    Boogiepop (2019)

So the urban fantasy mystery series that inspired Suzumiya Haruhi, To Aru, Nisio, and many more and kicked off the light novel craze is back! Supposedly done much more faithfully this time around compared to its original adaptation.

I'm excited! I followed the novels till Stalking in the Decadent Blacks, this anime is confirmed to at least have Warawanai, and vs Imaginator, but the rest is up for grabs! June thinks it will be 3 eps for warawanai, 6 for vs Imaginator, and 3 for The Piper to fill out the cours. I personally hope its successful enough we get a movie of Embryo.

But yeah there's been several manga coming out to build hype around the series, this is uh Yoake. So maybe Yoake will also somehow be in the new series.

    Some trailers.

I've always been curious to get into the Boogiepop franchise so this'll hopefully be a good starting point before diving into the many LNs that exist.

Will watch this and see how Phantom goes with knowledge of this. Still, seems like it'll be a great show and OPM and ACCA I loved, so I trust Natsume

Watched the first two episodes, I had heard stuff about the novels being anachronistic so I wasn't surprised by the unusual narrative style. Reminds me a lot of Baccano or Monogatari.

So far I'm digging it. Though like other mysteries shows I get the feeling that it'll be better understood when you binge re-watch it like O;9.

Yep. This seems like something I'll enjoy piecing together. I definitely like the first 2 episodes. The OST is also great

Thus ends the first story arc of Boogiepop.

Very enjoyable, can't wait for more.

Talking with June and Moony has gotten me quite hyped for this series, doubly so since I've always wanted to get into Boogiepop but hadn't had an excuse to do so until now.

First arc definitely benefits from watching all of it in one sitting.
McJon01: We all know that the real reason Archer would lose to Rider is because the events of his own Holy Grail War left him with a particular weakness toward "older sister" types.

So as to celebrate the 20th anniversary, they've begun re-releasing the Boogiepop stories and I knew I couldn't resist picking up the first one as soon as it came out.

Will be interesting to see how well they adapted the first arc of the new anime.

Hmm... This "Imaginator" seems like a tricky opponent.

The whole "seeing what other people can't" is very reminiscent of Tsuki/KnK. XD
