Would he even care about winning the Grail. What if he sacrificed himself.
He never sleeps. He never dies.

Battle doesn't need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don't ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don't ask why I fight.

To power the sword? Can he do that? Who would wield it then? Or did you mean Saber's Master? I guess if it was someone like Shirou they would be willing to make the sacrifice (if the world or a whole bunch of innocent lives were at stake) but I can't see anyone else willing letting their soul get swallowed up by a magic sword for all of eternity, especially if they have no intention of winning the Grail War.

And this is the last one from that other thread. Anything that comes after this is completely new.

    SÎN-LĒQI-UNNINNI

    Servant: Caster

    Gender: Female
    Height: 158 cm
    Weight: 47 kg
    Three Sizes: 81/55/84

    Alignment: Lawful Neutral

Appearance: A young-looking woman of average height and brown skin like chocolate milk. Fair black hair cascades in loose locks down to the small of her back. Her eyes are a fair, clear blue like the beaches of a tropical island. Her cheeks, forearms and thighs are adorned with mystical symbols tattooed on her skin. She wears a plain white linen shirt that resembles a tank-top and a strip of linen tied around her waist to cover her crotch. However, the cloth only hides her front, leaving her shapely rear completely uncovered.

    Strength E
    Endurance D
    Agility B
    Magic A
    Luck B
    Noble Phantasm A

    Class Skills:
    * Item Construction: The skill to manufacture magical items.
C – Capable of creating potent talismans to protect entire buildings and even cities against demons and evil spirits, or amulet that grant their wearer the favor of elementals.
    * Territory Creation: The skill to build a special terrain that is advantageous to oneself as a magus.
B+ – Creation of a “Workshop” becomes possible. Truly ancient magic from the Age of Gods allows Caster to enhance and fortify her Workshop to a superior level, albeit not enough to be considered a “Temple”.

    Personal Skills:
    * High-Speed Divine Words: The power to activate Thaumaturgy without the use of Magic Circuits. The language of the Age of Gods, back when words played a heavy role in spellcasting. As such, it is power long lost by modern magi.
E – One-line Magecraft can be reduced to Single Action. Casting time for more complex spells is halved.
    * Magic Resistance: Grants protection against magical effects.
D – Cancel Single-Action spells. Magic resistance of the same degree of an amulet that rejects magical energy.

    Noble Phantasms:
    * Nam-til3-zu im-gid-da-a i3-sar-re-en – The Infinite Faces of Legend (Your Life on a Long Tablet I Write)
    Type: Anti-Unit
    Rank: A
    Range: 1
Maximum number of targets: 1 person

A complex form of destiny manipulation worthy of one of the most ancient storytellers in recorded history. Just like she rebuilt the history of Gilgamesh to suit the social landscape of Babylon in her time, Sîn-lēqi-unninni can tap into the records of the world to reconstruct the tale of a Heroic Spirit into something more suitable to her needs. While she can spend all the time in the world weaving a new interpretation of the hero’s story, it will only be accepted by the world after touching the target of her literary transmutation.

She is the writer of an epic, so Sîn-lēqi-unninni cannot go as far as to take away her target’s worth as a Heroic Spirit. Her ability is ‘reconstruction of history’, not ‘transmutation of the soul’. The greatness of heroes is something intrinsic to their existence. Instead, Sîn-lēqi-unninni rewrites the events that converted her target into a legendary being, thus modifying the victim’s ‘heroic qualities’. She cannot destroy the legend of King Arthur, but she could convert the king of Camelot into the king of all tyrants made into legend by its unmatched wickedness. As long as the core of the original subject remains and the result of the story leads to the birth of a legendary being, there is no limit to the extent of Sîn-lēqi-unninni’s capability to retroactively modify history—that is, the understanding of history within the amalgamated memory of mankind, which retroactively redefines the Heroic Spirit’s record in the Throne of Heroes and reprograms the characteristics of the lesser copy created by the Grail in real time. While parameter ranks will not be modified, skills and Noble Phantasms will be adjusted and maybe even replaced according to the new interpretation of the Heroic Spirit’s legend. There is no known defense against this Noble Phantasm other than not allowing Sîn-lēqi-unninni to use it in the first place.

    Background
A priest, enchantress and scribe who lived in ancient Mesopotamia at some point between the thirteenth and eleventh centuries BC. She was no mighty sorceress, no sublime ruler and no inspiring heroine. The achievement that earned her a deserved position of privilege within the records of humanity’s deeds was recording the tale of the King of Heroes for posterity. But it is not merely her record of what is nowadays called the Standard Babylonian Epic of Gilgamesh which earned her humanity’s eternal gratitude. It is what she did with the life of the Golden King: rather than an insipid, obnoxious tale of a mighty man displaying his superiority until the end of his days, she depicted the life of Gilgamesh as an inward experience—food for reflection; a new perspective on the life of one who stands taller and grander than every other human being. It is nowhere as clear as in the very first line—Sîn-lēqi-unninni replaced the original line with the more well-known Sha naqba īmuru. The heroic king who “surpasses all other kings” was replaced by “he who saw the deep.”

In her efforts to adapt Gilgamesh’s life and deeds to the social and cultural identity of Babylon in her time, Sîn-lēqi-unninni transformed the haughty king’s tale into something truly beautiful. Thanks to her, Gilgamesh is far more than just an extremely powerful being. In her version of the epic, Gilgamesh acquires wisdom through failure, loss and personal suffering. She uses a larger-than-life figure to portray the reality of human existence and the abstract qualities of wisdom, learning and permanence. Sîn-lēqi-unninni turned the life of a mighty man into a matter of reflection and a source of insight into the nature of existence and the worth of a person’s life. A strange, moving story worth examining again and again. A lesson that transcends locations and eras, and thus lives eternally as the original great tale.

    Sîn-lēqi-unninni made Gilgamesh truly immortal.

    Keyword
Babylonian Magus: Sîn-lēqi-unninni was trained in the mystical ways of the old Babylonian priesthood. While Mesopotamian magic lost some of its splendor after the time of Enheduanna and the fall of the First Dynasty of Akkad, the priest-sorcerers of the late second millennium BC were still possessing of considerable power. However, Sîn-lēqi-unninni was not a particularly gifted magic user, nor a member of the higher echelons of the clergy. Thus, she was never initiated into the most advanced and potent ceremonial techniques available to Babylonian magi.

    • Exorcist: Sîn-lēqi-unninni’s role, aside from acting as a scribe in the temple, was that of an exorcist. Not unlike those associated with the modern-day church, the role of Babylonian exorcists was to subdue, expel and sometimes outright exterminate harmful spirits outside of the respected divinities of the Babylonian pantheon. Sîn-lēqi-unninni’s catalog of exorcism incantations is naturally several levels superior to that of the Holy Church, and her repertoire includes spells that would be severely harmful even to spirits on the level of Servants.
    • Healer: All priests and priestesses, regardless of association, were educated in the healing and purification rituals to treat both diseases and curses. Ancient Babylonians were well aware of the many spiritual entities and magical beasts that roamed the world and the many ways they could affect humans, for good or ill. Hence, they developed an ample collection of spells and rituals both to attract the attention of favorable creatures and to repel those that acted as a source of maladies and ill fortune.
    • Enchanter: By ‘enchanting’, old Babylonians meant the discipline currently known as ‘material transmutation’—namely, interference with and manipulation of the properties of an object. All priestesses were skilled in the creation of warding talismans to protect crops, households and newborn children, among other things. More advanced rituals and spells were highly specific to the individual capabilities of a priestess and the subject of her worship. As her name states, Sîn-lēqi-unninni was appointed to devote her life to the service of the Moon God Sin. His school of spells focused on the divination and manipulation of cyclical events. Using the physical and mystical characteristics of the moon as a basis for her spells, Sîn-lēqi-unninni is capable of such disparate things as divining the optimal dates for sowing and harvesting, controlling another person’s heart rate and blood flow, and collecting the light from celestial bodies to fuel complex sequences of magical artillery.
    • Temple maintenance: As a priestess, Sîn-lēqi-unninni was obviously expected to contribute to the maintenance of the local temples. While her magical prowess was not sufficient to raise a full temple like those of ancient Babylon on her own, her knowledge of the magical procedures to set up a magical building are still far superior to those of modern-day magi. Any Workshop Sîn-lēqi-unninni builds, while small, would still be sturdier, more defensible and more valuable for magical purposes than any existing Workshop of this era.

Okay, have to say that I remember this from the other profile, and it was one of my absolute favorite Servants there. Writer-Servants are often really clumsy to make into Caster (god knows i don't think I've managed all that well with all of the one I attempted), but this one not only seems like she matches the qualfications to be a magus quite easily, she's also got what has to be the most perfect Writer-Phantasm since Shakespeare got assigned the NP equivalent of making a second draft.

I do want to know one point of clarification though- what would the "core" of a legend be? Does it depend on the story, or is there a hard and fast point being "the result must produce a legendary spirit" that Caster can't alter? (also do those alterations actually retcon history -after- the Grail War?)

Oh and to make myself lame by comparison, reposting a Servant from the other thread who had the misfortune to arrive just before Gardevoir killed it.

    True Name: Dante Alighieri

    Class: Caster

    Parameters-

    Strength-
    D
    Agility- D
    Endurance- C
    Magic- A (C)
    Luck- B (B+)

    Class Skills-

Item Creation- E- A low level of aptitude for the creation of magical items and potions. Caster received this skill as a result of his class, but his magecraft moves outside the realm of 'academic' magecraft and his faith prevents him from using most traditional magics. As such, Caster is limited to using this skill to create minor trinkets with little magical value.

Territory Creation- A+- Cast from his home in exile, Caster nonetheless creates "a world" through his Noble Phantasm. Creation of a "Temple", superior to a Workshop, is made possible. Territory may additionally be expanded outward up to the boundaries of a small city given enough time and prana supply.

    Personal Skills-

Eye for Art- B (B+)- the many allusions to literary classics found within his own art proved Caster's artistic knowledge. If the enemy's Noble Phantasm has artistic anecdotes, Caster may be able to recognize both it and the true identity of the opposing Servant. Furthermore, the skill's trait may be conditionally increased if Caster comes into contact with a Heroic Spirit whose name formed part of his own Divine Comedy.

Mental Pollution- D- The Servant's mind is clouded, granting bonuses to defense from mental interference magecraft, but preventing those without a similar level of mental pollution from coming to an understanding with the Servant. Caster believes that the Grail War is merely a test of "Beatrice" inviting him to come further up toward heaven, and thus acts not to seize the Grail directly, but solely to rebuild his fictional journey through hell, purgatory, and heaven into realities within the World.

    Noble Phantasm-

Divine Comedy- Chain of Blessing- A- A Phantasm constructed not of the Servant's true life, but of his works, built from his greatest accomplishment- the creation of a legend which was greater than his own existence- and granted to him in place of magecraft by the Grail itself. Caster begins the Grail War with a large supply of prana, but only one "spell". Once his territory has been created, he will enter within it and begin, from memory, rebuilding the world of his 'legend', the poem he wrote for himself both in retaliation for his exile and to exalt the woman he regarded as "ideal". Caster, once his territory is confirmed, may invoke his Divine Comedy as a grand-scale Reality Marble, imposing the internal world of his legend and its false realities upon the World, only within the confines of his territory. Anyone may enter or leave the Marble by moving out of the boundaries of Caster's territory, but once inside, the territory will begin defying space- expanding even a small area such as the inside of a house to encompass all of Caster's ideals of hell, purgatory and heaven. Time, as well, changes its flow within the Marble- while the maximum that Caster may maintain the Marble is one day before the strain of prana will kill even an ideal Master without some sort of external source, that time is expanded to a period of up to five weeks within it.

The Marble itself is stranger still- rather than being intended for use in combat, the disturbing images, false demons, and tortures imagined by Caster are within it to test Caster and his Master, not the other participants. Caster will, once the Phantasm has been invoked, enter it along with his Master and guide him through "hell", "purgatory", and "heaven", taking the role he assigned to Virgil within his story. While the internal world is not hostile to Caster, since one cannot be destroyed by their own soul, it is created according to his desires and beliefs about the cosmos, which include "the possibility of the Master's destruction". Caster's Master will be sorely tried, both by the torments they must witness and avoid in hell, and by the tortures they must endure to walk through purgatory. If the journey is not completed within the time limit of the Marble, Caster and his Master will both die. If Caster's Master dies within the Marble, it will end as well. If Caster's Master- or indeed, any Master/Servant pair- reaches the end of the Phantasm, however, witnessing the Mystic Rose in the center, they will be granted the true purpose of the Phantasm- an elevated connection with the Great Grail which will allow them to instantly dispel the summoning of the other Servants, returning their essence to the Grail and bringing the war to a close, potentially within a twenty-four hour period.

If Caster's territory is disturbed or destroyed while the Marble is in effect, Caster himself will be required to recreate it before he can invoke his Phantasm again. Furthermore, this Noble Phantasm, while a work of great magical skill, is in fact a miracle granted to the Servant through their legend and the power of the Grail, giving Caster only the most worthless works of Magecraft outside of it. Indeed, compared to modern magi, Caster's skills would be considered amateur at best. However, inside the Marble, while Caster cannot perfectly defend his Master due to his mental compulsions to "test" them, he has complete control of the various creatures his imagination has created within it, and may send them to deal with others who enter.

    Class: Saber
    Name: Beowulf

    Stats:

    STR: A
    AGI: C
    END: A
    MGI: C
    LCK: A

    Class Skills

Magic Resistance: A: Cancels spells of A-Rank or lower. In practice, the Servant is untouchable to modern magi.

Riding: B: Most vehicles can be handled with above average skill. However, cannot ride the likes of Phantasm Racessuch as Demonic Beast and Holy Beast-rank creatures.

    Personal Skills

Battle Continuation: A: Makes possible to fight even with deadly injuries and can remain alive so long as one does not receive a decisive fatal wound. In his legend, Beowulf fought and killed a might dragon, only to die afterwards himself. For most of the battle he was already fatally wounded, but still managed a victory regardless.

Bravery: A+: The ability to negate mental interference such as pressure, confusion and fascination. Bonus effect of increasing melee damage. When fighting against the monster Grendel, capable of scaring away men with a single shriek, Beowulf fought it and tore its arm off with his bare hands.

Protection from Fire: B: Prevents taking damage from weapons and magic based on any sort of fire, and indeed any fire based attack. This applies even to powerful dragon fire, although it cannot fully defend against it and Beowulf will still take a greatly reduced amount of damage. Beowulf in his final battle fought against a powerful fire breathing dragon. He was exposed to its flames several times, but even when his shield failed he still survived the flames, having developed a resistance against fire before.

Charisma: B: The ability to lead. This rank is enough to rule over a country. Beowulf in life was a famous and powerful king, and even until death his kingdom fought for him without betrayal.

    Noble Phantasms

    Hrunting (The Sword of Failure)
    Rank: A+
    Type: Anti-Unit

Hrunting is the first legendary weapon that Beowulf obtained in his legend. It was given to him before his climactic fight with Grendel’s mother by Ulfereth, a sneaky and underhanded man who used it as an apology for his devious ways. Hrunting was Ulfereth’s ancestral weapon, a sword that had been in his family for many years. Beowulf accepted Hrunting, and used it in his fight against Grendel’s mother.

However, the sword that had been so highly spoken of failed completely against the incredibly tough skin Grendel’s mother possessed she had the attribute of being immune to any completely man made weapon, and thus Hrunting, a weapon possessing no divine or phantasmal blessings of any kind, could not harm her. Beowulf eventually cast away this sword in disgust and used another weapon to win against Grendel’s mother.

But still, it is a formidable weapon indeed. Though it possesses the title ‘The Sword that Fails’, its effect is anything but failure. When Beowulf calls its true name its effects will activate, and remain active for as long as Beowulf chooses to feed it prana. With his stamina, he can keep it active for up to 15 minutes without resting.

Hrunting will charge and absorb the prana fed to it, and using that prana it will activate a seeking effect. The sword will become faster and faster the more prana it is fed, going up to and even beyond Mach 10 in its speed. Beowulf’s swings shall also become faster, until the enemy facing him cannot even see the sword moving. In addition, as long as Beowulf is aiming at his enemy, Hrunting will seek to draw blood, even if Beowulf himself can barely move. Thus it will continuously grow more powerful and faster.

This demonic weapon will keep draining prana to fuel itself until its enemy is dead or Beowulf chooses to discard it. While it is a formidable weapon, Beowulf himself despises it, as he received it from Ulfereth, a person who he dislikes, and because it failed him in the critical battle against Grendel’s mother. Thus, he will only use it if he feels it is absolutely necessary.

    Naegling (Broken Sword of Destruction)
    Rank: C (A++)
    Type: Anti-Unit (Anti-Fortress)

Naegling was a sword given to Beowulf by Hrothgar, as a reward for destroying the monster Grendel and its mother, thus saving the Great Hall Heorot from its terrorizing foes. Naegling was an old heirloom of Hrothgar’s, having been created well before Beowulf’s time. Beowulf took the weapon, and it served him well for years, until it finally broke during Beowulf’s last battle against a mighty dragon.

However, it was this breaking of the sword that sparked its power and true potential. For it was not the dragon who broke Naegling, but Beowulf himself.

Naegling is an old, but also mysterious sword. In its normal form it is an old, shabby weapon unbecoming of a hero as powerful as Beowulf. Indeed, it has no special power in this state, save one, which leads to unlocking its true power.

Naegling can only be broken by its wielder, or in this case, Beowulf. It will somehow survive any enemy attack unscratched. Still, it is a weak Noble Phantasm. In fact, Beowulf prefers using his bare hands to fight rather than using Naegling, as his bare hands are more damaging!

Still, Naegling’s true power is fearsome to behold. When Beowulf breaks this weapon as a Broken Phantasm, for a single attack, for one burst of energy, it will reveal its true power. The rust and damage will evaporate from this now pristine blade, adorned with jewels and shining with a fierce light. It will launch a magnificent, unmatched wave of deadly energy, surpassing its old self more than five times over. Unlike ordinary weapons that only become slightly stronger through being Broken, Naegling can only then reveal its true power.

Part of the reason for this is Naegling’s legend. This sword is old and ancient, and most of its mystery had already faded by the time Beowulf received it. It was weak and unable to access its true power. However, when it broke under Beowulf’s power in his final battle, it also finally pierced the side of the dragon.

The blood from the dragon fused with the shattered weapon, imbuing it with draconian energy. This granted it incredible toughness and fortitude, and at the same time the essence of the phantasmal beast rejuvenated the mystery of Naegling. Thus, while it possesses an anti-dragon property from being used to slay a dragon, it also itself contains the power of a dragon. This dragon/anti-dragon paradox is what grants/inhibits its power, allowing it to only truly shine in the moment that it breaks.

Still, as breaking is a part of its legend, Naegling can somehow survive being Broken as a Noble Phantasm. When it is used, it will shatter afterwards, and cannot be used for a period of a week. In this time its regenerative abilities slowly rebuild it from its shattered state, until it can be Broken once more.

Sword of the Giants (The Monstrous Blade)
    Rank: B
    Type: Anti-Unit

The nameless Sword of the Giants is a weapon that Beowulf utilised to kill Grendel’s mother, a formidable foe that not even Hrunting could damage. It was never named, but still remains as famous as the rest of Beowulf’s weapons.

In terms of appearance, it cannot be called a sword. That thing is too big to be called a sword. Too big, too thick, too heavy and too rough, it is more like a large hunk of iron. Indeed, simply by looking at it one can tell that it was never meant to be used by human hands. Simply using that sword could be called a miracle, one that only Beowulf, who was strong enough to tear Grendel’s arm apart with his dear hands, could accomplish.

The Sword of the Giants was the weapon that ultimately slew Grendel’s mother, not because it was more powerful than Hrunting, but because it carries an aura of otherworldly power. This sword was not created by human hands, and remains a purely monstrous thing that cannot be sullied by human taint. Thus, it was able to easily pierce the barrier preventing only human made weapons.

This weapon will break almost all magical barriers effortlessly. In addition, it is so thick, so heavy, that to even have a hope of blocking its strikes the opponent must have at least B STR and B END, and otherwise they will not be able to stop its blows with their own. Furthermore, a STR of at least A is required to wield it effectively.

Beowulf likes this weapon, and uses it as his primary weapon throughout his battles. He rarely switches to another weapon, doing so only if he feels it is absolutely necessary.

So... since EXTRA is officially dead, here's my Servant sheet I used. He's not exactly historically accurate, and more gameplay based than anything.

I'll do the same. Please bear with me since it's maximum derp and gameplay-focussed.

Such a shame, he killed a T-Rex while shouting "THE LOOOOOOOOOOOORD!"

    Saint John of Capistrano
    Servant Saber
Those who are called to the table of the Lord must glow with the brightness that comes from the good example of a praiseworthy and blameless life. They must completely remove from their lives the filth and uncleanness of vice.”

    STR - B
    AGI - B
    END – A
    MGI - E
    LCK – A+
    NP – A

    Class Skills:

    Magic Resistance A

In life, Saint John was zealous and unforgiving against all that was considered heretical. Witchcraft, wizardry and similar things do not affect him at all or with reduced severity

    Riding C
Taking part in a crusade and generally renowned as “warrior Saint”, John is able to ride animal mounts of all kinds, though he is unable to ride modern vehicles, Phantasmal Beasts and Divine Beasts.

    Personal Skills:

    Charisma A

He is known to have gathered 60000 people in the Siege of Belgrad, mostly inexperienced farmers and motivating them to defeat the Ottomans. This grants him the ability to increase the effectiveness of combatants on his side.

    Saint EX

As a Saint, his sheer presence increases the effectiveness of sacraments used by himself and his Master. Also, mental interference tactics are almost useless against him because of his unbreakable faith.

    Divintiy C
Through saint worship his divinity is elevated to that of a lower deity worshipped by small cults.

    Noble Phantasms:

Letum Malefici – And he shall burn for his Sins
    Rank – B+
    Type – Anti-Unit

The materialization of his reputation as a man of strong belief who sought to eliminate heresy, and a symbol for the divine wrath of God. The opponent must be stabbed with the golden Black Key Saint John carries as his sword (a present of the Pope for his efforts to prosecute heretics, far more potent than a usual Black Key) to invoke its effect. As the name of the Noble Phantasm is said, the opponent instantly starts burning, receiving damage in relation to his own MGI stat. Further, for a certain duration also depending on the opposing Servants MGI stat the opponent is unable to “commit further heresy” (Codecast). The higher the opponents MGI stat is, the more devastating these effects become. The effectiveness of this Noble Phantasm is reduced against Catholic enemies, and almost useless against fellow Saints.

Gratia Dei – The Miracle of Healing
    Rank – A
    Type – Support

The materialization of his reputation as miracle healer, and a symbol for the divine grace of God. As God’s grace is said to be bigger than his wrath, this Noble Phantasm is probably the more powerful of the two that Saber uses. It’s immaterial, but one could say that his whole body is in fact this Noble Phantasm. Wounds, cuts and even the loss of a limb are nothing before this divine intervention of healing. When Saber is hurt, a small prayer and the calling of its name is enough for this Noble Phantasm is enough to instantly heal him as if he was just summoned, full of new energy and health. A minor side effect is that small cuts and weak poison is automatically healed after they are inflicted, without the need to call the name of the Noble Phantasm.
The most amazing thing about this Noble Phantasm is, however, that it can heal others as well, even going as far as recreating the miracle healing where Saint John supposedly brought the dead back to life. As long as Saint John is alive, his Masters death is only a temporary inconvenience, and his revival is only a prayer away. The way to go when dealing with this is obviously to either interrupt him during the prayer or to wound him so severly that he succumbs to his wounds instantly.

Meh, he wasn't that good. The idea was: hit with the first NP, let the Master jump in and finish off the enemy Master who is now castrated from codecasting while Saber covers his back.

Andrei was super-close combat focussed, with one Perk being a Scripture that made his clothing indestructible and reduced the effects of codecasting, one perk that literally was just "lolimbamartialarts" and the third one making him strong against all kinds of mental intereference and boosting his codecasts. Codecasts were the incineration rite and healing one you guys already saw.

Ah, I made a Beowulf too, though I never posted him for a few reasons.

But here are a few of my thoughts.

    1. The Hrunting used by Archer is, unlike Caladbolg II, not as heavily modified, and thus I feel that the subtitle of that weapon is the same as the original Hrunting. Hound of the Red Plains, I think it was. I also think the rank is a bit inflated, but eh.

    2. Since all Naegling ever does against the fight versus the dragon is just break, I had to come up with more. Going by the Merodach>Gram>Caliburn style thinking I envisioned Nagelring (the sword of Dietrich) as the precursor to Naegling. Their names are very alike and the Wikipedia page for Naegling even speculates that they were originally supposed to come across as the same weapon. Amusingly enough, when I studied up on Nagelring I was quick to find out that even that sword had been broken and just like Naegling, it broke due to Dietrich's strength (it got stuck and he tried to remove it, but instead the sword broke). It was later reforged to kill more stuff after which it was to be passed down Dietrich's lineage (which one could connect to the Gaetish lineage from which Hrothgar originates). So that Naegling has a power related to being a Broken Phantasm and then being reforged is very appropriate. Dietrich also uses it to kill a large amount of monsters, so it presumably has the same kind of Anti-Monster properties as Kanshou & Byakuya.

    3. The Sword of the Giant sound suspicously alike to another hunk of metal never meant to be wielded, hohoho, nice reference. I personally envisioned this as the most powerful of Beowulf's weapons, as it seems to be so great that it just has to disappear after after the killing of Grendel's Mother, its blade melting off after he emerges from the cave, a way of saying "This Deus ex Machina is too powerful for the rest of the story".

    4. I think Bravery A+ is required for any Beowulf, hahaha, he is probably the most suited for it out of any Servant. Charisma is in most cases a given, since he was a king. I think Battle Continuation is fitting too, but perhaps not at such a high rank? I have to say, Protection from fire was a clever addition, I did not think of that (though I probably should have...)

But yeah, sweet work. I think it is somehow the first Beowulf posted in this thread as well, which is kind of a shocker, seeing how famous he is.

It's a shame that RP died, it was fun to read and seemed to have a lot of neat Servants.

Beowulf is neat, though you can see where he was modified for gameplay purposes, and I like that he got all three swords as NPs. Having a sword you're actually supposed to Broken Phantasm was amusing also. ^^; I was rather less familiar with St. John, but it's interesting to see a Saint servant besides George and Jeanne. The infinite ammo full-heal sounds really, really, really powerful, but then I suppose against a good number of opponents his only offensive NP will do pretty poor damage (if C or worse MGI), so it does seem to balance out.

And yes, that's definitely the first Beowulf, I remember everyone talking about why no one had made one a few weeks ago. I always got stuck on trying to think up things for him, though I did make a Grendel who was one of my earlier Servant sheets and not that good.

I love how you made a justifiable reason for why Gilgamesh's legend doesn't match with his canon personality (even before the Grail mud tainted him he was a sadistic and conceited jerk)! Makes me wonder how Enkidu put up with him though.

My one complaint is the Rank of her NP. An NP that actually reaches the Throne of Heroes, which is supposed to be in the Root, and (even if only temporarily) re-writes its records of a Heroic Spirit (which are supposed to be kept unalterable), and its only "A"? You'd think something like that would be EX given its near limitless potential! She's pretty much casually doing what Nasuverse magi have been trying to do for generations!

His one and only NP is basically a method for the Master to completely bypass the Grail War and win without fighting even a single Servant. Normally something like that would come off as fanwanked and lame... but it seems really impressive to me! I feel like the only thing that could make this guy more awesome is a one-shot with Shirou summoning him and proceeding to end the Grail War without having to take a single life (of course, while Shirou is taking the trials, others try to break into the Reality Marble and Dante tries to delay them with the conjured demons and various other threats). The looks on everybody else's faces (especcially Illya's as the Grail War would be over but she's still alive and her "onii-chan" won without ever having to fight Berserker) would be priceless!

WUT? Okay, I have to read that scene! That said, I kept picturing the old song "When the Swallows Go Back to Capistrano" in my head... The hax healing seems almost absurd, but then I realized his only offensive NP is worth jack against Servants with low MGI (especially if they don't rely on magecraft at all), and resssurecting his Master is probably only going to work once before said enemies realize they need to simply prevent him from praying. He might be a bit more balanced as long the prayer has to be of a certain length (enough to make it impractical for him to spam it during a fight against melee Servants).

Even if you don't feel confident in your profile, for the sake of my curiosity, could you tell me who your Servant was and their NPs?

    Edit:

You never know, Lyco. Your "bare bones" could inspire someone to do a more detailed profile of your Servant!

We could always encourage them to post their profiles here. Maybe someday a new RP will get started up and they coud be re-used (or recycled and refined or maybe just inspire the creation of new Servants)?

I'd like to know who it is myself. Mostly since I just like Servant ID's, always helps to have a better idea of who can do what.

Maybe, maybe not, it's still worth throwing out there (I myself have been inspired by such "bare bones" profiles on other forums before I came to Beast's Lair). Just a name-drop and NPs wouldn't be embarrassing.

Wouldn't that be even more reason to do it? Throwing it out here allows the players the possibility to refine their Servants for the revised EXTRA. Unless there is some rule where the players can't know each others Servants in advance and are not allowed to pretend ignorance.

Holy sh*t! Andrei is nuts! I didn't get the impression he was so... what's the word I am looking for here... "smashy-smashy" is the best I can come up with, from your profile. He struck me as more calm in battle despite his zeal.

    (True) Assassin

Name of Spirit: Hassan-i-Sabbah the Fourth

    'Epitome of Unsung Heroes'

    STR: B+
    AGI: B+
    MAG: D
    LUK: D
    END: E

    Noble Phantasm

    Zabaniya: Delusional Chasm

    Rank: - (Null)

A contradiction of a Noble Phantasm. For the Hassan who bore no tale, there was no legend upon which a crystallization could be crafted. To qualify for a spot in the war of the Holy Grail, any ordinary servant would require an illustrious past, and feats upon feats to mark their value in human history. The only class that defies this rule is that of the assassin; and amongst them, this Hassan is the greatest exception.

So adept was he at disguising himself as a myriad of people and carrying out his actions so stealthily that all of his feats went unrecognized, and therefore he is the sole servant who can be considered the 'ultimate assassin'. Not even a single person knew or breathed his name. At a tier unreachable even by the pinnacles of human stealth, he can no longer be considered 'mortal', or even 'existent'. As a consequence, however, his Noble Phantasm is sealed off and rendered unusable.

    Skills

    Presence Concealment
    Rank: EX
The capacity to hide one's presence as a Servant. It is a common skill to the Assassin class. At this rank it is possible to disappear completely and become impossible to be detected. Walking in plain sight will not trigger as reaction by human senses or automatons, and no penalty will be taken to efficiency even when preparations to attack are taken. It is not so much as a memory wipe or any form of magecraft, but rather the unparalleled ability to conceal one's existence in a way such that no physical or magical traces remain.

Indeed, if there is nothing to see, hear, smell, feel, taste or sense, how could there even be a hint of an enemy attack?

    Subversive Activities
    Rank: A++
The talent to reduce the enemy forces in the preliminary stages, before going into battle. An expert of traps. However, the higher is the ranking of this Skill, the more one's spiritual status as a hero declines. It is possible to disable all of the total military force and delay multiple waves of supplementary troops before the enemy advances.

    Background
An unnatural existence. A single human being whose origin was the concept of 'imperceptibility'. His feats bear the names of many fictional beings, such as that of 'ghosts' or 'demons' and sometimes even 'curses', but never his own. He never took the title of Hassan in life, instead manipulating the current head to bring the world under his will, all the time undetected. That his master is capable of acknowledging his summoning is a miracle in itself.

The only thing that I don't like is that you are using EX as the "greatest expression of skill", when it should indicate "skill that defies classification".

Hmm, I'll probably change that for subversive actions, but pretty sure presence concealment deserves its spot.

He can essentially spend hours bleeding his foe dry and they wouldn't even realize. BUT before you say he's broken, carpet bombing his general area will still kill him. You won't know if it does, though.

    Ultimate troll servant, heh.
