i actually think that Narita's characters are more likely to come off as one-note in their first appearance and develop later. Jester started out as an over the top "how interesting! hahahaha! despair!" guy and he got much more nuanced and sublte afterwards

How is Jester nuanced? I don't see much difference between first and later impressions.
It wasn't much; but I think we'll find out more about him later tho. I'm curious about him before he became a vampire, so hopefully he'll be elaborated upon in the future.
Nuanced and subtle are like the complete opposite of Jaster
He isnt super nuanced, but he did get better. I wouldnt expect the same guy that went on a "this is so interesting" rant to do a more composed action like calmly dripping wine from a rooftop, be tactical against an enemy via using multiple abilities, environmental dust and local firearms or use subterfuge for extended periods of time by going undercover as a little kid

And I dont resent Alkeides edge. It makes sense considering the visions he was asked to internalize and he was a pretty pragmatic guy in life and he wouldnt be the first archer willing to do something cheap in order to get ahead. Besides, he doesnt go out of his way to target innocents, only if it benefits him. He even gave the police a warning shot
When was it said that some are better than the originals? I take "better" as "more useful", like her poison which isn t as lethal as serenity so she can touch people without killing them.
Her Serenity's copy was stated to have been more weaker then hers, thus less lethal. But at the same token it was said she had Zabaniya's stronger then the originals. Ichor of Reverie was stated to have been stronger. As for when it was said, either in her stat profile at one o the backs of a book or in the scene in the forest where she was recuperating.

To me?? it kind of sounds like sometimes they are better, sometimes they are weaker when she uses it. Kind of sounds like she hasn't really perfected anything, but manages to sometimes get a good hit in.The power of individual techniques is greater or lesser than their originals on a case-by-case basis
I never cared about Zealot abilities, but she might be hot in her final ascension so I'll keep her on watch list.
