The implication of his being near death in Tsukihime is pretty played up, but considered there is no official follow up regarding his status, the veracity of these fandom views i see online is strange

I don't see how turning Shiki into a ghoul will save his life honestly.

well it's a doujin of a doujin, they don't need to stay true to source.

but honestly that doujin was the coolest thing to read.

Basically most servants except Gil , get, wank, then people become dissapointed

Really, I think people are forgetting that these people are supposed to be the best of the best.
But that doesn't always make for satisfying fights since obviously, the smarter person gets a fight to the death over with quickly instead of making it exciting.
So if you have people who are abnormally skilled in whatever ability they have, and fight other such people, it shows a clear divide. The mistake is often made that someone is garbage just because they lost quickly.

That is why a fight with less strong but still skilled combatants is better, as you can raise tension instead of getting the one stroke finish.

I always thought ones like Roa skipped that stage due to being magi already and often having already powerful Circuits and talent and all that.
