Yeah, I think Etna and Laharl are a good example of good friends of the opposite sex. I don't think I ever saw them as lovers.

Also, canonical end he sacrifices himself instead of staying with Etna, which would make more sense if he was in love with her. He looks at her more in a "good, trustworthy" friend view.

Nope, the canon is the good ending. Laharl don't kill the Seraphin and he returns to normal Flonne... well, she turns into a fallen angel, but that's just because she is now one of Laharl underlings.

And yeah, the discussion about who is the "mother" of Maoh is hilarious (I have to play to 2 and 3, though, but I had seen the video)

About Flonne, Etna and Laharl love triangle... I think Laharl really worries about Etna. Not sure if in a romantic or platonic way, but he worries about her. And Etna is the same.

Well, you're not very likely to see Laharl without the two of the tailing him, their a Power Trio after all, so it's not unlikely that the three of them are in some kind of relationship.
