+1 to Memories of a King (can't believe I haven't recced it yet), I've always wanted to read about Saber's past and the fic doesn't disappoint. The only things I "know" about that whole Arthurian thing comes from a few episodes of the Merlin TV show, that awful movie with Clive Owen and Type-Moon, so I have no idea how accurate what's happening in the fic is, but the fic is very enjoyable.
Merlin is pretty much how I'd expect him to be: hilarious, but also with a dangerously serious side. Polly's done a good job at making me like Uther at first, only to crush my dreams and hopes and turn him into kind of a jerk. Saber is acting reasonably in-character for her age, her interactions with Kay are particulary sweet and I want to see Arturia and Sir Kay together in a Type-Moon work now! What I especially like are the lively and detailed descriptions, some might think it's a little too much sometimes, but I never get bored of reading them. I don't know if Morgan's friend is an OC or not, but she and Morgan have an interesting dynamic. And Morgan is an appealing character in general, she's just so ambitious and motivated that I want her to succeed in everything.
The pacing might feel a little bit slow at times, but I personally don't really mind. The world building is good and I never got bored of the story, at least not yet.
