OK, I guess that could used a TL;DR if I envisioned this post as viewed via a smartphone, but I was really keen on following up on the Kizumonogatari comparison because Hanekawa got noticeably busted up between the various Monogatari TV series and Kizumonogatari. I couldn't envision such a difference between UBW the TV and HF.

Well, that, and I figured this was the most comfortable and "smallest" way for me to mention the ANNCast in the thread because (a) Lord knows how much attention has been spent in the forum on ANN opinions and (b) hey maybe there's something new/worthwhile that could be gathered from it so feel free to go at it BL.

And how much of that attention was the result of YOU repeatedly insisting on posting ANN reviews in the UBW thread even after it was clear that everyone else was sick and tired of them?

I know, I bear a good amount of responsibility for that! I regret that obsession, and I thought I ended up already expressing said-regret before. I was saying "Lord knows..." more to myself than anyone else here.

Didn't feel I needed to be explicit about who to blame for that (thought it would be fine to let the target of the blame for that, primarily me, go unstated) but OK sorry for not raking myself over the coals enough. I guess.

Anyway, questions about how Sakura was handled still stands; the ANNCast was more of a context-setter for the questions, a potential side-avenue of discussion at best. I guess you could consider those questions I raised as being pointed more towards those who have already seen the movie than anyone else.

I think they were mostly linked to and discussed, to be technical. And the reviews only got real bad once the, uh, expectations of the reviewer became clearer and she moved through season 2.

About the ANN cast since i don't care about Jacop opinion on Fate the only important thing that there will be an interview with Sudou on ANN and he asked him about the sex scenes in the upcoming movies.

I expect a vague non-answer or a statement that alludes to the intended audience of the trilogy/the nature of presage flower and lets the readers of the interview try to infer for themselves what the future films will be like.

ANN's hatred on TM stuff is an old one... except that before the UBW anime they kept that on their twitters where they rage at the fanbase.
But I think that the animeblog community in general is pretty bad so think this was expected.

"ANN" is not a hivemind. Most of the staff members and a lot of vocal community members are left-leaning, that's about it. Besides many fans there during UBW were just as insufferable as haters.

please do not conflate ex post facto justification of dislike with political motives with being left wing, most of these people are perfectly fine with problematic elements in their series as long as they consider them good, like everything uro does

ANN is (or was, I don't know their actual status now) basically a group of friends, the person who writed the UBW review is a friend of the girlfriend of the owner of the site, you can argue that it's not enough for it, but they acted like this since way before the UBW anime, so that was no surprise for me, if there where insufferable fans, centainly they did enough to attract them.

the ruling narrative however was to play down the problematic elements of uro and play up the ones of nasu

EDIT: That being said, the attitude towards the HF movie has been more positive.

I didn't know he talked about Nasu's works. I've only seen him in crossovers and the specials, but now I'm curious! Did he talk about them in one of his videos, or was it somewhere else?
