and bring her ships there?" Tsuru ask.

"No... There is no reason for enemy ships to cross such narrow rivers; it put you into a disadvantage and become a sitting duck, that would be too suspicious." Kenshin refutes the suggestion.

"As a ninja, I will block or destroy that bridge too. Limiting enemy's supply routes are our basic job. How about the forest west of us?"

"The west has Ryuudou Temple, the Mana Reservoir. The area around it is very guarded, most enemies will target the Reservoir the moment they know its position." Once again Kenshin answers.

But going on the town has the chance of running to the clashing enemy. And it seems Magellan didn't have any suggestion for where we should take our routes.

That said, I'll choose 5, as even if Oichi may be recruitable, she seems likely to betray us. If we chose the "Freedom" option for motivation, the Caster might have been likely to remain loyal to us...

Servant Status

Currently, we are using the city's sewer to sneak through it and ride off Magellan's ships in the river's mouth. That way, we don't need to fight the clashing Servants and can immediately ride it without being too suspicious unlike sailing through the river. But because we need to detour (and thinking hard for a better idea), we spent 25 minutes to finally get out from here.

"But I must say, this is a genius idea. I have been here for 5 years, and I didn't think of it." Praise Kenshin.

"Hehehehe! I know Holy Grail War more than most Magi! I have heard during the 4th War; the Caster pair uses the sewer as their hideout and can literally access every part of the city with its network." And kidnap children, but details.

"Whoooaaa, you shouldn't praise her often, Lord Kenshin. She will get annoying pretty fast." As usual, there is a reason why there is two 'ass' in the Assassin class.

"Shut up, let me have my moment!"

And as we reach the mouth, we can see smokes generated by destroyed ships shrouded the sea making it hard to look beyond. However, flashes and sounds of matchlocks from afar can easily confirm where Nobunaga and Tsarina are; and they are quite far away. We can also see Magellan's purple armada waiting for us in the mouth nearby.

"There they are my beloved ships - Armada de Molucca!" Magellan didn't wait further, she immediately rushes to the ship happily. But Assassin quickly uses her superior speed and grab her waist to stop her, making both of them fall to the ground.

Objective: Reach Magellan's armada Completed!

"Idiot, don't rush like that!"

"Owww!!! What the hell are you doing, Ass-chan?!"

"I said stop using honorific that sounds fucking weird! Wait did you just call me Ass? Agh, that's not what I want to say!" It seems that Magellan weebness able to affect the normally above everyone else Assassin. "Look, don't you think is weird? Those smokes are too thick, I don't think smoke from warzone can be this black, it reminds me of the Fuuma's smoke tactics."

Besides, what happens to the rest of Upper Belt Servants? Mainly, we haven't heard anything about SFA Archer and Phoenix Rider, unlike others.
But before we can execute our plan, we make a grave mistake.

Assassin and Magellan quarreled, forgetting that our voices can be heard faintly by the Tsarina and they realize it too late.

Armada... who is this Ass-chan you talking to? I believe you have no personnel whatsoever at your ships...

These two are total morons!!!

We return to a few minutes ago. The battle in the city continues to rage on. And so does the live update between their clashes to us.

Between Shingen and Serpentines, the two Rider continue their clashes. Shingen continues barraging her in sync with his Sanzensekai troops. While individually, Serpentines is a formidable Servant, her force has no way to hurt Servant as opposed to his Sandanuchi armed soldiers.

"Barrage her! Swift as the Wind!"

With Shingen's command, the ordinary soldiers that New Japan has set in strategical positions hidden in the building, barrage her with continuous focus fire while supported by Sanzensekai's homing laser.

"These homing laser beams are plain cheating!!!"

Normally she would be dead already as she has a high rank on Riding. But she able to save herself using her lizards, snakes and other reptilians familiars to protect herself as a cushion. The reptiles gather around her, some creep across her jacket, and despite how princessy she looks; she has no disgust of them at all.

"...Are you sure the name Serpentines is accurate?" Shingen looks at her ability absurdly. Surely they can hurt normal people, but there is no way these reptiles can hurt him, even if they are poisonous.

However, what is crazy to him is how devoted the people around her to sacrifice themselves as a meatshield voluntarily. And this is not out of fear, nor disciplines, it looks like they are moved by plain attraction.

"Miss Serpentines... are you alright...?" Another soldier body full of holes, protecting her from immediate death.

"No...! No...! Stay with me!!" She tries shaking his body in hopes he will regain his will to live. Even if it wasn't scientific at all, the soldier still feels thankful their commander cares so much about their life.

And he is not the first, how many barrages did Shingen claims these good soldiers now?

Oichi may have a very gimmicky and troublesome Noble Phantasm, but she is no fighter compared to someone belongs to the knight-class.

Nobunaga meanwhile continues her barrages toward Tsarina and SFA Rider. She mostly controls the battle, as Rider can only defend from her attacks. However, she can't help but feels like on the losing side somehow.

(Ability that big of a scale must be a Noble Phantasm, the warping should be those ships ability and definitely takes a huge amount of Magical Energy...)

For one, the Tsarina's mind is not in this battle, but on something else entirely. She has not engaged the battle personally at all, only using her 'transfiguring ability' to control the ships turrets to somehow able to harm a Servant, while she being protected by SFA Rider from Nobunaga's repetitive assaults. SFA Rider should be on the slow side, he can only speed up using his monster-like strength as jumping boost. However, the Tsarina has done something to him, some sort of quick ceremony by means of kissing her hand has been done. Now, SFA Rider continues to intercept Nobunaga's attack perfectly, despite there is no noticeable difference in his physical performance.

Dairokutenmaohajun is a Noble Phantasm that turns the surrounding area into scorched earth, even the sea is unable to extinguish its flames. But the flames are not the main feature, it is the ability to counter against Mystery or Divinity, making materializing their physical body becomes really hard. She didn't surprised at all that there is barely any effect to Tsarina, but a giant like Rider should have high enough Mystery to be very affected. However, even with the boost from the Holy Grail, the effect on him is a simple burning.

The Tsarina meanwhile continues her immerse thinking.
