    Well I'm not a hardcore fan, but I have my moments.

    And this is my logic for how The Hobbit will end up.


    Gimli is awesome. Gimli is a dwarf.
    Thus, dwarves are awesome.
    LoTR is awesome because it has a dwarf in it.
    The Hobbit has 12 (or 13, can't really remember them all) dwarves, thus it is going to be 12 times more awesome than the LoTR films.
    Thus, the Hobbit is awesome x 12.

Oh yeah, in the middle of an evil death-forest he took on a nest of freaking demonic spiders that defeated his 12 (or 13, whatever) allies and won, then spent a few weeks inside a hostile elven fortress and managed to escape with all of his dwarven allies at the same time.

    Man, the idea of seeing a Hobbit movie after that classic cartoon one (from the same studio that did Flight of Dragons and The Last Unicorn) drags out the deepest and most ancient pits of my nerd-dom.

    Hell, just thinking about the songs has me excited. Unlike LotR, there were so many points where the characters actually sang in the spirit of the Celtic Bards and teh Norse Skalds. The freaking Goblins singing about how they're going to roast and eat Bilbo, Gandalf, and the Dwarves.
