She was but immediately agreed to respect the vote.
She was but immediately agreed to respect the vote.
So are people pissed that she jumped on-board too fast?
This is all so fascinating to me as a basis of a "what-if" had Quebec separated from Canada like they kept trying to do in the 90's.

Perhaps if the stupid scientists over at CERN omitted a lot of redundant security protocols and NASA had actual funding and bloody ITER was already up and running, we might be able to develop a working FTL drive in the next hundred years.
Or, alternatively, they, in an ideal world, would have opted for a better reactor design and the folks at CERN would have linked up their LHC with it to try and create far more energetic runs to find out more on how exotic matter works.
We do not live in an ideal world.
Misplaced optimism
Well most theoretically ways to functionally travel faster than light aren't literally FTL, which is basically why. But honestly I am more interested in our ability to effectively go to mars and colonize that than hoping that someone figures out how to generate wormholes in the next century.
[20:47:33] I3uster: in 2015 a crack memer was sent to skype prison by a court of his Peers for a crime he didnt commit. he promptly escaped from his Maximum security Forum into the twitter Underground. Today, still wanted by the skype Group he survives as memer of fortune. If you Need a shitpost, if nobody else can fuck up a thread, and if you can find him, maybe you can hire: June.

I only wish to live to see a blue sky on mars
To be fair even if the EM Drive works as described it's not a FTL drive, although it does violate conservation of momentum.
Well, physics show it can happen. Given enough resources, time and effort...
Nasa's latest budget was still dropping steeply, wasn't it?
And don't make me even bring up the times ITER has been delayed to hell and back!
Seems playing the Institute in Fallout 4 must have affected my perception of "morality" and "end justifies anything"...
I am still calling bullshit on the budget cuts Nasa has had to deal with in the last few years...
This issue did not arise from nowhere all of a sudden. The question of Europe has hounded the Tories for decades. The referendum was literally an attempt by Cameron to stop his own party going on about it, which turned out to be the most epic disaster.

But you're right, there's certainly an element of running out the clock and just hoping the whole thing goes away.

holding a commons vote and letting labour block it and throwing up your hands and saying "well we tried" would actually be an epic way to both get out of doing it and simultaneously slap the "anti democratic" label onto labour for the rest of time
