There are many things one could say about the Vittle Broker and the Broker's storied reputation. Some said that there had been a Broker so long as there had been a Hogwarts, meeting the demands of students for grey and black market goods that could not easily be sourced otherwise. Some said that the Broker as a single entity did not exist - that he or she or it - was an invention of cabal of students who managed the less than legal side of what Hogwarts had to offer over the year, given that it was easier to create a myth around a single individual (or line of individuals) than about an organization that did not - could not - legally exist. Not that anyone would admit to knowing who the Vittle Broker was at any given time, or what the Broker's agents were up to - all of which made Matou Shinji more than a bit curious about this...Broker and what they could offer.

He was also curious as to why they'd asked to meet in the kitchens, as it didn't seem the most private place, but...perhaps there was a reason for it? More of an issue was the request to come alone....should he comply, or bring someone along?
