At that point there's not many people left is the issue
So I'm sure this has come up before but I'm not gonna dig through thousands of pages for it, what's the basis for Guillotine Breaker being a crystal horse? Crystal Palace too considering not only was it in London but it didn't even exist while Marie was alive.
I really like Marie but her NPs are very confusing.
Quote from a book or something IIRC.
I remember Sakurai saying that Marie is pretty much based on the character from The Rose of Versailles

Machines do not lose their worth when a newer model appears.
Their worth (life) ends when humans can no longer bear that purity.
The person saying that he'll win is Kotomine Kirei, who is famously trustworthy and would never set a man up just to watch him fall. Kotomine Kirei, who definitely is not secretly an enemy Master while saying that.
Mind of Steel/Superhero/Seigi no Mikata is on Day 9. Rider's still around, although if Sakura's dead she might not be for much longer. True Assassin's around, although Saber dies on Day 8. Berserker is still around, as is Archer - they die on Day 10. I don't remember when the Shadow eats Gilgamesh and Lancer, but I think Gil might die after Day 9?
So you're down Saber, Caster, maybe Rider and Lancer. Shirou's going to come into direct conflict with Rin and Archer, but might be able to ally with Illya and Berserker. Kotomine might still have Gilgamesh in his back pocket, and is the one telling the Servant-less Shirou "you're gonna win because you've become your dad now".
The thing is, Mind of Steel happens fairly early on in the story. It's not like Sparks Liner High where it's almost at the end, this is Day 9 out of 16.
It's not just Kotomine.

Why would Gaia want its surface erased

Gaia first got its surface burnt and now bleached white, that’s basically a counter guardian makeover.

Thematically, the Mind of Steel ending lasting for only a few days before Shirou is rendered to a bloody pulp by one of the remaining enemies would be highly unsatisfying. Dramatically speaking, it would be much more appropriate for him to win the Grail War and end up just as empty inside as the ending promises.
I have no idea how he'd manage that, though. I guess that's what fanfiction is for.

So it's nonsense as usual?
Precisely this; you could hardly say he "became a superhero" if he actually just died to the first powerful enemy he came across. What the game has told the reader about Kiritsugu's ultimate fate already makes clear why killing everyone Shirou knows to save a bunch of strangers isn't the optimal solution.
