Would like to recommend Frozen Chronicles: Eternal Heroes
Summery: Mankind has been united against the trans-dimensional threat known simply as Nova since the year 2005. However, most of their battles are won at great cost and humanity is always at the verge of loss. The Second Hero of Humanity, Aoi Kazuha, almost dies in battle only to be rescued by a certain archer. Thus starts this story.
Warning: It is wordy and the chapters currently written are mostly world building and characterization, primarily of the Freezing cast of characters with alteration of the Freezing timeline (however doubt many will care). However it has built up an interesting world so far. Your mileage will vary.

If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim,
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster;
And treat those two impostors just the same,

Honestly the story is really slow right now, at least for me. Just felt like it deserved a rec, the author obviously put a lot of thought into it and it shows.
It has been more or less 6 chapters of characterization and world building with little to no plot. It does the world building really well, and
characterizes some characters good as well (some less so).
So I kinda agree with NewAge.
The author also mentioned that the chapters so far are an introduction of sorts to introduce the characters and what not. The real meat of the story should start happening from here on in.
Spoiler:
New rec woooo

Aw, shucks, Kirby
You didn't have to do that, but I appreciate the vote of confidence.
I found Fate Alter Time to be one of the most promising and original-feeling works of fanfiction I've read in awhile. The blurb "A tale of an absolutely selfish man against the tale of an absolutely selfless one." got me hooked immediately, and I was not let down.
Despite being rather... unripe, and unpolished, I feel Leo Novum has the potential to become another Arashi.
He's gotten a bit cleaner at writing as time passes as well; inspired by Zalgo Jenkin's "A study in Velvet", Leo Novum's The Adventure of the Douglas Restaurant is a pretty good marker for where his writing skill is at now, although, I feel the story didn't have the same raw impact of Zalgo's fic nor the same ingenuity seen in Alter Time.
My biggest issue with Frozen Chronicles: Eternal Heroes, his Fate/Freezing crossover, is that Freezing, like Sekirei, is an inherently shallower (to me, at least) franchise than the Nasuverse. If you didn't like Sekirei, you might dislike Freezing as well.

I'd like to add a +1 to 'War of Kings' by Pale Wolf. I got around to reading it a few weeks back and it looks good.
Small index update. Lyrical Days ( The rewrite of Mahou Senki Lyrical days now officially a separate story from old-MSLD (seeing that Hero want to continue his one)

I've just read the first two chapters of Frozen Chronicles, and my problem with it is less about the setting and more about the writing. It doesn't flow that well, IMO, though I'm having trouble putting my issue into words.
It's like a bunch of terse statements just recited in order or something. Here's the second paragraph.
I guess the problem is that it's mostly simple sentences, with little variation. The style seems too unnatural.Nova. Trans-dimensional entities who had been invading this world since 2005. The one she was currently facing was officially known as a Type-S which had appeared for first time nearly eleven months ago. They had a blue body and a weird shape. They had something resembling a head with no eyes on the top, fin like shoulders and three blades instead of proper arms. Their abdomen protruded outwards like some sort of breastplate. They were monopeds with an anchor like bottom.

Uch. Nasty writing. Only a sample, I recognise that, but it's quite unpalatable.
