SMT/Persona: General Discussion (P4 Arena, P4 Golden, P5, SMT: IV, Etc.)

I downloaded it earlier today on a whim, dunno if I'm going to keep playing it. I generally found most of the SMT humdrum of collect demons/personae, fuse for stronger demons/personae, turn based beat a boss, go back to collecting boring and just kept going for the story. Dx2 seems to have voiced cuteness, which is quite something for a mobage, but is its story actually worth checking out at least?

Also not to worry, I got a Red Thor from the beginner 5* ticket and that's apparently the worst there is, so I won't be sticking around for gacha luck, at least.

I've been playing since JP launch and I've never rolled anything above a 3* outside of guaranteed gachas
Don't play this game for the gacha is what I'm saying, it's just there to collect different types for fusing and if you pulled Yoshitsune out of it I'll eat your fucking eyeballs

No Yoshi, but I got Ghost Rider, Trumpeter, Siegfried, and two Jeannes.

And Izanami, but you can fuse her, so it's not as boastworthy.

There are way too many types of summon, at least four currencies I'm aware of right now, and dailies all over the place.
You certainly weren't kidding about the grinding.

I've gotta give it to this game: It's captured the basic skeleton of the typical SMT game so well... that it makes me want to go back and play Nocturne or Devil Survivor or any other "real" SMT game instead.

I feel you, it really reminds me of the old Devil Summoner games. Man, I wish they'd bring that series back, it was so cool.

Atlus could even bring them back to cameo in a Persona spin-off game like back in the old days to get a feel if people would be interested in the older style SMT titles.

As much as I like the music in Persona, neither 3 nor 5's cast are interesting enough to buy a rhythm game for, especially since I hear they didn't bother with a story mode this time around.

Nice the archetype randomizer from the event changed my blue gacha Cu to purple so now I don’t have to remake him from scratch, that’s basically a three million magnetite present

Yeah,I arrived at a verdict regarding Dx2
the verdict was that the good parts made me want to play another SMT game and the bad parts reminded me I was playing a shitty mobage instead, so I quit.
