Makes sense.
Personally, CYOA sounds gimmicky anyways for fanfiction lol

It's pretty fun for me at least. I've always been a fan of choices and I think CYOA stories just add to that.
Also I think it helps to keep the story fresh, when you do a normal full blown fanfiction story you usually end up taking a very long time to write it out. During that time opinions can change, you can lose interest, all sorts of things can happen and I think CYOA help to alleviate some of those problems.
Plus it creates a ton more discussion in the threads, just look at how huge my Kayneth story got, with people discussing the most random of things.
Too many captains steer a boat up a mountainside.
Localizationing stuff
that's a nice boat
be a shame if it were to be stuck somewhere

>Anarchy
Take it to DSM.
Probably better to take it to Twitch.
Spoiler:
What Fate/Stay Night character are you?
Kotomine Kirei
You are Kirei. You've always been a little different from the rest. You probably have low social skills. Whatever, it's not like what they think matters anyway. Ever searching for something missing within you, you probably don't experience the same happiness as everyone else. Good and evil are just labels, you are who you are.

That maymay used to be funny the zeroth time it was used.
Is it worth for other stuff than Shinji and Harry Potter?
It feels more like a Harry Potter fic, with all of the twists and turns of that story along with the characters from it, so it's worth it for seeing all of those familiar HP characters. Except it's also fresh because the changes from Shinji's involvement produce some unexpected circumstances that make it more than just a rehash of the first book.
He never sleeps. He never dies.
Battle doesn't need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don't ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don't ask why I fight.
Okay, then I might give it a try on March.
Also, Touko shows up.
Linger: Complete. August, 1995. I met him. A branch off Part 3. Mikiya keeps his promise to meet Azaka, and meets again with that mysterious girl he once found in the rain.
Shinkai: Set in the Edo period. DHO-centric. As mysterious figures gather in the city, a young woman unearths the dark secrets of the Asakami family.
The Dollkeeper: A Fate side-story. The memoirs of the last tuner of the Einzberns. A record of the end of a family.
Overcount 2030: Extra x Notes. A girl with no memories is found by a nameless soldier, and wakes up to a world of war.
>Touko
I'm already interested.
The stuff with Touko is one of the best parts of the story, interesting thematic and character building stuff going on there.
I eagerly await for the CYOA of Year 2 to come out ^_^
(I should probably use that time to write my own stuff first in the meantime... -_-)

Changing my +1 of Hearts of the Suffering to a 0 for now.
As I explained in a post in the thread itself, it has basically become a story I cannot, at this time, get much enjoyment out of, even if it's well-written. The core theme is expressed clumsily through internal monologue upon internal monologue from the same character that have been saying the same boring things for some 15 chapters, which is already questionable by itself, but the fact that these monologues are always the same thing to the point where they are basically interchangeable even nearly halfway into the story is just too much for me. I can see how someone can enjoy Hearts, and I will keep reading it in hopes of my problems with it are fixed, but for now I simply can't defend the +1 I previously gave it.
