Random fact: Starlight (the Muse one) was my groom entrance song.
Random fact 2: the clapping rhythm in the chorus of Starlight (the Muse one) spells T-I-T-S in Morse.

    Back to topic,

I love the bittersweet endings. Arcueid True, Continuation of the Dream, etc.

I really like the recurring narrative tropes and how they are executed.

Like when the good guy explains to the villain why he sucks, and then kicks his ass. (Sometimes they do it the other way around, to keep it fresh.)

Or when an immovable object is pitted against an unstoppable force, and the narration explains why one of them beats the other.

Or how the protagonist moving away from his established core values often triggers a bad end.

Personally I like how TM has characters who have strange abilities that are extremely hazardous to them if used improperly or abused. They grow more powerful the more they understand it rather than just a palette swap of aura or something that makes them permanently stronger with no drawback. I play in ttrpgs in my free time, so when a character gamble everything using a double-edged sword and a crazy plan to bring down a seemingly impossible challenge that might just kill them even if they succeed, I jump for joy.

The atmosphere the original visual novels have especially fate. As well as its background art with the houses and buildings which are so early 2000 l love them.

The concept of the HGW and works that do that right. Like for example SF, whenever that releases...

The Main Theme of Apocrypha is really great. The feel of it, the use of plucked instruments, the chanting, the amount of layers in it, it's exactly what a person like me wants to find in Music - It's always moving forward while keeping the core feeling of everything, and they added in some small details and phrases in the very background that you wouldn't hear in some places unless you listened closely. The motif is nice and the quality of the sound is amazing. I do wish it had a bit more variety in its melody, but honestly it's fine on its own already. I'm just picky. All the instruments' tone colour were really brought out, especially with the string solos. Absolutely no metalic sounds on those strings, and they really "brought out the wood". The hissing sound at 1:12 was a really nice choice too. And I absolutely love the sound of the lute (I think it's a lute? Maybe it's a harp, I'm not exactly sure).
The start of the song is especially a favourite of mine. The strumming of strings, plucking, the solo vocalist coming in with a low synth(?) to back it up along with a constantly circling panned choir (Not exactly sure how to describe this one) with a harp coming in afterward to take over and pluck the motif. It adds a mystique to it. Gotta give credit to the woodwinds and brass as well.

Wish they didn't add that static-y bass-y noise at certain parts but again, I'm just picky.
I feel like this theme is basically the best thing to come out of Apocrypha. At least, that's what I think right now in this moment.
I'd talk about some DEEN/Stay Night OST but this post is already pretty long...

I always liked the way fate mixes both fiction and history into one in a way that's both fun and you can sort of learn from it. Not all of it is close to the actual historical figures or events but overall it's close enough that you can usually get at least a little out of it. Fate as a whole really peaked my interest in mythological from places that I otherwise wouldn't have ever cared about or even heard of in the first place.

I like how T-M is actually pretty good about getting "strong female characters" right.

(For the purposes of this conversation, I will ignore the existence of FGO).

I love how I don't understand anything going on in TM even after research.
