[Hollow Moon] Mahoutsukai no Yoru Translation Project
This project aims to translate the entirety of Mahoutsukai no Yoru into English. We mostly started this because of all of us getting incredibly tired of all of the failed Mahoyo TL attempts that have spawned in the last 8 or so years.
This will be primarily done by getting a first-pass translation by translating the French release by Moon-Trad into English. Then that pass will be rigorously TLC'd to ensure that nothing from the original JP intention (both in terms of meaning and tone / writing style) was lost, circumventing all issues a double translation would normally have. This way we can ease the load such a project would usually have on the JP readers by distributing it to French speakers too. We are aiming to translate all of the games chapters into English ourselves.
We have quite a large team, but none of us are all that experienced with this stuff save for a couple, so it might take a while. We don't want to rush this because we want to provide the highest quality release we are capable of providing.

Layemou, Nico-Alter, Raymoo, Nicolate for the translation from French the project was originally based on. Moon-Trad for the aforementioned French translation. Quibi for the Realta Nua project much of the tech work was based on.

Good luck Baguettsukai no Honhon. A translation of a translation isn't optimal but that's essentially what we have for KT (and F/Z, and DDD) too. Not like there's any alternative.

What's the story behind Kagetsu Tohya and FZ exactly?
KT has it especially bad, with things like the daily messages being at times completely nonsensical and spawning persistent fanon, but people have made do.

I'm glad a version of this will be available in English, even if the act of double TL is inherently flawed. Do you have any people to check the JP text for verification? I feel like that would minimize a lot of damage.
We have a few people to run JP text and check it for cross-reference purposes, yes. Also yes, ITS HAPPENING (has been, actually, for a bit now.. hehehe~)
That gives me a lot of hope. Best of luck with the project. I just hope some of Mcjon's original TL gets reworked eventually.
Its funny because one of them joined after I made this thread, and they have experience doing this type of thing with much bigger projects. I'd say the chances of this actually being good skyrocketed
