Matou Shinji and the Philosopher's Stone. A Harry Potter/Fate Cross that is actually good (not great still to early to judge on that), and wherein the differences between the two magic systems are explained in a way that makes more sense then in most.

Shinji is still a little bastard but as he is a kid he is not on the level of Shinji in canon.

Hillard's pretty cool. I could care less about Sokaris.

On a whole, it's an alright story with Shinji as the unusual protagonist. Hell, it's been a while since I've read a story with Shinji in the story, let alone be a main character. Something else that I liked was that it made Quirrell competent - at least, compared to his canon self. It was a welcomed change. As well as the Troll battle - that was fun

The two magic systems have been explained in a way that sorta makes sense, so I can't much.

But. I just can't enjoy reading it. My main problem with it is that I cannot convince myself that Shinji is 11. Even taking into account his admiration/respect for Aozaki, him being 11 is a hard bit to swallow. I must've not met enough hyper-mature brats at that age. There were also some other scenes like Dumbledore meeting the enforcer, - pretty much every scene with Shinji - that made me... meh? Tilt my head in puzzlement? Well, I didn't enjoy reading it much.

The reason why it's a neutral vote is: I liked the author's other works and I believe that as the updates keep coming, it will get better. (That, or I'll get used to Shinji.... maybe). But for now, I cannot give a positive vote to it.

But then again Shiki and Akiha probably don't have enough time together to have developed Westermarck status.

I suspect that coming from a genetic stock that perpetuated itself solely through incest, Shiki may not experience the Westermarck effect at all.

Frankly it is in very poor taste and while I can't say I am disappointed in Elf for making the comment, because that'd imply I have any positive expectations from her, I was assuming there'd be a higher standard since, you know, admin.

Just for the record, at least in here, I'd appreciate if you follow this simple rule: If it's fictional people it's ok. If it's real people then it's not.

After reading...I still can't wrapped my head around it. It was a weird pairing.
