monika a best

its not the most amazing thing and its not quite groundbreaking(interesting attempt but it doesn't go far enough imo) and its not even consistently good but ddlc was a very competent attempt for an EVN. I liked it. The art was alright at first but the Monika pic is 10/10. The writing was generic and too short and a bit bland at first but part of that is justified by the nature of the game, although it's still not really as good as it could be. I like that the poems flesh out their writers and in this regard Natsuki was very nice, but Monika is still 10/10 the hottest.

Considering it's made in 2 years with such a small team it's really impressive, especially all the hidden easter eggs.

Finished all of Chaos;Child today. Fuck, this was sad as fuck. And really fucking good. Also, fuck the anime. Took a 10/10 VN (maybe 8/10 and I'm being biased) and turned it into a 6/10 mess. First Chaos;Child and now Dies. This year really has no good VN adaptations (Besides HF, maybe. But I take that as something belonging to next year because that's when I'll be able to watch it)

Eden of grisaia unrated came out a few days ago. Posting this here in case I’m not the only one who just found that out.

To follow up with a review, the game was certainly...fine? I guess. It was certainly worth reading but that was about all. They seemed to have lost a lot of the easy charm that made the first game so much fun. They clearly didn’t really know what to do with meido so they just went SHARKS like every scene with her. And michuru was odd. They seemed to have styled on her having MPD despite the first game being really specific about that not being the case.

maybe part of the problem is so much of the game yuuiji was either alone or with people as crazy as he was so there was less opportunity for random one liners that send the girls into shenanigans.
