Just finished watching the last Persona 3 movie. I won't lie, I cried at the ending. I attribute that to my love of Persona 3 and not because I cry easily at anything emotional that comes my way.
Erk, now I just want to replay Persona 3. But I really don't want to sift through my stuff to look for my PSP.
Other than that, I'd give the movie a 4/5. The animations and characterization was good, the pacing was great. But the thing that killed me was the sudden powerups they all gained midfight that allowed them to beat shit up more. It killed the mood for the entire thing where they were teetering on death.
That said, Makoto one-shotting the Reaper with Orpheus using Megidolaon tells me he hacked the game and put Elizabeth's version into it.
P3 Base ps2 game isn't fun. Just like p1.
P3:FES still has the problems base game did.
P3:Portable fixed the problems and added systems that made it to later games (skill cards, activity persona stat raising). Just no 3D controls besides when dungeon crawling, no anime cut-scenes, and more VN based. Also new content with FeMC.
P3's writing is a step down from P2 (and P2 isn't exactly fine literature) but the gameplay was a massive step up from the primitive bullshit of 1 and 2.

P1 and 2 games are not great with gameplay as the later Personas even though PSP remakes tried and they have their quirks.
But the story is solid and worth a look. Bollocks to the idea that Persona was never good until 3

It's definitely a slog to play through and get ready to talk to literally everyone if you want an idea of what's going on but that's par the course for JRPG
no actually talking to everyone after almost every dungeon to know the story is not par the course for an JRPG
Oh
I kind of have that problem with 5, I feel if I don't habitually talk to others I miss out
You should talk to Confidants in P5 because they're Good
Not all of them are, no.
Though, some are useful in spite of being uninteresting.
Who do I go for romance first?
Tae, Kawakami, or Makoto?
