Watched episode 3. Favorite moments in this ep were pouting Mordred and the Fran x Caules scene in the flower garden. Really adorable. Not crazy about how the Karna v. Siegfried fight was handled though. It was the same problem with the fight back in episode 1, where all the action is just way too fast to the point of being almost impossible to follow. If anything this was actually worse since the fighters were zipping around a lot more. The sheer scale of the fight was certainly epic (seriously, that environment destruction goes way beyond anything ufotable did), but it's kind of a waste when you can't actually see what the heck is going on.
The scene with Shirou and the other Red faction Masters was also kind of confusing. If I weren't familiar with the LN, I doubt I would've clued in they were supposed to be brainwashed at all.

What was the point of Fiore transferring her magic/crests to Caules?

They didn't go over it in the anime, but the gist of it is it's a resolve thing. Since Fiore decided to remain a human the transfering the crest to Caules was necessary so that he can take up the position of family Mage. But they decided to do it as soon as possible because the longer it would take the more Fiore would be hesitate, and so they decided to do it before she regrets her decision, and she did and will probably do so for the rest of her life because that's how much magecraft means to Fiore, but she decides to live by her choices.

If she was a run of a mill mage, she could have probably lived as a mage while remaining to be human. But she wasnt, she was born as an heir to a declining house and as the candidate to succeed as the leader of the Yggdemeliena. She has through out her whole life people expecting her to discard her feelings and become the monster that is a mage, sadly she couldn't do that, and if she did that would probably break her, so she had to stop being a mage.
