So funnily enough, not only is her appearance in GO accurate (well, aside from the outfit) but that complaint even dates back to the original myths!

I think Artemis design comes more from the like then anything else. Just want to point out TM knows the tropes and preconceptions their working with, they probably ask themselves what they could do to put a twist on the Artemis Orion legend, and they came with this because they thought it be funny. I mean that's sort of the reasoning that went behind Blackbeards character

I went through and checked for myself, for whoever I personally thought was just blatant fanservice. Not counting characters who had the same design before FGO, and obviously not counting swimsuits (since that'd be fucking stupid), then including the ones you listed who basically count just by virtue of being hUGE, I can count like 29. At most. And that's if I'm super lax with what my requirements would be.
"It's all fanservice trash now and it's destroying good character design", not even 10%. Meanwhile FSN with 1/7th, Extra with what's a lot more than I cba to count, Apo with 1/8th, Fragments with 1/7th as well, and so on.
Again, it just feels like people rag on FGO for this because it continously adds new characters, so it's something that you'll notice more often, same as with the video game industry argument above, but conveniently overlook any context or comparisons.

To me this is the same as when people say shit like "IT'S ALL GENDERBENDS NOW EVERYONE GETS A GENDERBEND". I actually counted them a while ago, and although some are iffy on where they should go (Musashi, Altera, Quetz, etc), even if you count those as genderbends then on the high side you end up with like 12% of the cast.
Barely 1/10, but no, it's so rampant.
It's even better since people's reasoning for Artoria being ok is because it works well in the story and all, but if we then don't count genderbends who work within the framework presented to us in the Nasuverse/in-story and that has actual thought put into it, then it's even lower than 12%.

I have no attachment to Artemis' design beyond finding her hot, but I'll not hear a word against one of the only two manzai routines I find enjoyable.
Artemis is somehow one of the overly fanservice-y design that I tolerate alongside Medb. Normally, I even count party dress last ascension as one.

I personally like Artemis a lot. Her thing with Orion and being lovey-dovey is fun. Plus there’s enough of the Greek nasu god weirdness and divine spirit stuff in there for other things.

Although, unless there is a change in the settings I heard about, her original form is planned to be in a worthless figure that is neither a loli nor does it have huge breasts. (I-IV)
