Seeing as Index II only has one episode left, I was wondering if anyone here could tell me from what volume/chapter I should start reading the Index novels from, if I want to continue from the point the anime is at now?

Thanks. It's quite interesting to see the differences between the anime adaption and the original novel.

I thought the first season was superior to the LNs (what I've read of them, anyway), but this second season's being overshadowed by the novels. The author got a whole lot better, whilst the director got a whole lot worse.

Yeah, it did feel rushed. The first two fights were much longer in the LN. The novel also gave me the feeling that Accelerator could actually end up dead.

He pretty much controlled the entire fight in the anime.

But, I can see why they had to rush it. They obviously wanted to end the series at a certain point, and since that point was not really that close, they had to blaze through the other events fast to fit everything into one episode.

So does this mean that the next season will be pretty much all action? I haven't read that far into the novels, but with the war starting that seems like the direction they are going in.

Nah, it was chapter 4 of Volume 17. But tbh, I was expecting him to do that, but that didn't make it any less awesome.

Definitely expected it to happen, but Deus Ex Machina ftw. Complete silence, then dozens of Knights just go flying, and he's there. This is why they should've given Nakata Jouji his role, damn it!

But it seems like lately Kanzaki's just become a measuring stick to go "lol these guys are so awesome they owned her like a bitch" with, and that makes me want to dropkick the author right in the face.

So far, up to Vol 17., as far as I can think of off the top of my head, she's lost to Acqua and Knight Leader.
Although Acqua really is pretty fucking awesome, so I may give him a pass.

Yeah, but those have been the only main villains- she takes down Knight mooks and such with no problem, but then along some the big bads and curbstomp her.

But yeah, Acqua is godly, so I don't suppose he should count.
