Class Skills
Magic Resistance
Rank: E
The ability to cancel or diminish the effects of magic spells used against one’s self. Inigo has no innate resistance against magecraft, but being summoned into Knight Class “Saber” qualifies him for the minimum rank. At this rank, spells are not canceled but damage is reduced by 10%.
Personal Skills
Battle Continuation
Rank: B
The ability to come out alive, and continue fighting while injured. During the most important battle of his life, Saber was nearly disemboweled and suffered from numerous stab wounds. Still, he fought on and won against the Six-Fingered Man. At this rank, the Servant may take blows that could result in death and continue fighting.
Eternal Arms Mastership
Rank: A++ (B+)
Mastership of combat arts unrivalled in one’s era. Saber’s transcendent skill in swordplay elevated him beyond the rank of “Master” to the fabled rank of “Wizard”. At this rank, the Servant can make full use of all their fighting skills even under any form of mental and physical hindrance. However, Inigo’s habit of fighting with his off-hand reduces this skill by one rank. But the rank will return to normal once he switches back to his main hand.
Eye of Mind (True)
Rank: C
Calm analysis of battle situation and conclusion of battle through “theory of battle”. During his years of training, Saber gained practical knowledge from many difference styles of sword fighting. By observing his opponent, Inigo can easily gauge their skill and condition in relation to his own. But, his ego and love for challenging himself limits his full ability. At this rank, the Servant is capable of calmly analyzing except during an emotionally challenging battle. Even if the chance of victory is small, they are able to devise a plan to exploit that possibility.
Noble Phantasm(s)
Six-Finger Sword Treasure of Domingo
Rank: C
Type: Anti-Unit
The masterpiece of Saber’s beloved father who was struck down by the Six-Fingered Man. Heralded as “the best sword since Excalibur”, this slick and deadly blade is truly a marvel. Against lesser opponents, Inigo’s attacks will always have the advantage. Despite not being tailored for him, Inigo mastered this unique weapon and used it to kill the man who killed his father.
Simple Promise of Revenge He is Inigo Montoya
Rank: B+
Type: Support
A type of curse crystallizing Saber’s innermost motive and drive: his thirst for revenge. When he reaches critical condition, Inigo’s curse can be activated by saying an activation phrase. “Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.” This hypnotizes Inigo into imagining his opponent as the man who killed his father, The Six-Fingered Man. Seeing his hated nemesis, Inigo will continue fighting while shouting his greeting. In this state, Inigo’s life will be stuck in critical condition and any normal attack will not kill him. To completely defeat Saber, one must completely and utterly destroy him.
Details
Born in the mountains of Central Spain, Inigo Montoya loved his father, Domingo. His father was a master smithy, crafting masterpieces and works of art. But he did not work for money; Domingo worked when the commission challenged his skills. So the father and son leaved in perpetual poverty.
One day, a nobleman visited their cottage in the mountains. At first, Domingo refused the man’s request, but then the stranger showed him his hand.
The man only had six fingers.
This excited the poor sword smith: the stranger had to have a specially customized blade to compensate for his extra digit. Domingo took up the six-fingered nobleman’s request. For one year, little Inigo watched as his father crafted the Six-Fingered Blade, a sword so magnificent and beautiful as it is sleek and deadly.
The nobleman returned, but saw only the monetary value of the sword. Insulted, Domingo refused saying that the nobleman was an enemy of art, seeing only the contents of his fat purse. Those were the last words Domingo Montoya uttered as the Six-Fingered Man killed him. With a flash of steel, the master craftsman lay dead on the floor of his hut.
Grief-stricken and burning with rage, the young son of Domingo challenged the Six-Fingered Man. It was no contest: a young boy with no training against a master swordsman. Defeated, Inigo looked at death with defiant pride. Impressed, the nobleman flashed his sword two more times, scarring Inigo’s face forever. Then, the nobleman left the Spanish village without his sword.
Taken in by Yeste, a fellow sword maker and close family friend, Inigo recovered from his wounds. But the death of his father changed him. One day, Yeste opened Inigo’s bedroom to find an empty bed with a note bearing a simple statement:
“I must learn”
For ten years, Inigo traveled all over Europe seeking out all the masters of the sword. For ten years, he squeezed rocks to strengthen his wrists. For ten years, he did morning routines to quicken his footwork and improve his balance. For ten years, his need for revenge festered and grew. The years after that, however, did not go well for Inigo. He searched everywhere for the Six-Fingered Man but did not find him. And worse, his skills were so magnificent that he could not find a decent challenge.
The Spanish Wizard had grown bored with life.
During this period of his life, Inigo’s skills were dulled with lethargy and wine. He became a hollow shell of his former self. Lucky for him, a Sicilian dwarf named Vizzini. The short man came to him with a proposition: join him and together, with a Turkish giant named Fezzik, they would rule the criminal underworld. Seeking anything to pull him out of his current life, the Spaniard agreed.
The three men became known as The Sicilian Crowd.
Soon after, they were hired by the Prince of Florin to instigate a war between his country and the neighboring country of Guilder. Little did Inigo know that this job would see him meet a worthy adversary, make new allies, and find the Six-Fingered Man, the man who killed his father.
