Okay now, hear me out:

Imagine you're taking a shit. It's great and very satisfying for about the first five minutes, but then it just keeps going and going.

And going.

By this point, let's say you've just hit the half hour mark, your sphincters are tired as fuck and probably quite sore and the shit just. Would. Not. Stop. You're feeling restless, you're shifting from cheek to cheek and checking the back hem of your shirt for splatters. Oh and don't forget the pins and needles in your feet.

And all throughout, your brain is nagging at you that you need to hurry the crap up and get on with your day because there's a million better things to do with your time. But no, oh no, there's more. The shit just keeps piling on and you just want it stop and get it over with but there's still more, even when you think it's done. There's always more.

Now you start to worry about clogging and maybe the smell's finally settling in and you get a little light headed from all the straining... but there's more. The shit must flow and there's only one way our and... Oh god.


That's how I felt reading In Flight. And before you ask, yes, I've been sitting on this for quite some time.

Though solidly written, F/BR smacks of "How the Bleach cast makes everything better." I know everyone wants to see their favorite characters get a happy ending, but dropping these new guys into the Grail War so they can be magical handymen is a bit insulting to the premise. Where is the strife? The conflict? The tension? It's in the poor communication, which is incredibly frustrating. Instead of, say, Ichigo trying to get Shirou to bow out of the war for his own good on the grounds that he's just a normal mortal, the F/SN-Bleach conflicts stem mainly from no one talking to each other. It's a crutch for genuine conflict. There's not much thought given to how these characters and their personal philosophies might actually clash.

And the battles. Oh, the battles. Let's take an early example: Ichigo drives off Lancer like child's play using his shikai (his weakest form, for the uninformed). Ichigo is a god, explicitly compared to a Saber-class Servant in his first battle. Kind of sucks the tension out of everything when Ichigo can lolno someone as competent as Lancer. Sure, he's no Gilgamesh, but it's a strong red flag.

(That said, Nameless Flame Wielder is actually a good writer. The prose flows well, but it's wasted on these poorly thought out ideas.)

That's not even getting into why Ichigo's friends are there in the first place. Why does Ichigo need an entourage? He usually works alone on routine assignments, and he's already top-tier in Fuyuki. Ishida is a Quincy. He doesn't take orders from Soul Society. Why is everyone so set on cramming Tatsuki into their Bleach fics? She has no powers! Stop pretending like she does. All the other Bleach characters feel like they tagged along simply for the sake of giving the author to cram more Bleach characters down our throats.

The entire spectacle isn't even a crossover so much as it's Ichigo and friends looking "super cool" and showing up the F/SN crew at every turn. I find that the best crossovers are written out of genuine appreciation and respect for both properties. Using one to prop up the other is selling the original property short.

Tbh, that really isn't OOC. Lancer's fast, yeah, but Bleach powerlevels >>>>>> Nasuverse powerlevels, so hard.

Ichigo is known for being ungodly strong even in the Bleach powerlevel scale.

Actually, he was evenly matched with Lancer when he was going full power with his Shikai and Lancer was holding back to make the fight fun. Plus, Ichigo can't beat Berserker, Gil, or Rin Saber, and would have trouble with Serious Lancer and possibly even UBW Archer.

His sword fires beamu that can level city blocks. Even in Nasuverse, this'd pretty much mean yeah, he is like that.

Something like this would be a great crossover but only because of the crack.

Speaking about recommending snippets, I'll recommend Aiden's 'Magitech' and 'Aqua and Ruby' (Altrouge+Ri)n parts.

Magitech summary: HGW Servants are now giant magitech robots, magecraft's no longer a secret to the world, and a ton of world-building has gone into this. The series contains large amounts of humour and awesome.

Aqua and Ruby summary: Altrouge visits Zelretch, runs into Rin, and the two girls eventually becomes friends/lovers with a lot of teasing involved.

(I haven't read Aiden's stuff for a while now, so summaries are subject to change and if someone can write a better one that does these justice then please do so)

Can i get some more detail on what you mean by power lvls? because im pretty sure bleach doen't have anyone like:
ado edem (huge ass dimension cutting sword that eats earth to grow at the speed of thought)

ort (can turn anything around it into crystal, has no concept of death and can absorb the memories of anything it eats)

arcueid (can drop the moon on ppl)

night of wallachia (a living phenomenon that takes the shape of what ever you fear).
