Oh cool, my local Drafthouse is going to have Kizumonogatari part 3. Time to grab tickets. Only thing that would be better is if they were doing a marathon thing.

Somehow I was dumb enough to not get that the Drafthouse was going to show Colossal as the final part of their Kaiju movie marathon today. It's definitely worth the watch, though it's less about kaiju than the trailer makes you think. Also, no post credit scene.

Just saw 8 Fast 8 Furious. Jason Statham steals every scene he's in. Kurt Russel is pretty good too. The rest was basically XXX with cars instead of skateboards/dirtbikes.

I really wish there was at least SOME acknowledgement of the part where Statham, ya know, murdered Han and blew up the Toretto family home.

I could cut they guy some slack for that one, since they did absolutely fuck his brother up in the previous movie. The same brother who also appears in the climax helping the heroes, and has no such explanation for his actions.

Statham is literally introduced murdering one of the franchise's signature characters and a hospital full of cops.

But he did it for FAMILY. That makes him a good guy, apparently.

Yep. Was surprised they picked up another non-Ghibli title since only 3 people went to Kizu part 3.

there was alright turnout both times I saw it, and Kizu is pretty niche for anime

They ran it for a weekend last month around here.

Theater was full to the brim, too, so I hope they do that sort of thing more often.

The movie itself was pretty OK, my only major complain being the very distracting plot hole of "how the fuck did they manage not to notice the date difference?"
