"eyes that divine the world" doesn't make total sense in English IMO. One divines information (e.g. the future), not a tangible thing. But you can probably rephrase it to work.

Sorry if this question doesn't fit this thread, but I've been having trouble 'getting' this sentence. (FSN RN prologue, Tohsaka is having an internal monologue about why it wouldn't make sense for a human to try to utilize a Blood Fort):

    魂はあくまで“内容を調べるモノ”“器に移し替えるモノ”に留まる。

    or 魂はあくまで[X]に留まる。

Where X is the embedded clause. "The soul is, at the utmost, [X]"

    These clauses, however:

[A thing] of studying the matter (?)

    [A thing] of putting into a vessel/container (?)

Would make sense as "something the contents of which you would study" and "a vessel where you'd put something", but it just doesn't click with me grammar-wise - can a subject topic suddenly move on to a noun phrase (seems dubious)? Could someone more experience lend me a hand in understanding this sentence?

To human magus souls are not that useful. "A soul is nothing more than something to be studied, or something to be put in a vessel". They experiment with them to learn things but don't derive much utility from them.

I think he's asking for an explanation on the grammar.

Oh, derp I didn't read the whole thing

After you cut out the fluff it breaks down into 魂 は もの、もの に留まる

"Soul is limited to Thing A Thing B"

a vessel where you'd put something
No, it's "something you put in a vessel." 器に移し替える modifies モノ

Can anybody translate the words that appear in the Tsukihime Remake PV? I want to make a video out of those translation.

Here's some of the moonrunes that appears in the PV that I found.

    『━━子供の頃。もしもの話を聞かされた

    宙を塞ぐ天蓋。夜を開く白貌 幽玄麗らかに落下する星

    ああ━━ 今夜はこんなにも、月が綺麗だ━━』

And for the rest, I've got no luck finding it Orz.

Here's the link to the video for convenience sake:

You will need confirmation from a more authoritative source, but this is what I could decipher:

"... Back to my childhood. Made to hear stories of what could have been.

The heavenly lid that cloisters the firmament. The white semblance that inaugurates the night.
the celestial body whose halo serenely falls.

Ahh... Even on a night like this, the moon is beautiful..."

Hmm, that feels off somehow. Maybe because of the choice of words.

After watching the PV, I see now that the first sentence ends in a dot and has nothing to do with the second sentence, so I rewrote it.

The second line are just poetic ways to call the moon. I will try to rewrite it better but I'm not very good at literary english, and neither do I have accurate translations for those japanese terms.

In what universe is 子供の頃 "infancy"?

  15. #1035
Maybe it's because I'm using spanish as the bridge language between japanese and english and made the mistake of translating "infancia" as "infancy" instead of "childhood".

    Sounds a lot better .

Here's the rest of the words that I found:

    その夕暮れは 悔恨を残し

    その思い出は 既に吾の物ではなく

    その日々は 幻に過ぎず
(Those days are merely an illusion)

    その繋がりは 許されぬ偲いだとしても

    彼女の名を, 忘れ去る事はできない
(I am unable to forget her name)

    それは未が眠ったままの, ある月の封伽話
(That is the sealed tale of the moon that still lies untold for the future)-> somebody please fix this .

    No.

If you try to get fancy before you are sure of the literal meaning, you'll make it worse.

Some grammar problems as well, like 聞かされる which is the passive form of 聞かす. Seems like you were trying to reach it by starting with 聞く.

    ---

As a child, I was told stories of what could have been (「聞かす」の受身形)

The dome that stoppers the heavens (not what "cloister" means)

The white shape that unfurls the night (physically 'open', not 'begin')

The radiant, gracefully falling star (no 'halo'. it's all about the 星)

Ah... Even on a night like this, the moon is beautiful

    The evening leaves behind regret

The memories are no longer mine

The days were nothing but an illusion

Even if our relationship is just a forbidden memory

    I can't forget her name

This was a fairy tale of the sleeping moon.

    ---

You just incorrectly transcribed the last line, which confused you. Should be 「それは未だ眠ったままの、ある月の御伽噺」

Ahh yeah, I made a mistake on THE last line. Guess I'm also trying to be too literal at translating them too.

Thank you for the translation, I'll be sure to credit you .

This is TKP. I just recently joined and this is my first post. I've been lurking on this site for a little while now, but I never had a reason to join until now.

I'm wondering if there is anyone who might be able to roughly translate, or know if a translation exists for the following video from Fate/tiger colosseum (The Kirei Route):

I only need the translations for a 3 minute section between approx. 23:00 and 26:00

Reason for asking: There's someone on another site that often RPs as Caren, while I RP as Kirei. Her birthday is in about a week, and I just recently found out that Caren and Kirei actually meet in this game (which shocked me). An English translation for the reunion between father and daughter would make an ideal present, but I can't seem to find an English transcript anywhere. The closest thing I've seen is a quick mention of the meeting in the Type-Moon Wiki

Needless to say, any information or assistance would be an enormous favor to me, and I would be very grateful.

I pray for the swift arrival of much needed aid,
    Kotomine Kirei
I've also been told that the above video isn't exactly their "reunion". It seems they also meet in Caren's route @17:40

Is this what I'm looking for? This is all rather confusing...

And thanks once more to you, mewarmo990, for being nice enough to assist me.

    First video:

Kirei: Oh, am I supposed to admire my home sweet home? It seems I must return to God's side after all. What say you, nun with the menacing air and suspicious intent?

Caren: Yes, I pray that you will return to the Lord's side. You should know that it is well time for you to leave the world. It is sacrilege in the eyes of our Lord Jesus Christ for men born in evil to walk the world clothed.

Kirei: Perish the thought! You are narrow-minded, Sister. In any case, you are forgiven for garbing yourself as a nun, despite your bestial nature. The embrace of God is more generous than we can imagine.

Caren: Well, well. Allow me to greet you once more. Welcome to my church, my predecessor. I thank you for delivering me the Holy Grail. Where should I sign for it?

Kirei: "My church?" You say such amusing things. This place has long since become an inn and cheap tavern.

Caren: Your former abode has hardly changed. If anything, the filth has been removed. It was difficult to clean such stubborn stains.

Kirei: So you made the dog and monkey behind you do the cleaning? Then should I call you pheasant, dear Sister? You may as well join the menagerie.

Lancer: Who're you callin' a dog? Man, your mouth is as foul as always.

Gil: Kotomine! How dare you call me a monkey! You're acting far too spoiled for a mongrel...

Kirei: This truly brings me back. It has been a while, gentlemen. It is wonderful to see you as healthy as always.

Caren: Father*, this is... no, this world has no room for you, lost soul dazed by the light of the Grail. Blessings be upon you as you return to the world of fairy tales.

Kirei: The treasure chest is not yet open, you see. I cannot leave until this ends.

Kirei: Besides, it's been a long time since I've had the mapo at Taizan. Allow me to treat you, dog, monkey, and pheasant nun all. It isn't as sweet as dango... but I guarantee its flavor.

Lancer: dude u just triggered me. I'm not going through that again.

Gil: Not my sweet virgin tongue! I don't want any more tummy aches!

Caren: The culinary negotiations have broken down. You seem unwilling to hand over the Holy Grail. In that case...

Kirei: Let us settle this, man to woman.

    ---

    * "Father" as in the way one would address a priest, not literally her father
