UBW and Zero were screened in 30-40 theaters too so it is not strange really.

It's weird because they are going to play the live recording of the prescreen in 30 theaters, not the animation of first two episodes. Maybe it's just SHAFT being weird again.

Again, pretty sure that’s exactly what they did for Zero and UBW. Big prescreen event at one theater that they live-streamed to a bunch of others.

Pulling a Gudako 2.0 is sure to piss a lot of people off, inside and outside of Japan, not only because of Hakunon's popularity, but because she was shown a little too much in the marketing material for a bait and switch like that to not jump from clever to infuriatingly misleading.

In the creator poll last year she is even more popular than Kiyohime and Medusa. Not sure about the fanbase in general but I've seen more fanart of her with Emiya, Gil than Hakuno with Tamamo/Nero. Heck I've seen an increasing amount of yuri fanart of her and Tamamo/Nero/Altera recently.

Seems that way. She alone was featured in Capsule Servant IIRC.

Also, if fanart means anything, she has 3 times the art of male Hakuno, which is a far cry from the almost 1:1 ratio of Gudao and Gudako.

Just that PV. She had a bit too much focus put on her in that PV (second in screentime after Nero herself), so shafting her, no pun intended, like that would seem needlessly baity with little payoff, when she was featured in such a way.

It was already a bait with little payoff when they made Hakuno the protagonist after showing her, I doubt they care.

What are you talking about? The one with the most screentime was skeleton-kun. The injustice we must rise againts is the lack of skeleton, in every pv after that which focus on hakuno.
