Unpopular TM opinions you have

All I'm hearing is "I don't like Zero because Gen was mean to my waifu." Which is fine, I guess. It's just a silly hill to die on. Saber is the face of the franchise, so it obviously didn't hurt her stock too much. You can enjoy her in several other incarnations and mediums.

Unpopular opinion of my own:

I'm glad we don't have an Illya route.

She works better as a tragic figure, a microcosm of all that is wrong with magi society valuing results over the people trampled along the way. Sakura suffers in much the same way, but she has the potential for a happy ending, which takes the edge off. Even Saber gets a good conclusion in three of the five endings. That Illya always gets the short end of the stick gives her tragedy a permanence and a power that a lot of these other sub-plots lack. Illya can't ever be truly saved, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I also never would have touched FSN if it had loli sex scenes.

Illya is actually my favorite of the FSN human cast so from that angle I've always lamented how her route got merged into Sakura's, but it's definitely true that her always getting the short end makes her character's tragedy feel..stronger, I guess is the word. Even her happy endings don't last forever since she has an expiration date.
Also yes it never occurred to me that an Illya route would have had Illya sex scenes, and no thank you.

I disagree with that last point, and as for the first, even if everyone can't get a happy ending, you can't stop people from obsessively trying (and yes, like Overlord Ainz, I admit that I am being hypocritical because I also mock Shu of the 3 Kingdoms). As (admittedly assimilated) Karna said in Extella Link, there is at times nobility in choosing the affection of one over the welfare of millions, when Altera decided to side with Emperor Karl.

The scene in question that had said choice happens in the park with Illya anyways, so I guess in context it might've made a bit more sense.

I could see a third option being equivalent to Shinji not wanting to get into the robot, and then things snowball from there. Neither here nor there, though.

I can live with Illya sex scenes (as long as there's a viable path of attraction between her and Shirou; certainly not in F/SN-as-we-know-it), but Illya route would have to be an offshoot of Fate, not Heaven's Feel.

Things going off rail and the fact that they planned far enough to have thoughts about selling HF as a game on its own makes me think there would’ve been another outcome worth seeing even if what we got is good as it is. I also don’t think the ending would mean necessarily solving Illya’s lifespan dilemma either, but who knows about all that.
