Isn't Mew multilingual? I think he said he knew Mandarin? Or was it another language?
Anywho, reading A Song of Ice and Fire book three myself. Not bad at all. A bit slow at times, though.

Finally got my hands on the latest Discworld novel, Snuff and it was great. Easily one of the best Vimes novels.
Another Vimes novel?
I've gotta check this one out.

You should check every new Discworld release out.

Got my hands on Inheritance and am eagerly digging in.
So I'm currently up to A Feast for Crows, the fourth novel in A Song of Ice and Fire.
And what a feast it is. So many characters have died by now...
My Chinese literacy is about middle school level, so I manage. Although my Japanese has probably caught up by now, since it's my major and I haven't actively studied the Old Tongue in years.

Just finished the farseer trilogy.
Wow.
And that's not a good "wow".
This is the most wastefully full, wordy series I've ever read- and holy shit, it is a dead-as-fuck series. Fantasy stories are meant to be escapism, an escape from the dull lifelessness of everyday boredom. Instead, this series takes everything dull about a journey, and a war, and its characters, amplifies them, adds a chapter to each and every deadening detail, and cuts out anything remotely interesting or lively that could've existed, ever.

How could you possibly be stuffed to finish it if it was that boring?
"Everything in creation is flawed. Humans don't need to be mentioned. Air, intent, and even time. My eyes can see the death of things. They're special, like yours. So I can kill anything that lives. Even if that thing is God."
Spoiler:
You'd be surprised. I started thinking Sword of Truth was really boring, and I managed to struggle through most of them.
It wasn't exactly boring- more like mind-destroyingly dull and grey. In the last two books, the protag couldn't go two chapters without something bad happening to him. Beat by bandits? Check. Thrown in prison? Check. Had people he knew and loved look at him in disgust because he had a kind of magic? Check. Poisoned? Check. Addicted to the Uppers he's been using from the start of the book? Check.
And it's like watching slow-mo footage of a car crash- you know it's gonna end badly, you know it's gonna hurt- but you just... can't... look... away.

I'm just reading my old book Megaman NT Warrior manga Vol 1 Book
Not much, it's just I haven't read the manga in a while, and it's very different from the game and the anime...sorrry I just woke up after a nap....
I'm currently re-reading the Hound of Baskervilles.
I read John Dies at the End a few days ago.
Shit was so cash. Sequel comes out in October I think?
oh god the sword of truth....boy did that series fuck the pooch huh?
first two books? awesome. then started freefalling. I almost felt bad for the author by the end. he ad this burning desire to get out his message and make his points and it all just suddenly went to hell.
I may have said this before on this thread, cant remember, but by book 10 or so, you ended up getting 100-200 pages of the same old magic, and then 500-600 of listening to richard rahl just bitch about whatever today's moral of the story was. I remember one time where he continued preaching for over 2 chapters and more then 100 pages. I just started skipping pages after page till I got to the next scene skip.
the sword of truth, in an odd and negative sense, actually effected my writing in a profound way, now that I think back.
I just finished the last hunger games book
probably my least favorite of the three

After much delay waiting for it to become somewhat affordable, started reading A Dance With Dragons by G.R.R. Martin. Dark start.
Before exams, I was reading Good Omens. Then just now I picked up Inoue Miyuki's autobiography to escape studying.
Artist's block. Bigger bitch than karma, I swear.
