Poor Koichi, getting bossed around by a bunch of middle schoolers.
Cool throwback to the "fighting by controlling the Gunpla themselves".

It marries teen melodrama with 079 plotline making it more accessible than most Gundam series. I don't see the characters as much more stupid than is general for these shows and 'blandness' makes them more relatable for the general audience. Add pretty great music and tbh I don't see why it wouldn't be among the most popular.
It came out after a fairly long Gundam drought, it was basically a reimagining of OG's politics but with 2000's era science fiction in mind, and to Westerners it was in contrast to Wing's sausage fest and operatic over-the-topness or G-Gundam's super robot silliness.
Localizationing stuff
My Gunpla for Rommel's Grimoire Red Beret has arrived safe and sound. Can't wait to start building it! <3

my god, 3d printed gundam parts reward
that's fucking genius
Gundam Build Divers Episode 7: When I saw that Kocihi's gunpla had Rebake in the name I was like, "No way, it can't be... Has the show really passed the amount of time to make into Gundam Build Divers?". But when I saw him use that hammer plier, it pretty much confirmed it. Do Akihiro justice Koichi.
Spoiler:
Oh mi gosh, Rommel's face throughout this episode had me dying.
Y'know, a while back on the Gundam forums I remember discussing the feasibility of 3D printing gunpla runners so seeing it in this anime was pretty cool.
Gosh darn, the first episode of IBO aired all the way back in 2015? Man, time sure flies.

Gundam Thunderbolt Volume 7 has been obtained and read.

That's what, most of S2 covered I think? I've been waiting until I've read the manga until I watch the second season since I started manga first.

Since finishing moving into my new house, I am finally able to build Gunpla again. Starting with my 1/144th GM/GM which was from the Build Fighters GM's Counterattack OVA.
Just a straight build at the moment. After this, next on my list is building all of best boy - McGillis Fareed's mobile suits, starting with Bael. <3

CANARI
STEA
yeah right, seed fangirls with Stella berserking homage.
also I want that Beagguy with huge wings (zero custom's wings maybe?).
What up, Scope-Dog?
So yeah, I'm not a person who sticks to what they say they're going to do and so I ended up building a Grimoire Red Beret from the currently airing Divers anime instead lol.
As usual, just a straight build at the moment, this one needs a far bit of clean up to do. Being a Build Fighters/Divers kit, it suffers the drawback of any flaws from its base kit being carried over and since the Reconguista kits weren't stellar this one has its fair share of problems. Most pressing of all is the articulation, the Red Beret can't really do more than 90 degree bends in the joints which makes even holding the rifle with both hands a chore. That said though, I do really like the character this kit has - the military coloring scheme, the 4 in one gun it has, the backpack containing scout drones and the functioning wheels on the feet. They really took a forgettable mech from Reconguista and made it one of my favourites from Divers. <3
For real this time, I'll aim to have Bael done sometime later this week.

Gundam Build Fighters Episode 9: I knew the Break Decal would interfere with the match, but I still wanted it to go on to the end.
Spoiler:
Man, why'd a lame kid like Douji get such an awesome mech as the Geara Ghiraga? It's Break Decal form gave me major Hashmal flashbacks, mainly the tendrils.
That ending though, looks like it's all ogre for Team Hyakki... I regret nothing!
Ask and the king of hell shall appear...
Y'know, as much as I love the IBO kits, they're reliance on stickers irks me to no end. Trying to wrap those blue stickers around the four sided antennae is a nightmare.

Lol yeah, I'm pretty shit at putting stickers. Most of the time it'd be misaligned.
Something
Stickers are shit even if you able to align them so you are good!
Part of the reason i primarily do 1/100 is so the stickers dont give me a fucking stroke like the Rg Exia and HG freedom did when I first started Gunpla building.
