Eh, "she" claims to be the reason for Shiki's murderous drive, wouldn't seem far-fetched to me.
Yes, well, sometimes I favour ease of writing over accuracy.
Thanks for your quote, but if memory serves, didn't you once claim your dissertation on the topic was done as a joke?
probably now the more relevant feature of the post is that it was written by a retard called 2014 dullahan, don't listen to him

that said it's still true that the strongest reading you can make of knk as far as sex is concerned is on ideological grounds

Books are extremely many, loaded on an oxcart the ox will sweat.

I see. Thanks again, then! And if 2018 Dullahan wants to talk about the topic as well, I'd be interested.
not a lot to say really, as far as text goes things are generally subordinated to this male/female dichotomisation they set up with shiki/SHIKI, other characters fold off that eg the conversation in 5 which ends with azaka throwing a book at mikiya's head (it's just like one of my japanese animes!)
you have a bit of mimetic desire going on with characters like fujyou - ties into the whole geodesic model of characterisation knk uses where shiki is left generally opaque in some parts so that the antagonist of that particular part can 'fill in the blank' so to speak - but I decline to do the writeup now
probably the most interesting thing going on is with lio & his crossdressing - this is unexamined in the work, book and film generally - the licking scene has a lot more going on than is probably the takeaway for most
ultimately the ideological project of the thing is reaffirmation of a traditional domestic sphere & associated norms which is necessarily repressive - some desires have to be restrained in order to sustain the normal situation, the nichijou - extremes of death-drive and of libido are subject to the same logic here, that's the general approach you can take
there may be some general cultural comment discernible in things like the rape in 3 and prostitution in 6 (this is novel-only, the movie changed it for no good reason) but it's inchoate and it'd be some work to draw out nuances
to come closer to an answer to your actual question, her killing intent is not explicitly sexualised in text as her tsukihime counterpart is so notorious for exhibiting; i get a general sense that it's understood at a more basic level, pre-symbolic animal instinct, but w/e

Manager at work watched Fate and knows anime. Play a game where he guesses if a person is shown as a Servant
“Is Caesar in?”
”Uh, yeah!”
”How about Leonidas?”
”Yeah, he’s in too.”
”Man, it’d be really cool if Atilla the Hun was in!”
”... yeah.. aha...”
I remember him only in the "Hagar the Horrible" comics and the "Night at the Museum" movies (had to confirm it was him in the latter, not Genghis Khan).
I really like Altera's background but making her Attila feels like such a weird choice.
I mean, it's a sword, it's not like it was a rocket launcher. I'm pretty sure an A-ranked attack with a toothpick would've still just made a small hole.
Localizationing stuff
Im just saying
Thats a very manly hand
