Nah, I think planet-defending sword fits better, considering what the Grands are even supposed to do.

It depends on whether you interpret a Grand Servant to be the greatest of what their Class specializes in (so Grand Saber would be the greatest swordsman, Grand Caster would be the greatest mage, Grand Berserker would be the greatest at... hulking out and wrecking shit?), or just the greatest Servant who happens to qualify for that particular Class (so, a Servant could qualify as Grand Saber even if they're not necessarily the greatest swordsman, as long they're one of the best Heroic Spirits in general and have a higher aptitude for Saber than any other Class). Given the purpose of Grands, you're right that the latter makes more sense.
Fair enough. I was just going with the former out of personal preference.

I dunno if an alien was attacking me I'd want the Saber with the beam cannon and not the one that can cut good.
He is still an superb Assassin though, any other Assassin are kitten compare to him in a fight and assassination. He beheaded Ozymandias before he can become Ozymandio

I prefer Saber that can cut it
It's all about preferences. What is Nasu's preference?

What about a Saber that learns to cut so good that it becomes a beam cannon?
Musashi-chan managed to do that. Maybe there are other servants too who can do that

I wonder how high clairvoyance Geronimo has. It's not in his sheet but he can predict the future. I doubt it's on the level of Merlin but it's something I wanted to point out.
"Only in my company, will you not be a monster"

I think Grand Berserker would essentially be the tactical nuke of the Grands. Send it to destroy shit when necessary, and once it's done, withdraw it. Whatever it would destroy in the process would likely become permanently devastated.
