I said that if I came back with a proper roleplay, it would not be with anything Nasuverse related. I may have cheated a bit. While what you see before you has nothing to do with Nasuverse, it is still very much similar in spirit, especially to Tsukihime and Mahou Tsukai no Yoru. Still, it is an original setting, original world and original lore. At least in the sense that it comes straight from this head to yours and has served as setting for quite many original tales.

Welcome to Astronomika - Shooting Down Falling Stars.
This is an action-oriented play-by-post roleplay that utilizes some hybrid elements such as dice rolling and grid-map based battle system. However, more than action, this roleplay is all about the location, the lore and the mysteries that players create and encounter, along with interactions between numerous NPCs. Unlike my other roleplays, Astronomika is a conscious attempt at 'Less is More' or 'Quality over Quantity'. So if you are looking for a sprawling urban setting with ton of locations and hundreds of NPCs, you will not find them here. You will instead find a small American coastal town with some colorful personalities living in there.
Now, there's also something that is quite different with Astronomika, at least when compared to most of the Beast's Lair roleplays. In this roleplay your character's identity, their abilities, their allegiances and their motivations are something to be hidden, something not to tell just anyone. As a player you will take a role of an agent that belongs to one of many supernatural organizations (with one exception). Supernatural itself is an utmost secret, not to be revealed to the general populace. Instead you must blend in and fulfill the mission given to you without being found out. You cannot be sure who is a potential ally, who is a potential enemy, or who even might be a target for you to eliminate. Trust is a sacred thing that you'd do well to safeguard. While you might propose an alliance to another player or an NPC to take down a target you cannot handle yourself, who knows? The one you ally yourself with might be someone ordered to find and eliminate you. Thus, while I do not advice getting paranoid, I do advice thinking about who to trust and who not to trust. It might make a difference between life and death.

in the rulebook. Still, as this is an original setting, do not be afraid to PM your trusty GM (that being me, I guess?) if you have any further questions that the rulebook cannot answer.
What comes to applications and how many players will get in, that remains to be seen. The amount of players will be around
4 to 6, depending on the quality of applications. Indeed this will be a 'may the best sheet win' situation where what I look is unique characters and fun concepts. What I mean is that new, fresh ideas and original takes on old classics are encouraged, even if it's just the character's personality. In-game stuff and rules for various abilities and what-not can be worked out after the players have been chosen, after all. Also, people who can keep a somewhat steady posting pace and do not disappear for months have a higher chance of getting in as I'd like this RP to keep a steady, if not brisk, pace.
... Well, don't be too intimidated by that last part. What I mean by it is that it'd be nice if the players didn't disappear within a week after the roleplay itself starts. Just give some thought whether or not you can stay interested in the game as it unfolds.
Or, to quote someone giving advice to grumpy Ol' Verg in how to speak to possible new players:
"New people will be welcomed with a passionate hug and will be given advice on how to write good sheets to showcase their characters in the best way."
Not 100% sure about a hug, though. Beard might get in the way.
Anyways, the absolute deadline for when all character sheets must be in is the change of a new year, in other words 31.12.2018. However, depending on how impatient I am, I may hasten it just to screw with everyone. Or I might give some more time, considering how busy time of the year it is.
Well, that's it. Questions, comments and what-not can be posted into this thread was well, though I advice people not to spoil their factions and powers to others (though talking about characters is fine), as big part of the roleplay is who-hunts-who and who-is-who type mysteries. You can even think of it as a very elaborate game of mafia if that helps. Also keep in mind that the rulebook can possibly change as it is by no means perfect and without faults.
