See, you say "universe made up of parallel worlds" when as far as I know the word World implies an entire universe of its own. Hence there's no real difference between 'parallel world' and 'parallel universe' unless you're using the old fashioned and/or sentimental version of "entire world= just our planet" .

A parallel world is like a version of events.
If you've ever watched CW's Flash its like that. There's Version 1, Version 2, Version 3, but due to the prunning phenomenon and the Human Foundations they're all pretty much the same.
All of these versions exist on this rock known as planet earth.
And because all these version exist on this rock, in the Extra world, the Moon Cell can observe all of these versions.
The reason why people in version 1 don't know what's going on in version 2 is because they're in different universes of awareness
Inhabitants of version 1 only understand what's going on in version 1

The only real mystery is how one rock can have so many versions of the same software running and have enough space for all those versions.
Which I guess will be revealed when the Kaleidoscope is actually revealed.

Weird advice, but it'd probably help if you'd stop being literal about various terms, and lessen comparisons to the real world, or try a different pair of glasses that you look through (note, not literal)

Also realise that this is pretty new for most people here anyway, we could be shown a way that makes more sense. Its not going to be like the real world, these people are writers not top tier scientists.

Yeah fair enough. If they were different universes of awareness then there's no way Arthur could properly interact with the GO world.
So then the barrier between worlds would be strictly between worlds, not universes.
tbh universe is a pretty poor term of awareness, archival, and observational universes
because these are ways of seeing things not actual universes
and the word universe as a ton of connotations
I prefer what reiu had, archival space, observational space and now awareness space

The world is an onion
The top layer has HUMAN ORDER written on it in Sharpie and Rhongo is like the navel of the onion that you cut off when you cut into the onion.
Some shit happened and someone threw ethanol on this onion so there's no more permanent marker.
And now there are toothpicks (fantasy trees) stabbed into the onion with pieces of paper saying YAGAZ RULEZ, SEA OF TREES, BLONDE CRYPTER BEST CRYPTER, HIGASHIDETRIESNOTTOOFFENDTHECHINESEAGAIN, etc
Those pieces of paper are lost belts.

So basically the antagonists of FGO are just trying to cook or prepare an onion, but failed.
