    The Remnants

    i will regret this immensely.

    -

    ANTI-RULER
    REMAINS OF EDEN

    Class: Anti-Ruler
    True Name: Adam
    Gender: Male
    Alignment: True Neutral
    Origin: Biblical Narrative (Eden)
    Attribute: Sky

    Strength: D-
    Endurance: B+
    Agility: C
    Magic: E
    Luck: E-
    N.P: ERROR
    V.P: EX

    Traits: Anti-Hero, Original Sin

    Class SkillsClass Skills:

    Magic Resistance (D-)

As magic did not quite ‘exist’ back in the days of the beginning, beyond His actions, Anti-Ruler has a low rank in this skill. It has been artificially raised by his presence in the Ruler Class.

    God’s Resolution (SEALED)

Sealed by Affection of the God of the Cross (Tainted).

    True Name Discernment (E+)
One of the Class Skills of Rulers, allowing for the discovery of a Heroic Spirits True Name. However, it is remarkably low. At this rank, Anti-Ruler can only identify the names of the ‘greatest sin’ a Servant has committed…based on his own biases. He is also capable of identifying any animal by both its common and scientific name, for some reason.

    Bane (EX)

A denotation of a spiritual constitution that is foundationally composed of curses. Harmful acts taken towards others are carved into the target's destiny, forcing a conceptual disadvantage equivalent to Weakness on the victim and causing their protections and blessings to rot away. This can be mitigated to a degree by Luck checks, as well as anti-curse skills such as Magic Resistance and Protection from Curses.

Anti-Ruler holds himself responsible for everything wrong in the current world; there are not enough words in the human language to describe the depths of his self-loathing he holds for himself. The only beings that can resist Bane at this level are beings that were never human in the first place.

    Personal SkillsPersonal Skills

Affection of the God of the Cross (Tainted) (C+):

A skill belonging to those who are loved by the God of Christian theology…and those who betrayed that love in such a manner that even God could not fully forgive. This skill, untainted, would protect against all abilities and attacks tied to the God of the Cross’s divinity below this skill’s rank. In this state, it does the same…but the bearer of the skill would still feel the pain of said attacks. A punishment that keeps the sufferer alive, but in agony.

    Oblivion Correction (A):

The Class Skill of the Avengers. People forget, but an Avenger never does. In the case of Anti-Ruler, he is incapable of forgetting the actions that led to the world’s current state, and he is equally incapable of forgetting any ‘flaws’ in the current world that he may see. This unbreakable memory drives him to the heights of rage and regret, giving his attacks more power.

Glory of Past Days = Memories of Paradise (A):

Anti-Ruler is an existence that once knew paradise, and had it stripped away due to his own actions. In comparison to the gardens, the memories of what comes after are NOTHING BUT TRASH that has no use to him. The skill slowly feeds energy into him to be used for his Viral Phantasm, but as the skill continues to take effect, his view of the world grows darker and darker.

    Every action.

Every view of the world around him.

Everything. It all becomes painted over with his regrets, bringing the sins into stark clarity, showing him the way the world is forever dying, how humans drag each other down to pull themselves up, to earn the right to be pulled down themselves, to see every bit of rot and torture and know it is ALL.

    HIS.

    FAULT.

Personality There is no other being that embodies what an Anti-Servant is better than Anti-Ruler. He is essentially nothing but regret, because all he can see in the world is the consequences of what he has done. None of the growth, none of the potential, merely the constant withering his foolish actions caused in the past. The happiness of the modern world does not exist to him, and the flaws of it are clear as blood.

He simply goes through the motions of being a Servant – curt and morose, unresponsive beyond the barest of orders. But it is far too easy to drive him into a rage. After all, when the very world is built upon your greatest mistake, when you are surrounded by reminders of it…all it takes is one push. When that push is given, he becomes a being of frothing rage and hate, cursing everything around him for being mortal, being flawed, being Sins that he committed. In this state, it is impossible to reach out to him. Just like when he isn't in the throes of fury.

He does not seek the Grail. He fully believes any wish he would make on it would be pointless. Nothing would wipe away his sin. He just…exists. But merely existing in the world is enough to slowly push him to the final point...

    Noble Phantasm
    Garden of Paradise – Eden
    Anti-World

    Rank: [ERROR]

    Noble Phantasm has been lost.

    ...

"...I truly understand it now. The world is a Sin. My original mistake has grown to consume everything, and has tricked the world into thinking otherwise. This world is the sin. And I am its sinner. No matter what...I am always tied to that Sin. So...let's all face the punishment together. And fall into the only place we belong."

    Viral Phantasm
    Wasteland of Sin – Eden

    Anti-Human
    Rank: EX

A complete coalescence of everything Anti-Ruler considers to be his regret – the current state of humanity. The entirety of humankind’s current existence of suffering and pain and grief and mortality – it is all his fault. He regrets their very existence, because their pain is his fault.

This regret at human nature itself is the fuel for Wasteland of Sin. It activates when the ‘disgust’ Anti-Ruler has for the current world reaches a certain peak – to the point that no Command Spell can force him to stop. It is essentially a Bounded Field that ‘reawakens’ the consequences of the Original Sin in humans and drastically increases their potence. This manifests in a rapid withering of those affected, their life energy being drawn into the endless maw of Eden. They will rot, wither, shrivel, and die in pain before turning to a statue of dust. Indeed, it is a terrible fate…

    For humans.

For Servants, they face a different result. Consider their legends, the world that shaped them. Consider how they existed because the world was like this. Consider the origin of the world's current state.

Consider how Anti-Ruler views the world.

The result of Wasteland of Regrets on Servants is simple – if they cannot resist the effect, they will immediately be turned into an Anti-Servant. They will receive a Viral Phantasm that is essentially the withering effect of Wasteland of Sin, given a ‘coat of paint’ to tie back it to their legend. They will receive the Bane skill. And they will be broken. The withering effect in their new Viral Phantasm will slowly affect them, as it also affects Anti-Ruler.

In the end, Anti-Ruler will wither away from the influence of his own power, leaving the world to deal with the sins he left behind.

    ...

...is there...something else? “How long has it been since this play was set into motion?”

“Some claim humans evolved. Others that they were created. And this origin has them be the result of a fool’s trust in yet another fool.”

“It is one first act of many first acts in the cycle of regret that is human nature.”

“To know is to understand what you lack. To lack is to look back and see what you have lost, or could have had.”

“To do so is to regret.”

“The perfect introduction for our show of purest tragedy.”

    “To put it simply…”

“I hope you don't mind me borrowing this, --------.”

A name that is not is spoken.

A mask leaves the pit of regret unnoticed, with a skip in their step.

    Class Skills

    Presence Concealment (Explosion) — B--
It is said that Queen Seondeok was never married, for she didn't release the same "scent" as other women around her had.
The term "scent", of course is metaphorical—for reasons unknown, perhaps because of her role as Silla's female king, Seondeok was viewed as undesirable by the men around her.
Except for one man, a beggar called Jigwi, whose love for the Queen was so ferocious that at nights of days in which he saw her, he would chant her name like a mantra, endlessly and without any sign of stopping. He would go to sleep chanting her name, then wake up and remain chanting it as if it was sacred. Jigwi did not eat nor drink for days, doing nothing but speaking of her, praying for her, thinking of her, saying her name. Eventually, this unthinkable attraction resulted in his death, as his heart combusted in a spontaneous display, burning his whole body into a majestic flame that burned to the rhythm of Seondeok's heart, expressing his undying yearning for his Empress.
Empress Seondeok is generally unnoticeable, unless one is perceptive in the ways of an aristocrat. She makes no move to conceal herself, but people tend to ignore her presence.
Those who take notice cannot keep their eyes away. Her appearance, her beauty, captures the mind once it has reeled into its rhythm. Like a captivating flytrap, the victim is allured by her unassuming disposition. If they fail to combat the mental suggestion, they will eventually burn alive and combust from the insanity that overtook them.

    Territory Construction — C+
The ability to create blueprints for workshops that function per the philosophy of Yin and Yang.
Queen Seondeok is famous for having an exquisite understanding of the importance of the layout of the land, as well as the societal benefits of religious buildings and the heartwarming begotten from temples and architectural art pieces.
Her constructions raise the spirits of her allies, as well as providing benefits for mages, particularly those who deal with the philosophy of Yin and Yang, astrology, jewelry and sacred geometry.

    Personal Skills

    Imperial Privilege (Charity) — B
To satisfy the worries of her people, Seondeok executed a series of policies that aimed at appeasing the naysayers, especially the peasants, the poor and the unfortunate. She sent royal inspectors to improve the lives of widows, widowers, orphans, the poor and the elderly. She paid tribute to the Tang Dynasty twice, though they denied her for her being a woman. On her second year of rule, she built an observatory, Cheomseongdae, to provide astronomical observations for the peasant farmers to ease their harvest. At a time of war, Seondeok told her royal subjects to tear down her palace and uses its materials to build a magnificent religious tower, the Hwangnyongsa, if they thought they lacked the funds, to consolidate the passion and faith of her people in the stability of the kingdom. In essence, she was willing to do anything to get on the good side of the male aristocracy, and to be respected by the citizens of Silla. As such, Seondeok can learn all sorts of Skills to perform grandiose acts of charity for her allies.

    분황사
    Fragrance of the Royal Temple
    A

Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty sent Queen Seondeok a paintng of three peony flowers: red, purple, and white, along with the corresponding seeds. The Queen remarked that even if they were to grow the seeds and allowed them to bloom, they wouldn't have a fragrance. Soon, she was proven correct; she explained that this was all a mockery of her, and the fact that she wasn't married. Just like the flowers in the painting had no bees or butterflies fluttering around them, because the flowers didn't have a fragrance, neither did she have suitors because she 'lacked the fragrance of a sweet flower.' In response to this transgression, Queen Seondeok built the Bunhwangsa.
Akin to a certain Queen's three riddles, Seondeok can summon three Geumgan-yeoksa bodyguards adorned with peony flowers: red, purple, and white. Teasingly, she would claim that these bodyguards are there to protect her from those delusional enough to smell her royal, elusive fragrance.

    Bone-Rank — A
According to the disputed Hwarang Segi, Queen Seondeok's father had no son, thus he was obliged to explore different venues. Coming to consider his son-in-law, Kim Yongsu, as a plausible candidate for the crown of the Kingdom of Silla, King Jinpyeong had to contend with the futility of his lineage. In delivering the kingship to someone unrelated to him by blood and bone, the King would've brought much shame to his three daughters. Seondeok couldn't let such transgression pass, and implored her father to let her contend for the crown—through hardships and trials, Seondeok proved herself before her people, and grasped her rightful spot at the helm of her nation!
According to the historical text Samguk Sagi, she was chosen because there was no available male of Seonggol ranking, in accordance with the bone-rank caste system.
Due to the divine nature of her skeletal structure, Queen Seondeok can create ecosystems within her bones that facilitate the growing and fabrication of a variety of holy flowers. The hollowness of her bones contains a wide variety of divine plants: Silk Flowers that allow for walking on water, Mugunghwa which represents an eternal endurance before change, the lotus which sharpens the mind, as well as the

BOND The Day The Stars Fell
    Heavenly Growth Sprout
    A Star Ascending!

When one of the highest members of her court, a man named Bidam whom she'd promoted, raised a rebellion against Her Majesty, the Great Renowned Emperor Woman King Seondeok, her illness flared and brought unto her a disease equivalent to a great calamity. Such horror struck her right as she was about to conduct a swift quelling of the rebellion, too! And on top of that, a star fell as she fell ill herself, a heavenly omen to her declining status. Yet, by the cunning of a member of her staff, a huge kite with a burning scarecrow attached to it was raised to the sky, making it appear as if the star had returned to its position in the night sky. When Queen Seondeok is fatally hit by an attack, she will return from the brink of death in an act of resurrection, and her body will be coated with the burning flame of a shooting star. Her flowers will be coated with stardust, and her guardsmen will be like meteors descending on the scene.

A quicky. This sheet holds no value to me whatsoever. Wrote it in 24hrs. Something something "wow I can't believe there are two legs in a vast desert that accentuate my point on the inevitable downfall necessitated by time."

Seongjohwanggo: New Salt Pillar content! Finally! I know you say you have no emotional investment in this sheet, but that doesn't stop it from being a damn good sheet. Not only is she a fascinating person to begin with, I love how well her kit meshes Caster and Assassin elements without using the dreaded Double Summon crutch. She may have been called a scentless flower, but her allure has certainly captured me! Hope this is a sign of more to come, because I've really missed your work!

I have returned at last. The reason for my absence being that I've been experiencing severe writers block these past few weeks, so here's a "literal who?" (for anyone that hasn't passed through the British education system at least) from a book I've been reading recently in order to shake off some of the rust.

    ----

    Avenger

I never thought mages essential. They’re crude and cabalistic. But maybe Master, you’ve got a glimmer of potential, if allied with my vision and brains…

    True Name: John Dudley
    Epithet: “The Wicked Duke
    Region: Britain (16th Century)
    Alignment: Neutral Evil
    Likes: Exploration, Family
    Dislikes: Disobedience, Sickness
    Talents: Card Games, Oration
    Natural Enemy: Bloody Mary

    Parameters
    STR: (B) END: (C) AGI: (B) MGI: (E) LCK: (D) NP: (C)

    Character
Avenger takes the form of John Dudley, the Lord High Admiral and Lord of the Council of England who played a pivotal role in the backstabbing political intrigues of the Tudor Dynasty - to which he is remembered as the “Wicked Duke” in contrast to his eternal rival - Edward Seymour the “Good Duke”. Of trivia, thanks to his success, he was created the Duke of Northumberland - the first person in England not of royal blood to be given a Dukedom.

Dudley cuts an imposing figure: tall, muscular and with a booming voice - few in life wanted to risk his ire as his strong temperament was something to fear. He was not a brute however, as foreign ambassadors noted that he could explain his ideas intelligently and held a regal dignity that allowed him to govern the country on behalf of the child king. The English Diplomat Richard Morrison famously described his former superior Dudley as a man who had three or four purposes when going about any single task, his pithy remark highlighting Dudley’s scheming nature as a man whose every public action had secondary benefits, fallback plans, and hidden agendas as he navigated the factional wars of the volatile Tudor court like a chess player until he came out on top as the shadow dictator. Although his reputation as the “Wicked Duke” has become infamous to the point of caricature in the centuries since his death, Dudley is not without his positive traits such as his belief in working hard due to the fact that his long absences from court due to his hypochondria did not decrease his high output of paperwork at all, or him brokering a deal to endure public humiliation at his execution so that Bloody Mary would spare his beloved sons from sharing his fate.

Incarnated as a Heroic Spirit of Vengeance - an Avenger Class Servant, Dudley has seen better days. His iconic red mantle is tattered and his face is more gaunt and sleep deprived than usual. Nevertheless he still tries to portray a positive image in front of others, modeling himself after his heroic ancestors in the Hundred Years War as a grizzled, experienced soldier. He will immediately try to position himself as an advisor to his Master, trying to whisper into their ear and manipulate them into making decisions that he wants whilst thinking that they reached such conclusions by themselves. Although his intentions may be nefarious, Dudley always maintains a pragmatic streak, such as how despite defeating the Kett Rebellion in life, he immediately argued for pardoning the majority of the rebels as he identified that executing the revolting farmers would irreparably damage the agricultural industry. Dudley deeply cares about his family’s image and so the easiest way to break his composure would be to bring up some of the historical slander such as “son of a traitor” or “grandson of a carpenter” - the former a reference to his father’s execution for (false) treason charges and the latter a rhetorical jab designed to question his noble heritage.

In a Holy Grail War, Dudley is eager to join in without hesitation. Famously in the invasion of Scotland, despite having relinquished his military position to become a political Minister, Dudley forgo his station and accompanied the Good Duke to war in order to lead the vanguard as he had a personal taste for combat. Noted for being the most skillful of his generation on both foot and on horseback, Dudley has a strong desire to test his spear and his mettle against the abilities of Heroic Spirits of antiquity to see how he compares and will start by trying to meet them head on in battle. Yet he is no fool and if he cannot outmuscle them then he will quickly retreat and instead use all the resources at his disposal in order to strategically engineer their demise.

His Wish upon the Grail? Although he confessed at his execution that the only thing that weighed on his conscience was the false charges he brought against the Good Duke in order to have him killed, Dudley in his Avenger state can spare him no second thought as he is enraged by the fact that after his death, Bloody Mary had completely reneged on their deal and had Dudley’s teenage son Guildford executed. Therefore his plan is to use the Grail to change history to where he did not peacefully surrender power to Mary and instead stuck to his initial plan to go to war with her so that he would have full control of the English throne at last.

    Skills
    Class Skills

    Avenger - (B)
A Class Skill of the Avenger Servants, representing the state of the punished who gathers hatred and grudges onto oneself. As Dudely takes damage in battle, it stokes the flames of his desire for vengeance and he unintuitively becomes faster and stronger in response. However the more this Skill is used, the more rage filled Richard becomes and the stronger the chances of his Noble Phantasm activating and so this Skill is a double edged sword.

    Oblivion Correction - (B)
A Class Skill of the Avenger class. People are creatures that forget many things, but an Avenger never forgets the one who inflicted the scars of defeat. The critical effect of Avengers whose attacks are overlaid with those painful memories are strengthened. Dudley will never forget the humiliation he suffered at the hands of Bloody Mary in addition to the ill treatment his family had from the Tudors in general. Therefore his Critical Rolls gain a 2x damage modifier against both anyone connected to that era as well as monarchs in general.

    Self-Replenishment [Mana] - (E)
A Class Skill of the Avenger class. The user’s Magical Energy endlessly surges until their revenge is accomplished - recovering a minuscule amount of magical energy every turn. As Dudley was not a Mage in life and he came from an age where magic was already in decline, he has this Skill at a very low Rank. Fortunately he does not require large amounts of mana and so he invests any gains this Skill grants into his Noble Phantasm.

    Personal Skills

Command of the High Admiral - (B)
A Skill given to military-orientated Servants that achieved their fame for fighting and leading troops on the high seas. Prior to pursuing a more political path in life, Dudley dedicated himself to naval matters, achieving the highest rank as Lord High Admiral and created the Council for Marine Causes - refining the coordination amongst the English Navy to transform it into the most efficient in Europe at the time. By grasping and analyzing the current situation, as long as there is even a 1% chance of survival, Dudley’s tactical mind will perceive the optimal route as a silver thread and by following it can turn the tables of battle. The more data Dudley has access to and the less of a factor luck plays, the higher the chance of this Skill resolving successfully. In addition, any allied Servants carrying out his commands will receive temporary boosts to their Parameters in battle.

Incitement of the Demagogue - (A)
A mental attack caused by the words and gestures designed to arouse the negative emotions in other people to control them. As a shadow dictator who controlled both the king and the Council of England with nothing but words alone, Dudley was a master of manipulation and could even get his political enemies executed on the flimsiest of false charges in order to advance his agenda. By merely applying a little magical energy to his words, they create a hypnotic effect that has a chance of pulling the listeners under Dudley’s influence. He can incite a mob of civilians to assault an enemy Master or use them as human shields to ward off other Heroic Spirits from attacking. Even Dudley’s own Master is not safe as if he feels they aren’t cooperating he will use this Skill to “guide” them into making more suitable courses of action.

    Subversive Activities - (C)
The talent for reducing enemy numbers and the effectiveness of their actions through subversion and sabotage. However the higher the Rank of this Skill, the more one's spiritual status as a hero declines. Dudley was one of the key players in the invasion of Scotland and the primary reason for his many military victories was his willingness to engage in stratagems that betrayed the Chivalric Code yet guaranteed victory. The most famous instance was the Battle of Pinkie Cleugh where Dudley used smoking fires as a diversion to ambush the enemy from behind and when the Scots changed positions to return fire, they found they were blinded as the sun was behind Dudley’s men. Naturally this Skill doesn’t strengthen Dudley, but rather allows his methodology to invite a Fumble Check from the opponent if they fall afoul of one of his schemes which can drastically weaken the opponent in a critical moment to clench victory.

    Noble Phantasm

    The Wicked Duke
    The Devil Rideth Forth

[Type: Anti-Unit], [Rank: C], [Maximum Range: 0], [Maximum Number of Targets: 1]

Following Dudley’s fall from grace and death, the new regime under Bloody Mary had little reason to rehabilitate his image and so encouraged the popular Tudor trend of critics and chroniclers using polemical rhetoric in order to dehumanise one’s opponents and painting their nature as bestial or demonic in character. For Dudley, it was easy to make a caricature out of him as his family was so deeply tied to the “Bear and Ragged Staff” emblem that featured on the clothes of himself and his men. What once emphasised strength and nobility was easily reinterpreted as savagery and a hunger for power. Even as early as his execution, the crowd jeered at Dudley by making animal noises to mock him.

Thus the centuries of propaganda have coalesced into a diabolical factor - a second “Duke” hidden within Dudley that he normally tries to suppress. The two have a symbiotic relationship as the Wicked Duke absorbs the anger and grudges of those around Dudley, and converts it into magical energy that allows him to exceed his usual human limitations for a brief amount of time. However the more power the Wicked Duke absorbs, the more it is able to influence Dudley’s mind and actions which takes the form of episodes where he does not remember where he was or what he was doing.

When the Wicked Duke has gained enough energy, it will wait for an opportune moment when Dudley’s life is in danger or he is otherwise mentally compromised and it will try to take over his body in order to become the dominant personality. This results in a visceral transformation, tearing through Dudley’s clothes as his body contorts and changes - hair erupting across his skin into a coat of fur, the bones in his spine crack and pop as it elongates and curves, teeth sharpening into razor fangs and the jaw lurches forward into a snout shape. Picking up his spear which has lost its blade and has sprouted jagged branches to become a ragged staff, the Wicked Duke’s shapeshift into an infernal bear will have become complete.

Whilst this Noble Phantasm does degrade Dudley from a Heroic Spirit in more of a Demon Beast, it has the advantages of not being bound by a weak human’s body and can absorb magical energy from the surroundings to amplify itself. Similarly the Wicked Duke loses some of the finesse in combat, but makes up for it with its ferocious savagery in battle where it is closer to fighting a natural phenomena. Naturally as the Duke is the epitome of evil intent, its goals are not necessarily aligned with Dudley’s pragmatic villainy - especially when it comes to his Master’s safety and so the Duke should be avoided as it runs wild. Eventually it will gradually start to exhaust itself and Dudley will try to reassert control over their shared body. If his Master does attempt to stop the Duke’s senseless rampage, the best course of action would be to try and remind Dudley/Duke of his precious sons that he fought so hard for in the past and Dudley might start coming to his senses faster.

    Lore
Born at the beginning of the 16th Century, John Dudley was the son of Edmund Dudley - the Speaker of the House of Commons who was executed for corruption and treason by the newly ascended Henry VIII, who needed a scapegoat for his father’s poor financial policies. The now fatherless John was taken in by Sir Edward Guildford, the Master of the Armoury and John gradually took over the role, being responsible for the King’s armour. Marrying his master’s daughter Jane, John quickly climbed in the ranks of prestige, securing wealth, land and military victories to the point where despite his initial poor reputation as the “son of a traitor”, he became both a Viscount and the Lord High Admiral of the Navy and was even invited to take part in the Christenings of both Princess Elizabeth and Prince Edward.

But merely restoring his family’s reputation was not enough for Dudley, his ambition was to soar even higher and secure a greater legacy through his deeds. His great success earned him a place on the King’s “Privy Council” and Henry VIII was so enamoured with him that they even played cards together as the king was slowly dying in his bed. When Henry did die, Dudley was one of the executors chosen to carry out the late king’s will and together they decided to make the Duke of Somerset the “Lord Protector” who was responsible for governing England on behalf of Henry’s son who was only a child and could not do it himself until he came of age. This was a fateful decision as although they got on well in person, the Duke would be a thorn in Dudley’s side and their rivalry over control of the country would become infamous.

Publicly, Dudley obeyed all of the Somerset’s orders faithfully - he destroyed the Kett Rebellion and led the vanguard in the invasion of Scotland, but all the while he waited patiently for something to happen that would give him leverage over the Duke. Eventually he saw his chance when Somerset's younger brother Baron Seymour grew resentful of the Duke’s power yet would not share it with him, and so Seymour attempted to kidnap the child king in a coup d'etat but was arrested for treason and executed. This family scandal alongside the general social unrest from Somerset’s poor governance meant that no one objected at pinning the blame on him. Sensing Dudley’s bid for power, Somerset vainly attempted to raise some troops and barricaded himself in Windsor Castle alongside the king. But Dudley united the rest of the Privy Council against him and the military was sent in to arrest the Duke, with Dudley now unopposed as the leader of the Council.

Although Somerset was acquitted of treason, he had completely fallen from grace and so when Dudley was elevated to the Dukedom of Northumberland, he had his former rival take part in the ceremony. But Somerset still had political sympathisers who plotted to overthrow Dudley and so to take no chances, he had false charges of a planned “banquet massacre” brought forth against the Duke and whispered into the king’s ear that he should be executed to which the king agreed and Somerset lost his head to the axe. Astutely, Dudley declined taking over the position of Lord Protector and instead presented himself as the king’s humble servant and principle minister who would oversee the king’s transition into a full time monarch.

Things continued relatively smoothly under Dudley’s watch, until 1553 when the king contracted tuberculosis whilst his immune system had been compromised and it was clear he was not going to recover. Under normal rules of succession, the king’s sister Mary Tudor would inherit the throne which would be a disaster since she was a zealous Catholic who opposed England’s divorce from the Vatican and would reject Dudley and company’s Protestant influence. Therefore Dudley hired a female quack who concocted various arsenic potions that forcibly kept the king alive to buy time, but caused him excruciating pain. Dudley did not care one bit and only thought about convincing the king to make a will which would disinherit everyone but his cousin Lady Jane Grey - completely unaware that Dudley had secret arrangements to have Jane marry his son Guildford. This would make Dudley the founding father of a new royal dynasty that could potentially rule England for generations to come and make him a mythic figure. Once the will was signed, Dudley dismissed the quack and the king finally succumbed to his illness and died.

There was one significant problem which was Mary Tudor who did not accept the will as legitimate and started amassing troops to force the Privy Council to recognise her as Queen. Dudley faced a dilemma which was that as the most experienced military man, he ought to lead the forces against Mary, but that would mean leaving the government to the hands of his colleagues which he didn’t trust. He chose the former which led to his downfall as just before he could even engage in combat, a letter arrived from London announcing the Council had accepted Mary’s demands and Dudley must disband and await further orders. Choosing not to push his luck, Dudley acquiesced and returned to London to find himself now a villain who was rumoured to have assassinated the previous king and the people of London attempted to mob him - a reversal of public image so sudden and extreme that it left the foreign ambassadors to England dumbfounded as to what just occurred.

Dudley was arrested and convicted of treason by a panel of jury and judges made up entirely of his former colleagues. Dudley begged Mary for mercy upon his five sons who were condemned alongside him and suddenly Dudley’s execution was delayed to allow him to take Catholic Communion where he recanted his Protestant faith. This blatant political propaganda was transcribed and distributed throughout the land and even into the territories of the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V who had always publicly backed Mary. When he was taken to the scaffold, Dudley confessed his guilt to the crowd but made cryptic remarks about his conspirators whom he would not name. The foreign ambassadors quickly learned that it was best not to ask too many questions about what really went on in that trial, with history dramatically repeating as just like his father before him, Dudley found himself the scapegoat being punished to bolster a new incoming regime. Regardless, Dudley himself was the only one of his family executed at the time and he was the first of many political victims of the woman who would later become infamous as “Bloody Mary”.

Perhaps the greatest irony of all was that Dudley’s son Robert was the close childhood friend of Princess Elizabeth and so when she wrested control over the throne from Mary, Robert came dangerously close to marrying her if not for the shadow of Dudley’s treason years ago making it politically unviable. Thus had Dudley not have done anything, he might have gotten his wish of having his son (albeit a different one) marry a Queen after all.

    Relationships
Artoria - “Ah yes, I do recall Henry spending much time on his deathbed recounting his royal ancestry to me. He was so adamant that the Tudors were direct descendants of the illustrious King Arthur. ”

Charles Henri Sanson - “I’m afraid I give a wide berth to executioners after getting a taste of the blade myself.”

Christopher Columbus - “Oh to have been born a century earlier. I would have loved to have raced you to tame the New World.”

Eric Bloodaxe - “Though you may claim to be the King of Northumbria, I refuse to acknowledge any power you claim to have over me.”

Francis Drake - “Although I held little love for Elizabeth, it pleases me that in the end she won out over that vile Mary.”

Geṓrgios - “Unbelievable to think that if Edward had his way, you and the rest of the Saints would have been excised from England in an iconoclasm.”

Jeanne D’Arc - “For the sake of my ancestors who fought you in the Hundred Year War, I must not disappoint them.”

Richard the Lionheart - “How wonderful to meet the famous Lionheart that my esteemed ancestor Waleran had crowned.”

Thomas Edison - “I find it deeply ironic that the US put a relief of Montfort in their Congress building. I guess they don’t think too deeply about that sort of thing.”

William Shakespeare - “I take it your patrons found it politically expedient that no mention of me should be found in your Henry VIII play?”

    Creator's Notes
When real life is more crazy than any book in the Game of Thrones series.

For real though, the Tudor period is so dense with adventure, romances and political intrigue that just condensing it into an abridged version of Dudley’s POV does it a serious disservice. Mostly inspired by reading the non-fiction book “Children of England: The Heirs of King Henry VIII” by historian Alison Weir. There may be one or two other figures from that book that I am interested in tackling in the future.

As you may have guessed, this is the figure I was struggling with the NP for and asked for advice on a little while back. Ultimately I didn’t pick any of the specific suggestions as they weren’t something I could quite envision on Dudley.

The Faceclaim is Archduke Elwin Rosfield from “Final Fantasy XVI”. That said, the character as a whole is influenced more by Scar from Disney’s “The Lion King”.

As always, all comments and criticisms are duly welcomed~

Because of severe writer's block, the NP was the literal last thing written for the sheet so I wasn't thinking about it at the time.

Marie-Jeanne Valet - Dame du Gévaudan

Hello everyone, this is my first attempt at a OC Servant, outside a meme in the Fate RPG group I play, it took me a while to put things on a state I feel confident in showing, but here goes:

“Lancer, Marie-Jeanne Valet, pleased to meet you, Master.”

    Name: Marie-Jeanne Valet
    Class: Lancer
    Alignment: Neutral Good
    Attribute: Man
    Region: France
    Height: 158
    Weight: 55
    Gender: Female
    Likes: Peace, Simple Things
    Dislikes: Beasts, Monsters
    Talent: Housekeeping
    Natural Enemy: Beast of Gevaudan

    Class Skills:
    Spoiler:
    Magic Resistance E
-Grants protection against magical effects. Differing from the Resistance effect that merely rejects Magical Energy, this ability cancels the spells altogether. At this Rank, cannot cancel spells, but magic damage is reduced somewhat. As a commoner who never encountered magic in her life and being from a recent era, she has a very low Rank on this skill.

    Personal Skills:
    Spoiler:
    Beast-Slayer D
-The ability to unleash a special attack towards Magical Beasts and wild animals. Given her story of standing and harming the Beast of Gevaudan, she has a low Rank on this skill, it gives her a bonus when fighting against beasts.

    Bravery C
-The ability to negate mental interference such as pressure, confusion and fascination. It also has the bonus effect of increasing melee damage. Not usable under the effects of Mad Enhancement. Standing against a monster that terrorized a region instead of giving herself to fear.

Eye of the Mind (False) C
-A natural talent to foresee/sense and avoid danger on the basis of an innate 6th sense, intuition, or prescience. The accuracy of this instinct can be augmented by experience. The ability also grants an effect of offering resistance against penalties caused by visual obstructions. Like an instinct, turning just in time to see the beast standing behind her and pulling a homemade spear to protect herself.

    Noble Phantasm:
    Spoiler:
Dame du Gévaudan – A Stand Against the Beast
    Rank: C (Anti-Unit)

-A recreation of her stand with a homemade spear against the Beast of Gevaudan. She stands and strikes with her spear at the chest of the opponent, hitting with great precision and wounding it, this wound will remain until the target dies, it’s not a curse, but a recreation of an event, the target is defined as the “Beast of Gevaudan” and when stroke, the wound will remain, debilitating the target by ranking down it’s physical parameters by a Rank. This hit will not kill, as the event is that the Beast of Gevaudan lived, but the injury will remain for the rest of its life.

    Personality:
    Spoiler:
-Lancer is a caring and gentle girl, who likes to be in company of other people, acting like a big sister, she tends to care for the well-being of those around her, always smiling and always trying her best to help.
-She is a gentle person with a good heart and a cheerful personality, very passionate about the things she likes, often distracting herself a little too much talking about them.
-Liking the simple things and the simplicity of life, most of her free time she spends doing simple and mundane things, feeling good by working in the simplest tasks, like cooking a good meal with a cheerful smile.
-Despite being a Lancer Class Servant, she isn’t a soldier, nor she has any kind of training, she’s but a normal girl, who was at the right place and the right time, often trying to understand how someone like her became a Servant.
-Because of the many attacks in Gevaudan region by the Beast, she isn’t found of beasts and monsters in general, preferring to maintain her distance from them, but would such monsters threaten the innocent, she would stand to keep them safe.
-A brave girl who will try her best to protect the ones important to her, despite that, on a battlefield, she has a little trouble with the chaos sometimes, but even so, she will go and try her best.

    Lore:
    Spoiler:
Between 1764 and 1767, an unknown but terrifying beast stalked the residents of the region of Gevaudan, attacking and killing over a hundred people, and injuring more. The suspect: an enormous red-black wolf, preying on citizens who strayed too far from the safety of their homes.
All-out battle was declared on the beast, with thousands of men seeking their chance to be the triumphant victor. Even King Louis XV was moved by the plight of the citizens of Gevaudan, and sent his own hunters to the front. Antoine de Beauterne, gun-bearer to the king and leader of the hunt for the beast, recorded the story of how the king's men were nearly shown up by a girl.
Marie-Jeanne Valet, a housemaid of 19 years and her sister Thérèse were on the way to Paulhac. The Beast attacked Marie-Jeanne, but she thrust a spear into his chest. The Beast screamed and brought its front paw to the wound, throwing itself into the water and rolling several times before disappearing in the current.
On 11 August, Antoine organized a great hunt. That day saw the feat of the "Maid of Gevaudan". The story quickly reached Antoine, who went to the scene. He found that the spear was indeed covered in blood and that the traces found were similar to those of the beast.
In a sworn testimony recorded in 1765, Beauterne recounted Valet's story of her near miss and attempt at killing the feared beast, which she described as looking like an unusually large dog. According to the account, Marie-Jeanne Valet, a homemaid of 19 years and her sister Thérèse were on the way to Paulhac, they were crossing between branches of a river through a small wooded area when, as if an instinct telling her to do, she turned to discover the beast immediately behind her. The Beast attacked Marie-Jeanne, but she thrust a spear into his chest. The Beast screamed and brought its front paw to the wound, throwing itself into the water and rolling several times before disappearing in the current.
Antoine then, sent a letter to Saint-Florentin, Minister of the King's House, telling the story and comparing Marie-Jeanne to Joan of Arc, he nicknamed her the "Maid of Gevaudan". She did not get a reward and the Beast resumed its attacks.
In the following years, she married, worked with her husband as an innkeeper and arrested during a harsh winter for theft and disruption of the grain trade and was imprisoned in Aigues-Mortes. Later, back in the village, she lived through the drama of her husband's assassination in 1784 and died on December 12 of 1787 at the age of about 41.
Later, in 1995, a statue of her fighting the Beast of Gevaudan was created in Auvers, a monument, representing Marie-Jeanne Vallet's fight against the Beast and symbolizing the resistance of rural populations in the face of the scourge that assailed them.

    Dialogues:
    Spoiler:
    Summon:
“Lancer, Marie-Jeanne Valet, pleased to meet you, Master.”

    Bond 1:
“It’s strange, being summoned as a Servant, I don’t know if I have the qualifications to be one, but I will do my best, both as your Servant and as a big sister to make sure you’re safe from monsters Master.”
    Bond 2:
“I think I’m getting used to being a Servant, but it’s still a little hard, being around so many great heroes and famous people from all around the world. Eh, I’m famous too? I-I know it, but… It’s, okay? I’m doing well? I-I see… thank you.”
    Bond 3:
“Why I fought the Beast of Gevaudan? It’s… not like that, I didn’t fight it, I was in the way to Paulhac with my sister Thérèse, because of the stories, I improvised a spear and brought it with me, I simply stroke it, it really wasn’t a fight at all, just a self-defense moment, I was going to protect Thérèse from it, luckily, it worked.”
    Bond 4:
“Master, it’s a really good day, isn’t it? Ah, the storm outside? I’m not talking about the climate; it’s always a good day if you’re with people who are close and important to you. Eh, you mean it’s good to be around me too? I-I see… Then this big sister will do her best help you in your journey, so please, hang on to that hope and smile.”
    Bond 5:
“I’m not the soldier or the great hero who fought legendary monsters, I’m not a great inventor, nor am I a famous leader of a country, I’m just me, just a plain common country girl, who did the right thing, who was at the right place and time, so please, Master, don’t think so low of yourself, even if you’re just a common person, the time will come, when you will do great things, and this big sister here will be rooting for you, from wherever I may be at time.”

    About Master and Servant:
“Master and Servant relationship? Is it like working as a housemaid? No? In that case, I don’t know how to answer, but don’t worry, I will try my best to protect you, like any good older sister would.”

    Something You Like:
“A sunny day, laying on a grass hill with the wind blowing, it is one the best sensations ever and a good homemade meal, it’s always good to have one at these moments”

    Something You Dislike:
“Beasts, monsters, they're evil, kill and attack others, I don’t like them, that
    Beast of Gevaudan
    Beast
    in special.”

    About the Holy Grail:
“The Holy Grail? I don’t think I’m worthy of it, but if I could make a wish, it would be for the innocent to live happily, without any beasts or monsters threatening them.”

    Birthday:
“Today is your birthday? Why didn’t you tell me sooner? We need to start making something.”
Start panicking thinking about a good present
“Calm down? Oh, right, sorry, at least let me make a good cake for you.”

    Dialogue 1 (French Servants):
“So many great heroes and famous people, I can’t, I’m not on the same level as them, but it’s like a dream seeing them in person, eh, talk to them? N-no, no, no, I-I can’t.”
    Run away
    Dialogue 2 (Monster Servants):
“Even here monsters exist, engraved in history, Master, is it really okay to bring them in here?”
    Dialogue 3 (Beast of Gevaudan):
“That Beast, it caused terror, slaughtered many, I knew I had to protect my sister on the way, but to thought that one day I would face it again…”
    Dialogue 4 (Jeanne d’Arc):
“S-Saint Joan, i-it’s an honor to meet you. C-calm down? I-I see, sorry, Antoine compared us both, but… I’m not on the same level as a Saint… Ah, it doesn’t matter the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog? I… didn’t understand it well, but… I-I see… thank you.”
    Dialogue 5 (William Tell):
“A hunter? I see, so… you’re like Antoine? No? I see, there really is many types of hunters.”

    Creator Remarks:
I wished something simple, a common person who did a great deed with her own strenght, a person who was at the right place and time; and acted with what she could do.
Feel free to criticize, anything that could be better worked or there was a better way to work with.
I used a format of short topics to make easier for me to make her personality.

As for the servant I said I made in a meme within the playgroup, I'll post it here too at a later date, it's Deitchine, a Rider Class Servant, who because of circunstances, got a alternative version of my character as a Demi-Servant in the Saber Class.

And now, wrapping everything up, enjoy a new OC Servant, bye!

    True Name: Ara Gełec‘ik
    Origin: Armenian mythology
    Region: Armenia
    Alignment: Neutral Good
    Gender: M
"Shamiram wouldn't happen to be around here, would she?"

Ara is a tall man, not impressively muscular but built with broad shoulders. His hair is dark and curly, short around the front and sides, but running as a long braid down his back. His skin bears the so-called "olive complexion" of West Asia and the Mediterranean.
In his first stage, he is clothed in a colorful multi-layered robe and a traditional Armenian crown.
In his second, he is dressed like a warrior, wearing a splendid and regal exaggeration of the armor of his time, and is now seen with a spear and shield. His helmet is a fusion of the prior stage's crown and the tall spire-like helmet worn by historical warriors of his ilk.
In his third stage, he is wearing burial garb: a white linen tunic, decorated with a scarf and embroidered patches. No longer wearing a helmet, he has visible dog ears, and a dog's tail is now visible behind him, having been intentionally hidden under his clothes in the previous stages. Both resemble those of the Armenian gampr. His long hair isn't braided anymore, either, so it falls down his back and onto his shoulders considerably.
His final ascension art displays him in a dark palace bedroom, gazing longingly out a window to the city on a bright and sunny day. Not only are his ears and tail visible, but even his wings are folded behind him.

    Parameters
    ST: C
    EN: A
    AG: C
    MN: A
    LK: D++
    NP: B

    Background 1:
Ara Gełec‘ik, or "the Beautiful", seventh king of Armenia, descendant of the legendary founder Hayk. Such was his beauty that he even attracted a foreign queen- one he knew as Shamiram, better known as Semiramis.

    Background 2:
Enraptured by his handsomeness, Shamiram requested that Ara marry her. When he denied her advances, she was so taken by passion as to gather the armies of Assyria and march on Armenia, commanding her forces to take him alive so he may become her king.

    Background 3:
Although successful in defeating the armies of Armenia, Shamiram failed in accomplishing her true goal- that is to say, in the fighting, Ara was slain. She stole his corpse from the battlefield and proclaimed that she had captured him, whisking him away to a mystic tower in the mountains, where she would work her sorcery to resurrect him. The deities of the land, she claimed, had breathed life back into his body, and to end the war, even if it broke her heart, allowed him to return to Armenia and rule once more.
The city of Lezk maintains to this day that it was their very grounds that held the tower of the revivification.

    Background 4:
Technically, neither the gods of Assyria nor Armenia, and certainly not the magic of Shamiram, were responsible for the resurrection. Rather, it was the aralez, Divine Beasts in the shape of winged dogs. Native to the Armenian mountains, the spirits licked the wounds of warriors such as Ara to return them to life. These spirits inhabited the mountains before even the gods, although some believe the name "aralez" itself is derived from the act of healing Ara in the city of Lezk. Regardless of whether it was their namesake, this myth is the most prominent appearance of the aralez in all of Armenian folklore.

    Background 5:
In reality, however, not even the aralez were capable of truly resurrecting the dead. They may be able to bring one back from the brink, but once someone has truly died, nothing can return their soul to their body. When Ara arose again in the mountains beyond Lezk, his soul had already moved on; the forces controlling his body were the aralez themselves. Shamiram did not release her beloved with sorrow and recitence. Rather, the aralez used their wings to return home themselves, and Shamiram merely covered her tracks by claiming to have allowed him to do so.
Little is told of Ara after his resurrection, and this is no mistake. Knowing the weight of their facade, the aralez hid themself away, quietly ruling their humble kingdom until Ara's body reached a more natural end.
By nesting inside the body of a king at the center of such a salacious tale, the aralez fooled the very world into inscribing them upon the Throne of Heroes, where they were registered as a Pretender.

Personality: Introverted and passive. Although his kingdom is ancient and proud, Armenia is small, and in the years following his own reign, faced near-constant conquest and tragedy. He was, and would be, perfectly happy to rule his people quietly- were it not for his beauty drawing attention from beyond their borders.

King Ara had never been as softspoken as he was when he returned. He may not have wished to expand Armenia's borders, but he was never shying away from the world. It was only when his body was possessed by the aralez that he shrank into his castle. His people thought it was the battle quiet; in reality, the aralez had to avoid the eyes of "his" people, fearing that they may discover that something was amiss. He returned to prevent their hearts from breaking at the loss of their king, but in secret, he faced all their sorrow himself, and they never knew his sacrifice.

    Class Skills:
Magic Resistance B++: The quality of Ara's Magic Resistance is typical for a Heroic Spirit of his age. However, when releasing the True Name of his Noble Phantasm, his Magic Resistance skyrockets to the level of a low-rank Divine Spirit.
Riding C: No part of Ara's story involves him riding a mount of any kind. As a Pretender, Ara grants himself this skill to create the facade of a Rider, by creating the illusion of "Ara the Handsome riding an aralez".

    Personal Skills:
Green Man C: A skill possessed by heroes with the motif of a dying-and-rising deity dating back to antiquity. Typically allows for the restoration of the Spirit Origin after receiving a single killing blow. In Ara's case, its power has been greatly diminished due to the hero not actually having been resurrected. As a result, it is essentially just a form of Battle Continuation with a slight restoration effect.

Affection of the Empress A: Due to her low level of Divinity, Semiramis's unrequited love for Ara manifests as a minor divine blessing. Because of her own legend, this also provides complete immunity to poison effects.

Animal Charisma A+: A hybrid skill consisting of the Animal Communication from the dog spirits, and the Charisma of an ancient king who attracted Semiramis- Charisma so powerful it could be considered a curse. Extends the effects of his Charisma to even lesser life forms such as wild animals, and allows for him to openly communicate with them.

    Noble Phantasm:
    Aralez
    Valkyrie Hounds of Van
    Rank: -
    Type: -
    Range: -
    Maximum Targets: -

The manifested power of the aralez, whether that be merely the growth of wings, or upon True Name Release, the temporary manifestation of an entire beast.
In reality, this is just the true power of the aralez within Ara's body; when masquerading as Ara, the aralez claim to be a Rider who manifests the dogs as his mount.

    Ara Lezk Lizogh
    Licking The King's Wounds
    Rank: B
    Type: Anti-Unit
    Range: 1
    Maximum Targets: 1 person

A transformative Noble Phantasm that can only be invoked by abandoning the True Name of Ara Gełec‘ik, and allowing the Spirit Origin to return the aralez to its original form. This causes Aralez's Parameters to spike across the board, as a result of transforming from a human spirit to an ancient Phantasmal Species. Most importantly, this metamorphosis allows the Aralez to utilize its ability to lick the wounds of the dead and bring them back to life. This revivification effect can only be employed under specific circumstances:
The corpse must have died from a wound. Poisons, disease, fatigue, etc, cannot be restored by the Aralez's lick.
The corpse must belong to a warrior.
The corpse must have yet to significantly decompose or distort.
The soul belonging to the corpse must not have returned to the Root, or otherwise left the body.
Should these circumstances be met, the aralez may utilize an effect similar to a curse of restoration and resurrect the fallen. However, its window of opportunity is narrowed by the Spirit Origin of the aralez rapidly collapsing upon activation. Activating this Noble Phantasm necessitates abandoning the name of Ara Gełec‘ik, and that True Name is the core, the connection to the Throne of Heroes that allows Pretender to manifest. Without a connection to the Throne, nothing can maintain a Servant's existence.

    Craft Essence: Bearer of Sorrows
Humans are ill-equipped to withstand the hardships of life alone. So it comes as no surprise that they sought after a source of unconditional love. A companion who they could cling to in their moments of need- who, no matter what, would never leave their side, and ask for little in return. Someone who could lay stoically beside their grief-stricken owner, absorbing their sobs until their fur was heavy with sadness.
Far away from the humble dog curled up in their friend's lap stand the opulent towers of a king's castle. Always out of reach from his people, living in luxury. And yet, it is the duty of the king to provide unconditional love for his people. It is the duty of the king to ask for nothing in return for everything he gives to them. To stand with them no matter what. To soak in the weight of their grieving tears if it means lightening their burden even slightly.
So, when a pack of dogs saw the lifeless body of a king laid before them, their next course of action was obvious. They would bear the would-be grief of their kingdom for as long as they must. Because that is the duty of a
    dog
    king

Well, my comment on Ara from earlier got eaten, but yeah, the various parts of the sheet fit together well and I like your implementation of the aralez a lot! I do think ther'es a minor detail that slightly hurts the overall vibe of the sheet: referring to animals as lesser lifeforms in Animal Charisma's description. However, that wording is also in Lobo's version of Animal Communication, so I get why you'd keep it.

    Good dog!!

Thanks! I also kinda raised an eyebrow on that line but thought "hey if that's how it works for Lobo, that's how I'll say it here." Plus, I think it does kind of fit, because aralez ARE "greater life forms," they're not just animals. So "lesser" by the standards of a Divine...thing. I am/was kind of waffling on whether they're Divine Spirits, Divine Beasts, or just Phantasmals or something. Anyway, lesser than *them* tracks.

    RIDER

    Identity: Phaethon
    Aliases: The Radiant
    Attributes: Star
    Alignment: Chaotic Good

    Gender: Male
    Source: Greek Myth
    Region: Greece
    Eligibility: Rider
    Armament: The “Torch”
    Likes: Alcohol, novelty, the Sun
    Dislikes: Pretentious people and liars
Catalyst: The tears of his sisters—amber from the Age of Gods

"Servant of the Rider class, my name is Phaethon. I am the Sun that this world rejected, the being who will bring all existence to its end by mere accident, but also the beloved child forever lost to his own pride. Too theatrical, you say? Perhaps… I apologize, Master. I mean no harm, it’s just that my name carries so many meanings for me..."

    Strength: C
    Endurance: D
    Agility: B
    Magic: B
    Luck: E
    N.P: EX

    Class skillsClass skills :

MAGIC RESISTANCE OF THE SUN GOD (C+)

Magic Resistance of the Sun God is a unique magical protection. It manifests physically on its bearer as reddish streaks across their body—Helios’ oil against the solar flames—to prevent anyone but him from being reduced to ashes merely by mounting the Solar Chariot. His Chariot.

In practice, this skill grants the ability to repel mana from all spells of rank C or lower, while flame-based spells will never have any effect on him, regardless of their rank.

"It’s true that thanks to Father… I didn’t completely despair when it came to the Solar Chariot. Sure, it was hot, but… I shouldn’t have died from Zeus’ mere lightning bolt. Without this anointment of the Sun, my father, I would have been incinerated the moment my foot touched that chariot."

    RIDING (A+)

Riding is a skill that indicates a Servant's ability to ride a mount or vehicle. Despite his failure with the Chariot, Phaethon remains an exceptional rider, praised in his legend. This allows him to ride anything—except for his Noble Phantasm.

    Personal skills
    Personal skills :

    MANA BURST (FLAME) (A)

Mana Burst (Flame) is a skill as rare as it is exceptional, allowing Phaethon to manifest flames as scorching as those at the heart of the Sun and infuse them into any of his weapons—including his own body.

["Master! Look at this, I’m burning hot! Maybe even hotter than embers, actually. Well… that’s not really the point, is it? I’m ready for battle."

    INDEPENDENT ACTION (D+)

Independent Action is a skill usually reserved for Archer-class Servants, granting them the ability to remain materialized for days without their Master's support. For some, it even allows the use of their Noble Phantasm without any mana supply—a truly versatile ability.

In Rider’s case, this skill is granted due to certain circumstances in his life, his stubbornness, and his unwavering will. It allows him to remain materialized for several hours without any mana supply, but more importantly, to fully disobey his Master without suffering any consequences.

    DIVINITY (A)

Divinityis a skill that represents one's divine nature and their eligibility to ascend to the Throne of Heroes. It also measures whether a being qualifies as a Divine Spirit.

In Phaethon’s case, both his parents are divine, yet his mortality and ostracization by the King of the Gods were enough to shatter his Divine Core, rendering him fully mortal and reducing him to nothing more than a divine bastard.

    ["Yeah… It doesn’t really matter anyway… I mean… Who cares."

    DISASTER (A)

Disaster is a skill that brings chaos. Entirely passive, Rider has no control over it. Disaster can, on occasion, cause catastrophe, make the impossible possible—but never in a way that creates. The damage caused by this skill is so severe that it frequently alerts the Counter Force to Rider’s existence, prompting it to erase his body before he can destroy anything further.

"Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned. My arrogance was my only drive.
I never meant to harm anyone.
    I…
    Forgive me, everyone! FORGIVE ME!"

"I… I am nothing but a pale imitation of what I was never meant to be. I am not the SUN—FORGIVE ME, FATHER!"

Disaster is the skill of traitors, of liars, of those who—no matter what they have done, what they intended to do, or what they thought they could accomplish—will never be seen as anything more than a target for all of humanity. Disaster is not meant to be anything but a mark, a brand, a reminder that the world must erase the one responsible for destruction because… failures should never be rewarded.

"FORGIVE ME! ALL OF YOU! FORGIVE ME! FORGIVE ME! FORGIVE ME! FORGIVE ME! FORGIVE ME!"

And yet, the workings of Disaster can sometimes be disturbed—disrupted by an external force, by an entity that wishes to protect this bastard of humanity. Disaster is a mark upon his back, one that calls out to the Counter Force… but also to any being willing to shield this Servant beneath its wing.

Phaethon is nothing but a failure.
He has never been anything more than a failure—a mere attempt, a disappointment to his father.
His Spirit Core should not even exist. In fact, it doesn’t. The World would never bother forming a contract with such an entity. The World is not suicidal.

And yet, someone—something—saw something greater in Phaethon. Something that, perhaps, could be of use to humanity. Something that, with the right guidance, the right purpose, the right Master, might become more than what he truly is.

He had never seen him as a failure. When he saw the lightning strike his chariot, his heart did not ache for the horses, nor for the splintering wood of the vehicle. His heart bled for the smoldering body of his child falling through the skies. It was for him that the Sun itself ceased to shine for a brief moment.

Since the dawn of time, the Sun had made its home in the high heavens of the planet, rising every morning to illuminate the world. But when his son died, the Sun stood still. It was no longer [i]his[i] duty to turn around the Earth; instead, the Earth, and the celestial bodies of the entire system, would now revolve around him—if they wished to be graced by his protective light, if they wished to be shielded by his cosmic presence.

The Sun sacrificed itself so that his son might have a future.
When the World seeks to erase Phaethon, it is not because things might go wrong. It is because the World has already played the odds against him. And since it has dared to toy with him and his son… then the World itself must suffer the consequences.

With each passing moment, Phaethon’s Spirit Core fractures ever further, slowly unleashing the true entity that lies within.

FORGIVE ME! ALL OF YOU! FORGIVE ME! FORGIVE ME! FORGIVE ME! FORGIVE ME! FORGIVE ME!

    Identity
    Sun King

    Helios/Phaethon
    Class: Mooncancer
    Source: Greek Myth
    Region: Greece
    Eligibility: None

    Armament: The "Torch"
Likes: The Sun, his sisters/daughters, his mother/lover
Dislikes: Endymion, the Earth, Apollo, Zeus, the gods

    Catalyst: The tears of his
    daughters
    sisters
—amber from the Age of Gods

"We are no longer truly Phaethon. Call us the Sun King... unless you truly insist on Phaethon..."

    Class skillsClass skills :

MAGIC RESISTANCE OF THE SUN GOD (EX) (RankUp)

Magic Resistance of the Sun God is no longer a mere protection marked by reddish streaks on the body. It has become a fiery halo surrounding Mooncancer, encircling him and devouring any fragment of mana that dares to approach.

It is an absolute defense that forces anyone wishing to attack him to engage in close combat or strike with an authority opposite to his own, such as the Moon or the Ocean. Otherwise, the energy will be consumed by Mooncancer.

"Pathetic, childish. You truly think you can hurt me with these pitiful magical missiles? Miserable. Come back in five or ten thousand years, maybe then you'll have your chance."

    Personal skills
    Personal skills :

    MANA BURST SUN (A)

Mana Burst (Sun) is the evolved, some would say ultimate, version of Mana Burst Flame—a far more powerful incarnation capable of devouring any piece of flesh or metal attempting to attack or break Mooncancer's body, a flame as scorching as the Sun itself.

Any Noble Phantasm below rank C that is not a Divine Construct risks severe consequences, if not complete destruction. Other Noble Phantasms are not immune to this version of Mana Burst, though they are far less vulnerable.

"I am the star in the heart of this Sun. I command the stars and the planets. Who do you think you are? You are nothing more than another failure among so many."

DIVINE CORE OF THE SUN GOD (A) (Rank Up)

Marking the revelation of what he truly is, Phaethon's divinity fades in favor of the Divine Core of Helios. However, it is still tainted by the presence of a mortal within it, especially considering it was housed so deeply within Phaethon's Spirit Core.

This Core demonstrates the inflexibility of the Sun and continuously generates magical energy for Phaethon. This perpetual production shatters every surrounding energy molecule near Mooncancer, forcing it to fuel the Servant’s heart and preventing him from ever running out of Mana. In addition to this feature, the Divine Core also houses several skills related to the Sun:

    Charisma of the Sun
A subcategory of Charisma, granting Mooncancer the abilities to rule as a King.

Eye of the Sun God (True)
A skill that allows absolute vision of everything illuminated by the Sun, synergizing with Mooncancer's Mana Burst (Star). In a way, it provides Mooncancer with a kind of sixth sense, but it disappears once night falls.
The presence of Endymion paralyzes this skill's function.

StoryPhaethon was a young man with sparkling eyes, a solar beauty, and a mind filled with grand dreams. His heart beat with an indomitable impatience, a thirst for greatness that bubbled within him, for he knew he was different from the other young men his age. He carried a heavy but shining secret: his mother had revealed to him that he was not born of a simple mortal, but of a god—and not just any god, but the most glorious and elusive of them all, Helios, the Sun God.

As a child, Phaethon often gazed at the sky, watching the golden chariot race across the horizon, dazzled by its light. But the day his mother told him that Helios was his father, the sky itself suddenly seemed too small to contain his ambition. With the boldness typical of youth, he left his home one morning, swearing to his mother that he would finally meet the one who had fathered him and prove to the world that he was worthy of the celestial lineage.

His journey took him to the ends of the earth, where the light of dawn shines the brightest, to the entrance of Helios' palace. When Phaethon finally stood before his father, Helios recognized him immediately, for the fire in the young man’s eyes was like the one that illuminated the world every day. Filled with pride and tenderness, the Sun God welcomed Phaethon with warm words, even offering him a wish, any wish. But Phaethon, carried away by the fervor of his youth and a burning desire to prove his worth, asked for a favor that Helios had never imagined: he wanted to drive the Sun’s chariot through the sky.

Helios felt his heart tighten with fear. This chariot was no mere carriage; it was the very force of the sun, drawn by divine horses with blazing flames and incandescent gazes. "My son, this task is beyond the reach of any mortal, even you. The heavens are capricious and filled with dangers; only my experienced hand can control these horses. Please, ask me for something else."

But Phaethon remained deaf to his father’s pleas. He felt an uncontrollable flame within him, a need to accomplish something unforgettable, to achieve immortality through an extraordinary act. The fear in his father’s eyes only intensified his desire: this challenge was worthy of his dream.

Resigned, Helios gave in, though with a dark premonition, and entrusted the reins of the chariot to Phaethon. As soon as the young man mounted, the horses, sensing the inexperience of their new driver, became agitated. The chariot soared into the sky with a power Phaethon had never imagined. The reins burned between his fingers, and the light blinded him, but he held on, caught between terror and ecstasy.

However, his lack of experience quickly became evident: the horses, free from all control, ran wild, sending the chariot too high, scorching the stars, and too low, setting forests ablaze and drying up rivers. The oceans began to boil, the mountains cracked under the heat, and the entire world trembled under the intensity of the flames.

In this chaos, Phaethon began to realize the extent of his mistake. His heart, once swollen with pride, shattered as he saw the harm he was causing to the earth. The heat of the chariot became unbearable, and he felt his own body slowly ignite. But it was too late to turn back, too late to hope to correct what had become a nightmare.

The prayers of men reached Zeus himself, who, seeing the earth in peril, had no choice but to put an end to the disaster. In a blinding flash, he hurled a lightning bolt directly at the chariot. Phaethon, struck by the divine thunder, fell from the sky in a trail of fire, plunging toward the earth like a shooting star, a broken wish. He was extinguished in the waters of the river Eridanus, whose icy currents engulfed him and soothed the flames.

Helios, inconsolable, locked himself in silent mourning, refusing to rise into the sky for days. The heavens and the earth mourned the loss of young Phaethon, and even the Heliades, his sisters, were transformed into poplars at the river’s edge, forever weeping amber tears for their lost brother.

However, when some recount the death of Phaethon, Lucian of Samosata tells an entirely different story… A completely different Phaethon, a solar lord, the one who was banished to the heavens. Splendid, radiant, but there is no doubt that his arrogance is the same as that of the boy who was once killed by the King of the Gods...

Yet, he wars. He wars with the Moon itself, the Lord Endymion, the treacherous adversary... The battlefield and the void of space, the reward? The Morning Star, Venus. The struggle is fierce, and while one might think Phaethon is the great victor, it is ultimately the ridiculous lunar star that triumphs...

Traitor, deceitful, and cunning, Endymion manages to force Phaethon into seclusion until the Sun, his hatred burning, while the lunar lord returns to his thousand-year sleep... But a great question arises.

At that moment, was it Phaethon? Or a Titan trying to seize new authority? Perhaps both...

Personality His summoning suggests the first deception: such a physique would imply a man as serious as mature, a man capable of making difficult decisions to make humanity shine through the ages, the heavens, the epochs, and the worlds.

To shine, Rider shines intensely. Perhaps too much?

He is as carefree as his legend suggests, so arrogant that his joy even becomes a challenge to the gods, a challenge that his master must endure and overcome. If his master fails to contain the fervor of his servant, they risk seeing this ball of energy wander the world, discovering everything he missed in his life!

Between what he couldn’t discover in his time and what wasn’t discovered, Phaethon has an infinite and immense amount of things to know. Knowledge he ardently desires.

Innocent like a newborn, valiant like Heracles, yet... Still aware of his legend. While this personality isn’t exactly a facade, it isn’t entirely the truth either... Phaethon fears, fears not doing enough, fears disappointing once more despite this chance that’s been given to him.

    However...

When Mooncancer reveals himself, when he sheds the carcass of Rider and escapes from it... Everything seems to change. Of course, traces of that carefree child remain, but they are so minimal that Mooncancer is, at his core, a completely new being.

He is royal. If Rider embodied a radiant Sun, illuminating and nourishing the world with its light, Mooncancer is dry. He is the desert Sun, bright, powerful. He is not a condition to be considered, he imposes himself, and others must obey. After all, he is the one and only Sun King. The original, unlike that French imposter.

Cold, he is not. Eccentric and uncompromising, however... The relationship reverses. He no longer takes orders from his master, only their advice. The decision is his, ultimately, despite the seals of command that may be imposed on him.

    Noble Phantasm

    World Eater
    Chariot of Heavenly light
    Helios’ chariot

    Type: Anti-World
    Rank: EX

Divine Construct among Divine Constructs, the Sun Chariot is forged by Hephaestus himself. Pulled by four winged horses, as pure white as what they embody, this chariot is driven by Pyroïs (the Fire), Éous (the East), Éthon (the Fiery), and Phlégon (the Shining). The Chariot is not just a solar vehicle: it is the Sun. Its mere presence illuminates the sky and warms the world, which, without it, would fall into cold and darkness.

In this world, however, the Chariot merely glows intensely. Its heat is overwhelming, suffocating for an ordinary human, leaving trails of flames in its wake. Even at a walk, it is faster than any earthly being, reaching the speed of a Servant with superior agility. But this power is natural to the Noble Phantasm, usable only by an entity of the magnitude of Apollo, Helios, or Phoebus.

For Phaethon, the situation is more complex. He manages to mount the Chariot, but it emits far more Mana than he can bear. At first, he seems to control the team, but after a few seconds, the heat becomes unbearable. Phaethon’s body begins to smoke, then catch fire, unable to withstand the Chariot's scorching power.

When the Chariot is activated, the horses go out of control. Phaethon loses all command over them: they charge in every direction, rising, descending, zigzagging in perfect chaos. They rush without following a straight trajectory, aiming to strike as many targets as possible.

What makes this charge unique? The Chariot then becomes enveloped in a blazing aura, resembling the Sun in full motion, ready to incinerate everything in its path. It is impossible to dodge without a skill like Instinct at rank A or Imperial Privilege EX — the horses are far too fast.

For Phaethon, this charge is devastating: his hair bursts into flames, and burn marks cover his body. He will need to find something to extinguish the flames or risk total destruction.

However, for Mooncancer... It's no longer quite the same. This Chariot is an extension of himself after all, and it is an extension in every way... What was once uncontrollable is no longer so. Helios/Phaethon can now control and maneuver his horses as he wishes. Nevertheless... there is always a catch. In his Servant form, the Chariot consumes far too much Mana, despite its perpetually replenishing reserves, and thus Mooncancer cannot manifest it for long before the World seizes the opportunity to make it disappear.

Thus, to preserve his reserves, he can manifest only one of his horses, reducing the rank of his Noble Phantasm to a simple B rank, drastically decreasing the power of the charge.

"Contemplate the Sun, soon, you will see nothing but the Black of the Gates of Hades, miserable mortals."

    Light of Creation
Heavenly Sword of the Brilliant One
    The Torch

    Type: Anti-Unit/Team
    Rang: C+

The first Noble Phantasm to spare Phaethon from his own fury: the Torch of Phaethon. It is more than just an artifact – it is the very essence of his soul, the sacred fire that refuses to die. A symbol of audacity and excess, the Torch shines high in the sky as a challenge to the stars, making him the true "Bearer of Light."

When activated, Phaethon channels a surge of Mana – an inexhaustible cosmic fire – along the blazing blade. With a single motion, he releases this energy in a searing wave, creating an arc of flames that strikes with the force of the sun itself. This is not a mere attack: it is a judgment, a celestial incineration. The Torch consumes everything that stands in its path, the fire licking and devouring even the smallest atom.

Under the power of the Torch, the air crackles and the shadows flee. The sky seems to split, while the world is set ablaze in a blinding light, imposing upon all Phaethon’s message: an eternal fire that illuminates the darkness and refuses to be subdued.

Whether he is Mooncancer or not, this Noble Phantasm will never change, for it is nothing more than the incarnation of Phaethon.

    Relationship
    Karna
You and I, we are both sons of the Sun, the only difference between us is... you sacrifice yourself, where I am sacrificed...

    Apollo
So... have you finished playing with my authority? You are nothing but a servant, you shine only because I allow it. Don’t forget that, bastard.

    Gilgamesh
Hmpf... Your treasures pale in comparison to the Sun.

    Louis XIV
A Sun King... Do you understand what it means to burn for an ideal... Perhaps I would have liked the luxury of a throne as well.

    Artoria
Ah, a king who shines for his ideals — I could almost admire you, but only the Sun knows how much the price of this light burns.

    Kukulkan (Lostbelt)
Your fire is strong, but fragile; I carry within me an endless fire, while you... No... Never mind.

    Creator's note
Yup, so.. Uh. How to put it simply? I had a lot of fun doing this character.. At first, I just wanted to write Phaeton as a Servant, and in the mid of the writing I was like "Uh. He doesn't qualify. This bitch almost burnt the world to death just because he wanted to be cool !", hence the idea of sticking him to the spirit core of his father. While it's still.. tricky? I don't know if it's the right word, it worked pretty well. Basically, Helios was the Sun God in Greek History, and at some point, everything changed to Apollo, so... I could work something aroung that. A god so deeply in grief he wouldn't do his work again! That was pretty much the starter and everything went down perfectly after reading A True History from Lucian of Samosata.

As for Mooncancer, it felt.. natural? Kiara was a Star Eater, hence the reason she is Mooncancer, and she supposed scarring the moon was the reason why she was summoned in this class... Phaeton scarred the whole World, and Helios is the Sun in its purest form.. He could probably be a threat to the Moon and the Earth if he wanted to.. So now, he is Mooncancer :3

    Phaethon:

Hmmmm...... edgy. Me likey, with the change between insecurity and arrogance. Reminds me of my Louis-Dieudonné (aka Louis XIV) that I posted a while back. Speaking of which.... the Sun King is mad a cur like this 'MoonCancer' is trying to take his title.

Ahaha! If it isn't the sopping wet dog who thinks he has what it takes to grasp at my title. I was going to say you're but a flickering torch, but no! I think that's too generous even, you're an ember who can't even make excuses about how he pitifully burns down the world. A god's Authority? Hah. The sun is but one celestial body, revolving around me, given to me by the One true God. S-still, so this is the namesake of my first Noble Phantasm, hm...I see why.

Ahem. After that though, I have but one question: why no Machine God lore? If it's Greek, it's robots.

    it's big brother season y'all

    ... @Edw-aw c'mon IT'S BERTIE

“It’s ok, brother. Don’t believe yourself less for stumbling when walking a very difficult path. I know you’ll prevail over every obstacle… Know why? Because the weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is, by nature, the attribute of the strong. Well, if I could ask for something, though… It would be nice if you could... Stop needling mother a whole new suit each time you two interact.”

MY ANGRY SON IS HERE AND HE’S SO BEAUTIFUL. Honestly, being privy to the difficult birth that it was this sheet makes the final result even more sweet. It’s amazing to see your evolution through this sheet, the way you really GET a character and transform them into something so… I don’t know how to explain, it just makes me really, really happy. I wish I could read a whole book about him, but I could get any history book for that. No, I want to read yOUR version of him. RIGHT NOW. GIMME.
So yes, his fight against everything his family represents in weighting him down is commendable and I love that black sheep-ness for him, it suits him just fine. I was really waiting for the Mordred references tho, making Victoria an Arthur-ish figure – good to see you catch my drift. And he would already have been amazing as an angry prince, but to see his earthly, kingly, big brotherly side too? Ugh. You pamper me too much, I already love him, you know.
And now I need to see him hosting the biggest party this place ever saw. I NEED IT. MY SOON DESERVED TO HAVE HIS PEOPLE SKILLS PRAISED.

    ...
    ... @ Phaeton

“Whaaa?! Isn’t that my big brother Phaeton?! Brotheeeer! Over here! I’m he—
—Oh… Nevermind, you’re not him. I must have mistaken you with someone else. My bad, mister. Good day for you.
Eww, Master, you see that? How dare that Servant use my poor brother’s face?! Have he no shame?! I’ll kick his ass one of these days for it.

    Very edgy, very bright like a diamond. Just like one expects from the child of the sun. I liked the way you incorporated Ovid’s original mythology with Samosata’s version of the tale. Personally, I’d love to see more of this dissonance on the sheet, like a person struggling with this dual origin, but I think it’s good enough that it was mentioned at all. Another thing I would have liked is a more fleshed out personality other than a very, very imposing edgelord, unless this was the effect you wanted… Oh well, maybe it’s my wishful thinking doing the talk. Honestly, ultimately I’m just so very impressed at the way you already dominate so much of the bbcode too. What the hell y’all, it took me so many years. ;_;
Very cool job, I await other creations of yours.

    @Muramasa :

Yeah, he’s definitely on the edgy side. I actually have another version of him where he’s way too brilliant. One day, I’ll probably manage to strike the right balance…

An interaction between Louis XIV and him would be really interesting. As long as Phaeton is still just Phaeton, it might even be wholesome! But… well… Helios might not be too happy about someone trying to claim his sweet boy’s title.

As for the lack of Machine God lore, the reason is simple (and a little dumb): I haven’t started Lostbelt 5 yet. While I do know parts of the plot, I want to avoid researching it so I can still experience the story with fresh eyes.

Making an edgelord wasn’t my sole intention, but my limited English made it hard to write what I really wanted. I ended up deleting that part, but… The reason he comes across as such an edgelord is because of what he embodies. Primarily, he reflects Helios’ grief right after Phaeton’s death in Ovid’s work—a grief so overwhelming it seeps into every aspect of his personality, like a slow-acting poison…

That said, if I ever revisit this character, I’ll keep your feedback in mind! Right now, though, I don’t think I’m capable of doing so—I’m too infatuated with my own "vision" of him and, to some extent, limited by my own mind.

Oh, and about the BBCode… It was a nightmare. It took me at least an hour to write.
