Oath Under the Snow is an overrated adaptation of an overrated story arc.

It might just be my friend circle, but I've never really seen anyone praise OutS or anything. At most, it got "yeah some scenes were pretty good", and the rest overshadowed by the complaints people had for it.

At the end of the day, Prillya was never "amazing" plotwise and is still just a glorified fanfic but you could tell the author is having a lot of fun with it and that he really cares about the world and the characters, him being a big Fate fan and all.

Wish I could say the same for the majority of the non-comedic Fate adaptations...

More like "was having a lot of fun with it". I really don't get that feeling from it anymore, especially when you look at all the doujin stuff he draws at the same time.

At the time Zouken’s endgame was just to use Sakura to pop out some matou mage babies to fight in the next war instead of making her a legitimate heir, which Tokiomi definitely wouldn’t be okay with. The lesser grail idea didn’t even cross his mind till everything went to shit at the end of Zero and he was able to scoop up some pieces of Iri from the fire.

That honestly would have changed regardless, seeing as he pretty much thought internally that he would just either devour her if she couldn't handle the experiments or when she was first adopted, actively surprised she survived.
So it's not like he was particularly careful about "preserving the product", if we use his mentality. The whole "yeah, I just want her to advance my family from mediocrity" falls flat with his methods. We've never seen him make any precautions or do anything that might be implied to be safety regulated if you don't want to kill the person.
She just happened to survive it, that's it.

More like "was having a lot of fun with it". I really don't get that feeling from it anymore, especially when you look at all the doujin stuff he draws at the same time.

The guy does seem to struggle when it comes to making engaging original characters (I couldn't give a damn about Beatrice's latest sob backstory) and I'm not sure how I feel about the way the story is progressing at this point despite some decent setups along the way. Angelica was a pretty neat antagonist though while it lasted.

Watch as 3rei! ends, with all of the fanfare that a climax deserves, and then 4ier! happens and it's back to monthly slice of life comedic shenanigans with no sign of a greater overarching plot in sight.

Oh, I totally agree that what Kerry did to them was unnecessarily cruel and pointless. He could have just let them go after ordering Kayneth to kill Lancer. They were already crippled enough. Actually, it might have been cruel to even let them go.

There's no denying that what Kiritsugu did to Kayneth was cruel, but it was equally undeniably necessary. Can you imagine what would've happened if Kayneth took Berserker's contract after Kariya bit it?
