Would your town make for an interesting location for a Holy Grail War?

Admit it. You have thought about this before. Maybe during a shower, maybe when you laid awake in bed. Well, now is the time to put those shameful thoughts into words that strangers on the Internet can read!

Why, or why not? Is it a place of historical significance, or with a vibrant local history? Are there sites that would make for neat set-pieces, cool backdrops for the inevitable battled and betrayals sure to ensue when magi and Servants are involved with each other?

Show that pride, or lack therof, through the most genuine way possible -- an appreciation of incredibly destructive battles to the death committed in the dead of night!
McJon01: We all know that the real reason Archer would lose to Rider is because the events of his own Holy Grail War left him with a particular weakness toward "older sister" types.

My college town would've because I would've summoned the Strongest Rider in all of time.

My actual town... no, not at all. Now if I go to DC on the other hand...

    My home is modern trash.

But my working place is basically SERAPH, so yes, it would be fun to kill my fellow co-workers.

For my current location, a Grail War would reduce this small town into a crater.

For my actual hometown, however, that would be interesting; as the outskirts of Kunming are mountainous and rural, and because it's Zheng He's birthplace, he would probably be Apo-Vlad tier of power due to the sheer fame-bonus involved.

The Act of dozing off in the afternoon is a luxury indeed.
    Coffee would be nice, though.

I don't live near one particular town, just surrounded by a bunch of farms so... Not really?

Unless the Servants dressed up as famers and Rider was fighting in a tractor. That could be fun.

A grail war in the suburbs would be so flaccid.

"We need a good viewpoint for the whole town, Master" "Uh, we have a five story building downtown"
"We need a large open area to set up this battle" "We have a golf course"
"We need a long stretch of road to have a motorcycle vs chariot battle" "Every street is undergoing massive road repairs"

On the other hand, back in high school when I was big into Red Alert 2, I remember making a bunch of maps based on the local area.

Would Phildaphia be a big enough city to be a problem? It probably be more hectic then Snowfield but it should be somewhat manageable... maybe.

I wonder what founding father would be summoned tho.

Edit :As for historical significance and interesting locales, hell yeah, you won't find a place better for that except for maybe New York. Though cities like Chicago and LA probably has more of a wow factor to them admitly

My college town has a lot of open spaces so that would be convenient, although I have no idea how any of the masters would find each other. There's no one space everyone would see if you made a signal and there's no place populated enough you'd be guaranteed to sense a servant just walking around.

My home is Cleveland which would work just fine. Plenty of space, but it's not so populated that you'd have to worry too much about collateral unless you have servants duking it out in the middle of downtown.

No. My city is one of the most populated city in the world. I don't think you can find an open space where you can let your servant run wildly. There is traffic even at 11 pm, lot of people walking around, barely open space for Servants fights.

    So no, thanks

I mean, we've got a little visited museum dedicated to a Mohawk general from the American revolution, so it would be pretty easy to summon at least one Servant.

Honestly it seems like it'd be smarter rolling the dice and summoning without a catalyst. Most revolution war era servants wouldn't be powerful enough.

Most magi would scare up a catalyst, anyways.

    Basically yeah.

Though if I want to go with where I'm from rather than where I live now, that'd be Salt Lake. It's in a valley, so that could be interesting.

Hell no. My town is a boring, affluent suburb that's way too proud of itself. The only noticeable structure that's more than a hundred years old or so is a Quaker meetinghouse. You just might be able to hold a Grail War here without people noticing, but the setting would bore readers to tears. There's a rather nice state park, but if you go there at night, you'll be arrested and fined. I'd rather have my Grail War out in the hills north of here, at least there'd be more open space and nicer landscapes to destroy.
O walls, you have held up so much tedious graffiti that I am amazed you have not already collapsed in ruin.

Well, we're definitely gonna get a lot of Hassan vs Cu on top of a vehicle type of fight here.

On the flip side, our nation's myth hero is choked with India export or figures fitting such criterion. So at least we can say goodbye to our city.

Memphis, great place for a grail war. You could have Khufu take over our scale model of the great pyramid of Giza that we use as a Bass Pro Shop, and have the King of Egypt face off against the King of Rock and Roll.

Plus you wouldn’t have to bother covering up any deaths! Just another day in Memphis!
