Monty Python. This doesn't even merit any discussion.

On a more serious note, I'm very partial to T. H. White's and the movie Excalibur's depictions of the character.
That said, if we can even say there's a definitive version of Arthur (we can't, by the way), I imagine Mallory's would be it.

If you're benchmarking definitive off of modern influence you really do have to go to T.H. White or Tennyson, no?

Definitely. Pretty much all later adaptations, with the exception of Monty Python almost, are based in some way off Mallory's account, which in some ways is a remix of several prior accounts in one story.

Hmmm... Do you think so? Well, it's certainly true they were both hugely influential in updating the stories' ideals to modern times.

What about Merlin (TV show) Arthur?

I think that one had the best interpretation of Morgana (though I only watched like three episodes, lol)

Ah, but if you think of it, why not? More young people will have watched that than actually picked up The Once And Future King, or worse, Le Morte D' Arthur. You can say it was inspired by the aforementioned, of course, and it largely was, but it still did create its own unique spin on the tale.

The Merlin TV show doesn't seem to have left much of a legacy no matter how many people watched it. I mean, even among those who followed it, their first mental image of Merlin, much less Arthur, most likely won't be those from the series. It kinda was collectively forgotten as soon as it ended.

Non ironically speaking, Fate will actually likely leave a very deep and lasting mark on how the Arthurian mythos are seen in the Far East, by the time the dust is settled. It depends on how much the franchise keeps spreading before imploding. I doubt it'll ever do much to change the general Western audiences' views on the lore, though.

Admittedly, when I think "King Arthur," I see Graham Chapman. He would've been good in the role even in a serious movie.

Here is a weird piece of fanon I've heard before. Some people have this idea that Shirou is a sociopath but isn't he almost complete opposite of how sociopaths are generally defined?

What a coincidence, I have heard some people saying that the mothers of the some people referenced in your post should have done less meth during the third trimester.

The things some people say huh?

IKR? If anything those people's mothers didn't do enough meth.

I wish I had the courage to do drugs.

My typical drug is eating. I once lost 42 pounds, and then gained it all back.

The reason they say that is how quickly Shirou just decides to kill people and feel no remorse over it. Like with Shinji in Fate.

I remember Koto used to talk about that scene a lot.
He never sleeps. He never dies.

Battle doesn't need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don't ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don't ask why I fight.
