While I never really mind striving for the best, but why a second masters? Unless it's just for personal achievement, that is really unecessary and expensive.

You lucky bums. It'll be hard enough going back for my first Masters, so I am holding off until I get decent work. This coming from a person who got Dean's List 5 semesters in a row while working. Having more debt right now is a no go for me.

And if schooling is that affordable, then those requirements aren't bad. What, are books triple the price if you buy from bookstores to compensate?

It's for when you're fighting shounen boardroom battles with other professionals and the other guy thinks he has you on the ropes but then you're like "Actually... there's something I forgot to tell you. I'm a
    Walker of All Paths
    Double Master
!" and then you rally and win the big business case.

Exactly what luster said, except for the Austria part.

I'm not sure I'll want/be able to keep working in the big telco business for too long, so I'm considering becoming a middle/high school math teacher at some point.

2 Masters to teach in high school? For real?

A Master is something normal to achieve in Europe nowadays, no wonder Austria raised requirements.

  12. #372
Masters are not required for anything here.

I was looking at jobs in Europe and they required masters and I was like 'huh?' then I realized.

Normally it works the other way: First you start being a teacher and when you burn out you take the soul-crushing job, because there is no soul left to crush.

I don't even know what that means. European high school teachers can cast spells?

Yeah, that's why they still speak those not-English languages. Those are for spellcasting.

It's completely wrong though; I knew EVERYTHING when I was 14 and now I'm just getting dumber.

    >Mfw people in Denmark actually get paid for being in highschool/uni if you're over 18.
    >Mfw US students hundreds of thousands in debt
