A Message for Pokémon Video Game Fans
This has never happened before. There better be a lot of new ones then, like in Pokemon Black and White.

Japanese companies usually suck at PR, so I didn't expect anything more than what was said. I'll just wait and see what happens. It's a real shame, since the game would have been awesome otherwise. Maybe they should have gone for a 2020 release?

I care far more about the new Pokémon in a new gen rather than having all the returning ones.

Even so, the basic expectation of a new Pokemon game is that the National Dex is there and you can migrate Pokemon from prior gens to the next one. This will especially suck for competitive players and those who follow competitive, like myself.

My boy Swampert is a non Gen 1 starter so I don't think he will be in the national Dex. At this point I much more hyped on Pokemon Masters tbh.

On the one hand, I always use new mons in a new generation anyway.
On the other hand though this shouldn't be happening at all.

I think this whole situation should make us ask why apparently mainline Pokemon games are apparently made on a shoestring budget when it's the single biggest media franchise in the world. Apparently the team is really small too. The money is there to give GameFreak a bigger budget and more staff but it's not being done, and I have no idea why.

Honestly looking through that Serebii link just depressed me because really, there's not a single Pokemon I hate, so seeing some gone would make me sad. Especially if this gen rekindles my inner battler and I actually try for the postgame.

What about my boy Whiscash, the Water/Ground type that learns Spark? Or Luxray, who learns Superpower? Or being able to collect all the flavors of that Pop Rocks Pokemon from Sun and Moon? What about my Hydro Pump-using Salamences? Or my Manectric with Overheat? What about the honestly real cool Doubles comp where After You Trick Room Musharna ensures your team of buff sweepers always has priority? Or the other doubles comp where you Entrainment/Skill Swap Moxie onto Garchomp, use Gravity, and then have it Earthquake your own team to death for POWER to slaughter the enemy?

These are questions I shouldn't have to ask.

GF is saying that Town game is their prioritize, more so than Pokemon. Planning to release game series for one year gap but also reducing the number of people who work on that game is probably one most stupid thing decision from a game company

Pokemon fans have always eaten up everything they offer, no matter how little effort is put into improving the games or how many bullshit versions they put out. Minimum effort & huge profit, thats the dream right there. Its just that this time its pretty inexcusable when they cant hide behind the excuse of “its just a handheld game chill bro lmao” anymore.

And of course the majority of the money is tied to merch, so id bet there’s pressure to just quickly get another half assed kusoge 10 years behind of contempory games out so that they can start making that sweet money of merch riding on the new gen hype.

I guess its similar to modern Type Moon in that the artistic vision is heavily compromised for dem big moneys
