Pretty good volume, Kamachi's starting to hit his stride again. Hamazura's stuff still feels half-baked, though hopefully that improves now that he has an actual reason to go places.

Dunno if it's just me, but for some reason Index III feels more low budget than the previous seasons. If that really is the case, then I can imagine a couple reasons why that is.

They don't really have any excuse since Shana III was really tops in animation quality and unless I am missing something, Index totally beats Shana even back then.

I feel like they wanna wash their hands of the Index anime so that they can possibly get to work on a New Testament adaptation, which, possibly via some legalese mumbojumbo, is technically a under different license, thus enabling them to once again show a project love and work, and without having to feel pressured to rush the story along.

A lot of major and recurring character in NT is introduced and continue their character arc from the original. Even people barely talk about Frendead considering her popularity. Sigh...

It almost sad that all the Scavengers probably will have well directed scene more than ITEM.

Which he probably will at this rate. It's like people thinking Monogatari is gonna have an endpoint soon, and there are like 4 more books past what is animated now, with no end in sight.

The likelihood of Kamachi writing post-New Testament novels and the animation studio's potential desire to want to free up their timeline and work on mainline Index anime that's not the Old Testament arc...aren't mutual, you know.
